So peaceful !

We had a wonderful stay in this old fisherman's cottage. The cottage is small and very basic, but has everything you need. Situated beautifully on the very edge of the Ria Formosa, it is tranquil and close to nature. You are away from the hustle and bustle but ideally located to explore the Eastern Algarve, especially the beautiful beaches. A car is a must! Helena the host lives in the adjoining property, She is very friendly and helpful but not imposing. Would stay again.

Awful accommodation, dirty, infestation of red ants, even in the bed my friend slept in. We stayed one night and left.We found a dead gecko under the toaster which looked to have been there sometime. It was being eaten by the red ant infestation. The owner did remove it, however as the ants were in the bed, it was a step too far. The owner said it was 100% clean, it was very clean, their idea of clean is somewhat different to ours. I was told the ants were due to being in the country! I have stayed in the area for many years and have never encountered such a rental. I rent my own property m, so have vast knowledge of what it entails. There’s rustic and there’s unclean. Huge difference.

Great location, if you want a quite stay near nature and the sea

- Location: Directly near the Ria Formosa. Be aware you need a car to get to the next beach or a boat to cross the lagoon to reach the beach. It´s a very quiet place to stay. If you like nature this is a great house to stay. - Weather: in April 2018 wheater was very rainy and cold. - Contact: Helena is a very friendly host. Communication could be a little faster. For communication you should speak French. English will be no big help here. - Soroundings: The islands in the front of the lagoon have endless sandy beaches. We preferred Barril and took the bridge there. In April ferries are not going so frequently. Near the house there is no ferry available. You need a boat to cross the lagoon. - House: We used the small one and it fits for two persons very well. I suppose for three it will be too small. Kitchen is well equipped. Some plates were not so clean.

Wir wurden von einer sehr netten Gastgeberin empfangen und mit Information zur Umgebung ausgestattet. Die Unterkunft ist einfach, hat aber alles was man für einen entspannten Urlaub benötigt (gutes Internet). Wunderschön ist der Pool. Wir haben uns sehr gut erholt.

Habiamos hecho reserva de 10 dias..al dia siguiente de llegar nos fuimos.Un horno de casa imposible respirar alli dentro del calor.Muebles, puerta.. muy viejos y comidos por el sol parecia q se iban a caer a cachos.Limpieza....bastante mala tanto por el patio como en la cocina...Hormigas rojas en la cocina sobre la meseta y en el suelo comiendose un escarabajo.No habia tv q decia q si, la piscina compartida con un horario pero nos dice la propietaria q hay q pedir permiso para usarla...El aparcamiento dice q en las instalaciones,mentira, tienes q aparcar en una calle sin salida que no es de la propiedad.Cuando le dije q nos ibamos al dia siguiente de entrar me dice q me devuelve el dinero cosa que despues de una semana y despues de haberme pedido el n de cuenta no me abono, pero ella si cambio mi estancia para poder otra vez poder alquilarla....Horrible experiencia....nos arruino las vacaciones de verano. Gracias!!

Licht und Schatten

Positiv waren die geräumige Terrasse und der Pool. Die Küche ist vollständig eingerichtet. Das Haus ist relativ ruhig gelegen. Die kleine Strasse entlang der Ria Formosa ist angenehm zu gehen. Negativ war, dass die Terasse bei Ankunft nicht sauber war. Es gab zu wenig Handtücher. Das Haus ist sehr einfach eingerichtet und an verschiedenen Stellen blättert die Farbe von den Wänden. Es ist innen nicht wirklich zum Aufenthalt geeigent. Die einzige Sitzmöglichkeit gibt es in einer Küchenecke an einem kleinen Klapptisch mit zwei Stühlen. Nach einigen Tagen bekamen wir Probleme mit kleinen Ameisen. Nicht jeder hat eine eigene Bettdecke. Für Sommergäste, die tagsüber viel unterwegs sind, ist das Apartement ok..

Hallo, es tut mir leid für Ihre Wertschätzung für ein Haus, das offensichtlich der Beschreibung entspricht, wenn man den Kommentaren anderer Urlauber glaubt. Es tut mir auch leid, dass ich nicht 10 Handtücher hinterlassen habe, wenn Sie zu 2 kommen. Tatsächlich biete ich nur die Bettwäsche und nicht die für den Strand. Sie konnten einfach während Ihrer Abreise nach zusätzlichen Handtüchern fragen... es ist einfacher, Ihre Anfragen zu beantworten, als online Ansprüche geltend zu machen. Es tut mir leid, dass ich ein Haus in der Natur habe mit Ameisen, die sich erlauben, ohne Genehmigung einzutreten. Und zu deiner Information, das Haus wurde neu gestrichen und es gibt keine Schuppen mehr an den Wänden. Freut mich, dass es Ihnen hier gefallen hat 😓

Landestypisches Ferienhäuschen für ruhesuchende Naturliebhaber

Das Casa Ria liegt direkt an der Ria Formosa und ist deshalb ideal für alle , die die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit suchen. Auf dem Grundstück stehen 3 Häuser, angebaut ist das größere Casa Candido, das Platz bis zu 6 Personen bietet. Der großzügige Pool wird von beiden Häusern genutzt. In den 2 Wochen unseres Aufenthalt konnten wir den Pool jedoch für uns allein nutzen. Die Gastgeberin Helena wohnt ebenfalls in ihrem Haus auf dem Grundstück. Sie ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und spricht ausgezeichnet französisch und englisch. Auch auf Extra-Wünsche geht sie gerne ein. Das Casa Ria hat eine kleine, aber schöne Terrasse, die u.a. mit einem kleinen Holzkohlengrill ausgestattet ist. Im Inneren bietet es Platz bis zu 3 Personen. Das 150 cm breite Bett im kleinen Schlafraum ist sehr bequem und auch auf dem Schlafsofa im Wohnraum kann man gut schlafen. Leider ist das Häuschen ansonsten sehr spartanisch eingerichtet. So fehlen im Wohnraum jegliche Sessel oder bequeme Sitzmöglichkeiten. Auch eine Leselampe wäre bei Regenwetter oder/und früher Dunlelheit am Abend wünschenswert.Das Fernsehen hat leider nie funktioniert, auch das Internet schwächelte oft. Die Küche ist funktional eingerichtet und bietet einen kleinen Tisch zum Essen. Fazit: Ein wunderschöner Urlaubsort für alle, die Natur und Ruhe suchen, dabei aber auf größeren Komfort verzichten können. Wir bedanken uns herzlich bei Helena für ihre Gastfreundschaft und kommen gerne wieder.

Heerlijk rustig huis voor een stel in prachtige omgeving

Het huis is een comfortabele grootte voor een stel om op vakantie te gaan en van alle gemakken voorzien, includief een goede keuken. Het zwembad is heerlijk! Aardige verhuurders die ook goeie tips voor dingen in de omgeving hebben. Aanrader!

This is a beautiful location in the Ria Formosa national park. The peace and tranquillity of the lagoon is profound, along with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The garden is very pretty and the pool is great. Highly recommended.

Schönes Objekt in hervorragender Lage

Sehr gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus in traditioneller Bauweise. Das Haus liegt direkt am Naturschutzgebiet Ria Formosa, besonders von der Dachterasse gibt es einen herlichen Ausblick. Der schöne Algarve Radweg führt unmittelbar am Ferienhaus vorbei. Es handelt sich um 2 zusammengebaute, separate Mieteinheiten mit gemeinsamen Garten und Pool. Dass geht aus dem Online-Inserat jedoch nicht so deutlich hervor. Ich würde meine Ferien jederzeit gerne wieder hier verbringen.

Lugn och fridfull miljö.

En aning slitet men pittoreskt. Myror var ett litet problem. Fler handdukar är önskvärt. Grillen var elektrisk, trodde det skulle vara en traditionell kolgrill. Få och lite slitna utemöbler. Bil ett måste!

Himmlische Ruhe und wunderschöne Natur

Die Lage des Hauses ist einfach genial, direkt an der Ria Formosa. Der Blick von der Terrasse über den Pool zum Wasser der Lagune ist herrlich, der Pool super sauber und recht groß. Das Haus ist einfach, aber alles da, was man zur Selbstversorgung braucht. Alle Geräte haben einwandfrei funktioniert. Der Außenbereich ist sehr großzügig und funktionell gestaltet und es gibt viele Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten. In der Umgebung kann man viele sehenswerte Städtchen mit kleinen, hübschen Gassen, schöne Kirchen und Häfen anschauen. Besonders die Fischmärkte hatten es uns angetan. Die Strände in der Umgebung sind sehr weitläufig, weiß, sauber. Wir haben auch ein paar Ausflüge in Felsalgarve gemacht, es war sehr beeindruckend. Aber die Strände sind deutlich stärker frequentiert, wer die Ruhe mag, wird sich an der Sandalgarve wohler fühlen. Wir waren als Familie mit unserem jüngsten Sohn (13) dort und hatten ausreichend Platz. Für vier Erwachsene wird es evtl. etwas zu eng. Der Kontakt mit den Vermietern war unkompliziert und schnell.

Exceptional accomodation in an equally exceptional location

First off, a very big thank you to our lovely host Helena who went out of her way to make our stay in her villa a most enjoyable one and responded very quickly to all emails during the booking process. She was also very friendly to us during our stay and gave us loads of advice on beaches, shops and restaurants. Top host!! We are a family of 4, with kids aged 10 and 7 and the CASA 1 accommodation was perfect for us. The apartment is comprised of a main bedroom along with a separate kitchen, bathroom and lounge which has a double bed sleeper couch. There is a superb private outdoor area with BBQ, table and chairs and a very useful day bed which is great for relaxing in the afternoons/evenings. The pool was a big plus for the hot days and was a massive hit with our kids. For those not wanting to be located in the middle of built up tourist areas this property is perfect. It sits on a quiet road overlooking a lagoon. A car is definitely required to make the trips to the many Algarve beaches, restaurants and shops. If you can get across the lagoon (we brought along an inflatable kayak) you then have access to a beautiful stretch of beach with many shells, you will most likely be the only people on the beach. A fifteen minute drive up the coast is Tavira, which is a lovely town to visit, it has loads of good restaurants and a lovely beach which you access by sea ferry from the quay near the town centre. Fifteen minutes down the coast is the less beautiful town of Olhão but from here you have access via water ferries to the amazing islands of Armona and Culatra. I would recommend a day on each of these islands. Helena recommended the Fialho restaurant which is a short walk from the villa along the lagoon. We had a lovely meal at this very popular local spot, again I would highly recommend this restaurant. In summary, this is an exceptional villa, ideally located to explore the Algarve and the host is very helpful and friendly. Thanks again Helena
