Built in 1865, this classic New Orleans double-parlor, Greek Revival townhouse has been carefully restored to offer visitors an authentic and comfortable hideaway in the heart of the city. The property has original hardwood floors throughout, the home's original staircase, intricate cypress molding, ten foot windows, and towering ceilings; all of the charming qualities that set New Orleans architecture apart. The home has also been updated with energy efficient improvements such as tankless water heaters, energy star rated appliances, fully insulated walls, and more.

The townhouse has two bedrooms located on the second floor along with a large shared bathroom and laundry facilities. Each bedroom has a queen size bed and full walk-in closets. The master bedroom enjoys fantastic light from a pair of large guillotine windows that open on to a second floor balcony where guests may relax after a full day of sight seeing as the sun sets across the Crescent City.

The first floor is designed for all of your entertaining needs with an open floor plan and a full guest bath. The living room features comfortable living furnishings including a sofa, chairs, and cable TV. A dining table seating six occupies the dining space. The kitchen, with composite quartz countertops and new stainless appliances, opens to the living/dining space with a large bar. The stove is a five burner gas stove, satisfying the cook in the family.

Exploring NOLA

We had a great stay at Marty and Katie's place. The location was very convenient to the French Quarter. The neighborhood was safe. The house was very nice and clean. We loved every minute of being in New Orleans. We would definitely book this place again.

First time visitors to New Orleans

First time visitors to new orleans. Two couples, all chronologically gifted. But fit. The house was lovely and made us really feel like we were staying in New Orleans. Big tall ceilings big tall windows eclectic Furnishings comfy beds. Lots of thoughtful details like plenty of teepee and paper towels coffee provided water filter. It was a walk to get to the Streetcar but cheap once you got to it. And we soon found our way around town we clocked 14,000 steps each day and there was more than enough to do parades, festivals, food, good food everywhere. Marty the landlord was instantly available for any questions and very helpful would highly recommend this house don't be put off by The Neighborhood which is in the process of being renovated. That didn't bother us at all

Review BEFORE booking

i asked for address but was not given until check in. i would not have booked if I could have reviewed neighborhood prior to booking. Television ROKU did not work and owner did not help at all. unable to watch movies on night staying in. when stripping linens off bed i discovered stains on mattress and serum stains on pilliws GROSS! i do not reccomend this property to anyone

Nice place inside; be weary of hosts

**READ BELOW REGARDING HOSTS** We went to New Orleans for a weekend for a wedding. The interior space of the house was lovely and charming, very nicely appointed with beautiful architectural and design elements. The neighborhood was fine for our purposes, but sits out on its own a bit. A ten minute walk to the streetcar, and 30 minute walk into the city. Two days after we'd checked out, we received some messages from the host declaring the cleaning crew had spent all day cleaning the house and that we'd left vomit in several rooms and that towels were missing. Without my consent an additional cleaning fee was assessed to my credit card, despite my explanation and protestations that it was impossible the cleaners were referring to us. After 6 weeks of radio silence from the hosts and endless attempts at receiveing a refund from VRBO, the case was decided in my favor and I was finally reimbursed. I don't know if this is a usual scheme of theirs, but it certainly has put me off of using VRBO, possibly forever.

Exceeded our expectation

We loved the house and the hosts. In four days we were able to visit the sites we wanted to by walking, using the trolly, and uber. We lucked out and had beautiful weather too.

“Nice inside, scary outside”

The inside of the home was clean, updated nicely, and comfortable. The front outside was shocking with overgrown, unkept foliage, a truck always parked immediately outside the house, large garbage cans left in front at all times, and a neighborhood that was very sadly low income. Our Uber driver from the airport advised us to not walk in the neighborhood after dark.

Accessible to a lot!

Beautiful home that was centrally located to many area attractions. My family enjoyed walking to the trolley stops and taking it to Bourbon street and through the garden district. Hosts were very accommodating! Loved our time here making memories!!

Gorgeous Property!

Let me start by saying the hosts thought of everything you may need and had it available ! There were 2 bikes available to use and they even had the bike locks and air pump just in case. They also had umbrellas and full size Dove body wash and shampoo/conditioner if you left yours at home. The laundry room was fully stocked with everything you would need ! This home was beautifully renovated and we loved the exposed brick and other original items that were left in the home. The location was perfect and the neighbors were super friendly! 10/10 for sure!

The house is adorable and gives you a sense of history with modern amenities. Marty and His wife were very helpful and friendly. The house is within a 10 minute walk too St. Charles Street and a 7 minute drive to the French Quarter. Definitely would recommend staying here.

Amazing Spot!

Perfectly located in the middle of everything. We walked to our music festival in 15 minutes, cafes in every direction, st charles in 5 min walk. The house was beautiful on a quiet street and was peffect for our crew!

Overall great spot, Marty was excellent and very helpful!

Only reason I removed a little was that there was alot of construction going on in the neighborhood so it was loud pretty early in the morning. Some of us staying are light sleepers so this was a little annoying but still highly recommend. Probably wouldn't even be an issue in the future once construction is complete.

Wonderful Retreat!

Our first visit to New Orleans was wonderful, and Marty's rental was a perfect retreat after two busy days of sightseeing! The property is very close to downtown, yet the street is very quiet at night. I highly recommend this property!

The house is in a very bad place where uber and lyft refuse to go to. There are homeless people and drug dealers in the front of the house. I would never rent that place again. ..

Gem of a Find

Celebrating a friends birthday and was looking for a place close to the more tourist-y areas of New Orleans. This place was perfect! It was close to trolleys or a short (and cheap) Uber away from all of our destinations. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and well done - still holds true to its historic charm! The owners were very communicative and made sure we were all set for our weekend stay. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance!

Clean and spacious stay for long NO weekend

This property was perfect for our weekend stay in NO. It was very clean and up to date, with awesome original flooring and other authentic touches. Walkable to St Charles st and the streetcar. No trouble getting ride share services to further spots in town.

This property is a hidden gem in the heart of New Orleans. It reminded me of the beauty and culture that thrives in the “Big Easy.” It exudes a very relaxing essence. You will feel like you are in the comfort of your own home. Also, the owners of the property are very welcoming and helpful.

Great property/location

Initially we thought the neighborhood was a little sketch, but we felt safe the entire time. The street is quiet. The house is beautiful and the location was great for what we planned for the weekend (which was relaxing and hitting up several nearby restaurants). It was a just a quick weekend getaway and I’m glad we chose this house. The house was perfect for my wife and me, but it could easily accommodate a second couple or a small family. I was surprised that there wasn’t a television in either bedroom (but that’s just a personal preference). Everything else was as expected and I was very pleased with the entire process from start to finish.

Beautiful Home!

My dad and I stayed here for two weeks due to our homes being damaged from Hurricane Ida. Love everything about the property and the owners were very nice.
