The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds, gather used towels and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
The guests are required to wash, dry and put away all pots, pans, dishes and utensils including everything from the dishwasher. . Please empty the sink drainer and put away all dishes and utensils.
When departing at the end of your stay, in the summer, set the AC/Heater to “Cool” and set at 82 degrees. In the spring, fall and winter please turn the AC/Heater to “Heat” and set at 55 degrees.
In the winter months use extreme caution if any snow or ice is forecast. You may park at the bottom of the driveway and walk up to the cabin or even depart early. Please discuss with owner.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Our county does not offer curb side trash pick up in our area and guest are required to take trash to a free collection area 1/2 mile from the cabin.

Gloria retired from our local school system and Ralph recently retired as Director of Operations with a national power generation company. We live in Florida but spend enough time at the cabin to feel like "locals" in the area. We enjoy communicating and inter-acting with people and therefore like to share our cabin with other folks.

Why they chose this property

We looked for a home away from home near the mountains of North Carolina. We visited all the surrounding areas, including Bryson City, Sylva, Franklin, and Asheville. We are far from impulse buyers and after looking for months and months, we finally narrowed it down that we would look for property in Cherokee, North Carolina. It just seemed to be the right fit as we would be incredibly close to the National Park as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway. There's enough to do to keep you busy, but it is remote enough to actually make you feel like you are on vacation. We started searching for a chalet and even stayed at some vacation rentals in the area. After months of looking, we eventually purchased this property.

What makes this property unique

We enjoy the view of the mountain from the cabin front porch. The cabin is located only three miles from Cherokee and eight-ten miles from Dillsborough/Sylva therefore everything is very convenient but is at the end of a private asphalt paved driveway and is very secluded from any other cabins or homes.
