Escape to Hill House, an enchanting 4-bedroom holiday home in the heart of Connemara, brimming with character and timeless elegance. This beautiful home welcomes you with original features like full-sized wooden shutters and high, corniced ceilings, blending historic charm with modern comforts.



Ground Floor:

Living Room: Bright and airy with two large bay windows, an open fire, comfortable sofas, an armchair, and a chaise lounge for ultimate relaxation.

Formal Dining Room: An elegant space with an ornate fireplace and a large table seating eight, perfect for memorable dinners.

Fully-Equipped Kitchen: Provides everything you need, including an electric hob and cooker, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and a built-in microwave. A breakfast table for six opens onto the garden deck.

Office/Playroom: A versatile space for work or play.

Guest Toilet: Conveniently located on the ground floor.



First Floor:

Bedroom 1 (Master): A spacious room with a king-size bed, an ensuite shower, and a walk-in wardrobe.

Wonderful house In great location

The house was really well equipped with everything you could need . The bedrooms were really comfy and the outside area was great for breakfast .. when the sun shone !! Not sure you could do better

Wonderful spacious country house in the heart of Clifden

The house was comfortable and cosy and the kitchen well-equipped. The staff was very helpful and allowed us to stay for less than a week. We wil certainly try to be back and this time for a longer period!

We have been availing of Hill House Clifden for the past 5 years and have created so many wonderful memories for ourselves, our children and grandchildren. It has become known as our 'holiday house' and is a real bolthole that brings joy, rest and refuge to our lives. A brilliant home in a brilliant location.

Another wonderful stay

We have been staying in Hill House every year for the past 5 years, sometimes multiple times a year. It never fails to induce a relaxation and calmness, which truly epitomise a good vacation. The location, space and quality of the accommodation is perfect for our families needs and we hope to continue using it for many years to come. The support of Connemara Lettings, Yvonne and her teams really add to our stay. Absolutely nothing!!

Perfect Connemara Base

Hill House was better than expected. The house was equipped with everything we needed (and more). Location was excellent - a short stroll to the town centre which had a great selection of restaurants. Clifden was a fabulous base for exploring Connemara. We would definitely recommend Hill House and hope to return again some time.

Perfect place to stay

A massive thank you for an excellent stay at Hill House. The house is absolutely beautiful and set in such a perfect location. All of the bedrooms are beautifully furnished with lots of home comforts. The kitchen was very well equipt and was where we spent the majority of our time. Doors opening out on to decking meant children could be inside and out and we felt very safe letting them play. The sitting room was very spacious and although not as comfortable as the rest of the house it provided everything we needed. The location of the house is excellent, although at the top of a very small but quite steep hill you are minutes walk from shops, restaurants and bars. Clifden itself is the perfect holiday town with lots to do and the people are so friendly. Big thanks to Yvonne for handling the booking and all our various requests and Peter for waving us farewell. I would highly recommend Hill House for your holiday.

A wonderful Holiday

This was our 3rd time letting this property and it was simply wonderful. The property is so well located with pubs, shops and restaurants on our doorstep. The house is 'homely', with a real lived in feel to it, slightly worn in places but very comfortable and we get great enjoyment from it. Would highly recommend it as a hub from which to enjoy Clifden and Connemara.

Lovely house which is tastefully decorated. Good for families as it is well located in the town but very quiet. The garden is well kept and the kitchen well stocked though would recommend the frying pans are replaced. The fireplaces are open so will smell slightly dusty if you’re not used to that but the house itself is very clean.

Excellent location

We just returned from a one week stay at this property. The location is excellent in the Centre of Clifden. There is a short but quite steep hill up to the property but as it is so short it wasnt a problem. The house was very homely with plenty of space. The garden is very secure if you are bringing a small animal with you and it has a parking space outside the house.

Great house

This is a terrific house in a great spot. It's also dog friendly which made it ideal for us. The only thing to be aware of is that it sits at the top of a very steep hill.

une charmante maison irlandaise

Nous avons loué pour un long weekend cette maison pour 4 couples. Nous avons été ravis. Les 4 chambres sont spacieuses ainsi que les salles de bains. La Maison est très bien équipée : beaucoup d'équipement et de matériel dans la cuisine ( à voir la cafetière traditionnelle qui arrive en fin de vie...) l'emplacement est idéal : au pied des commerces et des pubs , tout en étant un peu à l'écart et donc très tranquille . Bref : je recommande !!

Lovely old house in a fantastic location. Literally one minute walk from centre of village but really quiet. House has everything you need and the most comfortable beds ever! Lovely sunny patio area. Would happily stay there again. So much to see and do around Clifden too.

Perfect location.

We loved the house and the location. It is an old house and the weather was cold, so it was difficult to make it cosy. Surely not an issue in the summer I am sure.

....da fehlen einem fast schon die Worte. Das Haus ist lt. der sehr freundlichen Vermieterin das älteste Haus in Clifden und hat einen tollen Charme. Sehr viel Platz, sehr schöne, stilvolle Zimmer, sehr bequeme Betten, tolle Ausstattung der Küche, eine wunderbare Sitzecke im Garten mit Grillmöglichkeit, eine tolle Lage (dreimal umfallen und man ist im Pub). Der Preis ist gerechtfertigt. Klare Empfehlung.

August 2017 Hill House holiday

We absolutely loved the house, fab layout, location, bedding etc, and Connemara Lettings did a great job. Just a few small things - the toilets seem to clog quite easily, if that can't be fixed then a plunger would have been a great addition. And there were a few lights not working. And it would have been lovely if the bushes close to the house and outdoor table were well cut back to bring the garden into the house and into use more.
