Great apartment, but lots of road noise
The apartment itself is very nice. With 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths it was the perfect size for our family. Very clean, modern/new decor, friendly staff at rental office. Our one complaint is that in the apartment location is described as "quiet", but it is actually very loud. The apartment is in a great location, and you are able to access Ondaretta and Playa de la Concha beaches easily, and there is a bus stop and taxi stand for good transportation options right in front of the building. However, it does sit on a main road at a busy intersection, which is pretty heavily trafficked. Since there is no AC or fans we needed to open the windows at night. The front bedroom sits right on the road, so you can hear cars, trucks/buses, and motorcycles all night. The back bedrooms face a small square, which has a restaurant that operates until 1 or 2 in the morning, and seems to be a place where people hang out until well after midnight. Even with the windows closed, it is still loud, and without AC, rather warm and uncomfortable, making it really difficult to get a good, restful sleep. We requested fans for the bedrooms to keep air circulating, but only 1 was delivered. Overall, it's a really nice apartment and we would love to stay there again because of its size, but the lack of AC and the noise will probably have us looking at different options. We did stay during peak tourist season, so maybe another time of year would be less loud. Other points: very low hot water pressure in front bathroom, but strong in back bedroom, very clean on arrival, cleaning packet is a very nice touch with sponge, 2 laundry tabs, dishwasher tabs, and dish soap. List of local markets/stores for basics like water would have been very helpful.
