Kitchen/Dining Room:16' x 14'4” A large, bright living space fitted with a country style fully fitted kitchen including fully integrated dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer. There is also an electric hob, oven, microwave oven and Sage coffee machine. Ariosa coffee provided. Granite worktops and a double Belfast sink and marble flooring complete the kitchen.
Living Room: 17'6”x12'. Spacious living room with oak wooden floors and a multifuel stove set into the chimney breast. Sofa, coffee table, satellite TV/DVD/Video player and stereo.
Downstairs Bathroom: 9' x 6'3” Marble floor with wet room shower , WC and wash hand basin. Electric towel rail and underfloor heating.

Bucket list trip with Dad and his Daughters.

We absolutely loved the cottages! We ordered a dinner on the night of our arrival and it was delicious. Our communication with Paula was superb. She answered all our questions. The resident cat was so adorable and my sister loved her visits!! We loved the fireplace as our 83 dad was always cold! The shower was hard to maintain the temp, however we would recommend your beautiful cottages to everyone and would stay again!!

The place was well kept and clean. Had a nice little basket of eggs, milk, bread, etc. waiting for us. Living room was comfy, bedrooms as well. Had a couple uncontrollable issues that were remedied right away. The hostess was kind and helpful. Things to note:The walls are thin. Fine if you’re a heavy sleeper but if you aren’t, and your neighbors come back at midnight or 2:30am and stay up for hours banging furniture in the kitchen, then you may not be able to sleep well. Happened to us 2 nights in a row and was not cool since we had a 8 hour flight early the last morning.Also something to note that is not noted on the listing. There is a common area outside the back of several of the rentals. The common area next to ours happened to be tables/chairs and a BBQ. Other neighbors used it later in the evening and were hanging out drinking and cooking until close to 10pm. Had I known about the place I rented having a common area next to me, I most definitely would have chosen another location and/or another rental within the same complex. Knowing would have been helpful. Parking is very small and limited. Hostess did allow for parking in front of unit if the parking is full. If you have a rental car that is a bit bigger than a mini, the parking is very tight. Just to keep in mind.

Super Location - Wonderful Hosts

I can not say enough about our wonderful week at the FORGE! Location was serene and calming, with easy access to ancient history sites and a smooth trip to Dublin and Airport! Accommodations appeared rustic but had all modern conveniences available. Loved the attention to Eco-Friendliness in so many areas. Great place for multiple family groups! Thank you Paula and Team.

When Conor and Paula went on a holiday to Devon in the UK in 1998, they stayed in a converted farm yard and enjoyed the experience so much that when they purchased their home in Ireland in 1999 they immediately saw the potential in the farm yard attached to their house. It wasn't until their 3 children had all started school and Paula had a bit more time on her hands that they decided to convert the courtyard in to the beautiful development of 8 cottages that it is today.

This has been a labour of love and every detail has been carefully thought out by Conor and Paula so that now these cottages have become a haven of peace and tranquility away from the stresses of today's hectic lifestyle.

They also are a fantastic base for exploring all that Ireland's Ancient East has to offer as they are so close to the many tourist sites in the region and Dublin airport is only 30 minutes away.

Why they chose this property

Conor and Paula fell in love with this property when they moved back from the UK with their 3 small children in 1998. They spent a year restoring their own house and then in 2006 they spent 18 months renovating the courtyard to fulfil their dream or running this business from home.

What makes this property unique

Decoy Country Cottages is ideally located in the heart of The Boyne Valley and so makes a perfect base for exploring the wealth of local historical sites in our vicinity, Dublin, the surrounding counties and beyond. Nothing is too far away even Cork, Belfast or Galway

We are 30 mins Dublin airport so this makes us an ideal base whether you are just getting away from it all, on an activity break or having a group or family gathering. Conveniently located just 5 minutes from Junction 7 of the new M3 motorway, it has never been easier to get to Decoy Country Cottages no matter where you are coming from.

The town of Navan is just 10 minutes away and here you will everything to keep you entertained during your stay with pubs, restaurants, a library, cinema, theatre, countless coffee shops, book shops, shopping centre and parks and cycle tracks.

If you want to go further afield, Dublin is 40 minutes away, Belfast 2 hours and Galway and Cork are 2.5 hours away.
