Villa Margherita - Farmhouse with private pool

Charming independent villa with private swimming-pool situated in panoramic location, on the hills around the beautiful medieval town of Cortona, approx. 750 m above sea level. This property is surrounded by beautiful woods and offers tastefully furnished interiors and a cosy atmosphere. The location is ideal to enjoy the peace of the Tuscan landscape and at the same time to visit the most important historical cities of the area.
The access to the property is via an unpaved but well-maintained road.
Distances: the small village of Portole with food shops 6 km away, Cortona with al kinds of shops 13 km, Città di Castello and Arezzo approx. 40 km. Lake Trasimeno is about 30 km away.
At guests’ disposal: furnished garden, beautiful irregular-shaped swimming-pool (ca. 7 x 14 m – maximum depth 2,4 m), veranda equipped with tables and chairs for “al fresco” dining, barbecue. Use of a washing-machine and ironing facilities. Parking with the grounds.
Extra Services: Baby bed available on request. Upon request chef service available for nice Tuscan dinners.

beautiful holiday home in the hills

Villa Margherita is beautifully situated in the mountains, it is about 6 degrees cooler than in the valley, which makes it wonderful in the summer. The pool is fantastic and offers breathtaking views. The owner goes to great lengths to make guests feel comfortable. During the week you can visit the restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food for a good price. We had a great holiday.

Eine sehr liebe Besitzerin verwaltet vor Ort das Haus, wohnt direkt in der Nähe und bemüht sich sehr den Aufenthalt angenehm zu gestalten. Dieses Haus ist für die heißen Sommermonate zu empfehlen. Es liegt 30min mit dem Auto von Cortona auf dem Berg. Das sollte man unbedingt beachten. Totale Einsamkeit, keine Infrastruktur etc. Wer es also ruhig und abgelegen mag ist hier richtig aufgehoben. Im Frühjahr, Spätsommer und Herbst eher weniger, da es dort oben recht kühl und ungemütlich werden kann.

Nicht geeignet für weniger gutes Wetter

1. Objekt liegt sehr abgelegen, man braucht 25 Autominuten, bis man im nächsten Ort (Cortona) ist. 2. Bei wolkigem bis regnerischen Wetter ist es im Haus kalt und klamm (ein Beispiel: das Salz klumpt sogar in der geschlossenen Packung). Die Heizung wird nur über den Kamin betrieben, so dass für den erforderlichen Dauerbetrieb ständig Holz nachgelegt werden müsste. Wir sind nach einer Woche vorzeitig abgereist. Fazit: Nur geeignet, wenn von vornherein feststeht, dass während des gebuchten Zeitraums nur schönes Wetter ist!

Hello, We are really sorry to hear that this wasn't the holiday you had anticipated. Distances from villages and towns are clearly specified in the website and the use of heating in June is not allowed by Italian law, I am afraid. We are truly sorry you left earlier than due. If only aware of your discomfort we could have helped with fan heater and extra blankets.

Villa Margharita with its surroundings are amazing. It is comfortably equipped and people find everything they need for vacation there. The large pool with sun beds provides a pleasant place to relax, from which there is an incredible view of beautiful hills around, breathtaking views of the landscape and the sunset. But also it is Margherita's family, living in the close villa, who gives the place it's charm beauty. They all are very helpful, generous and really nice. They make you feel welcomed in their restaurant, where you can taste so delicious Italian dinner - I so recommend it. There was no problem with anything even though their communication was from 99% in Italian, but at least one learns some new Italian words :) For sure, we'll come back again.

Ganz tolle Villa für einen fantastischen Familienurlaub. Das haus ist gemütlich und der Garten auf mehreren Ebenen, sehr schön angelegt. Cortona ist wunderschön und die Umgebung auch. Aber einfach mal eine Woche am Pool liegen und die Aussicht geniessen, grillen und essen und besten Wein trinken muss auch mal sein! Dafür ist das Haus ideal!

Villa Margherita is situated in Bagnole, up in the mountains near Cortona. It can be reached by driving an unpaved road ending up at a small community in an 'agritursimo' setting. The house is surrounded by trees, providing pleasant shadows during hot summer times. Villa Margehrita is decorated nicely with all necessary amenities. The view from the house to the area is sensational, panoramic. The pool is large and nice and for exclusive use, it is situated about 30 meter away from the house, and does provide almost, but not full privacy. The pool is kept clean by the housekeeper on a regular basis. The owners of the house are very, very friendly and helpful. The nearest restaurant or supermarket can only be found 20 minutes drive away. We really loved our stay at Casa Margherita. Thank you Serena!

nice place, everything was in the house If you want a place for your self, this is it. Nice pool, it isn't directly near the house, so you can't see the house - pool. The view is excellent!
