About this property

Penthouse view of the Caribbean with AC, WiFi, easy beach access!

Enjoy privacy and exceptional views from this fourth (top) floor penthouse unit, centrally located along Half Moon Bay. The beachside terrace is a perfect place to watch the sea turtles, schools of tropical fish, osprey, pelicans, and other marine wildlife. The breezes come off the bay, and all is quiet and private.

The unit offers a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, coffee maker, and all appliances needed to prepare meals or enjoy snacks and cold drinks on the beach. Off of the kitchen is the dining area with seating for five. From the living and dining areas, you can enjoy the view of Half Moon Bay through a wall of windows and sliding doors leading to the beachside terrace. The terrace is furnished with a hammock and Adirondack chairs for you to enjoy the breezes and sounds of the surf.

To the rear of the unit are two bedrooms. The master bedroom is spacious and private, with a large master bath and king bed. In the master bedroom, there is a large television with DISH Satellite service. The guest bedroom has one queen and a twin bed with a private bath. AC in bedrooms and living area.

Luna Azul is one of our favorite condominium properties. It has a great central location within walking distance of Akumal's Yal-Ku Lagoon, restaurants, and other services. The management here is excellent and always takes great care of our guests.

Kindly Note: South winds may bring Sargasso Seaweed to some beaches throughout the Caribbean, including the Rivera Maya. While the situation is hard to predict for each specific week and area, we would like you to be aware as there is the potential to impact the beach and water entry.

The Riviera Maya is full of natural beauty, places to explore and opportunities for outdoor activities. We have a great list of activities and adventures completely unaffected by the arrival of sargasso that we would love to share with you. There is so much to see and do in this special place, we know that you will have an amazing and memorable vacation!

Great vacation in Akumal

We enjoyed our stay in Luna condominiums in Akumal. The property is right on the beach and walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Akumal offers an ambiance of calmness in the touristy region.

Amazing location

We loved our penthouse condo. We had sunrise over the ocean and sunset views every day. The location was perfect on half moon bay, close to restaurants and the lagoon. I’d stay here again for sure!!

Great Location on Half Moon Bay

Well-equipped, clean and with one of the best views of the bay. Quiet, east walking distance to town and restaurants. Very pleasant helpful staff. Only drawback is no closet space or drawers for clothing, except small chest of drawers in second bedroom - odd for such an otherwise well equipped condo.

It wasn’t pleasant to sit on the beach and have all of the residents of the unite on the first floor smoking non-stop right behind me every day!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I stayed for 3 nights over a weekend in early June. Overall, the condo was comfortable and had what we needed. However, the currents seem to bring the sargassum in the bay right to the building. The grounds crew only cleans it up occasionally, making the beach and patio areas unusable. (Other condos on the bay clean their beaches much more frequently.) Apparently, property owners know this because we were the only people in the entire building. I realize that the management company can't control the currents, but they could have cleaned up the sargassum more regularly or been up front about the fact that the beach is unusable during the summer.

Amazing retreat

This building is perfect. The views from the balcony and even the staircase are gorgeous. Everything was comfortable and clean. There were some very minor issues (sliding door lock didn't work, water seeped in under the door when it rained) but the property management crew took care of everything immediately. I have absolutely no complaints!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved both units 7 & 8. They are both on the 4th floor so be ready to walk but that was fine with us. The views were worth it. Akumal Direct was excellent to work with, especially David Placencia. He did everything from finding us tennis courts to getting us covid tests. Also Sunshine management was very nice, especially Alex.
