About this property
Delightful romantic gite, ideal for couples.10% off Brittany Ferries.
This gorgeous property is situated in Northern France one and a half hours drive south from Caen. Set in the most tranquil countryside, surrounded by fields and great scenery. The gite is on one split level dividing the kitchen and bathroom from the lounge and bedroom. Ideal for those who struggle with stairs. The gite has a double four poster bed with a very comfortable mattress. There is a TV with English and French channels, DVD and CD player. It has a modern fully fitted kitchen and bathroom comprising of a bath and shower. Electric heating throughout, keeping the gite warm and cosy during those winter months. A private driveway and secluded garden with table and chairs and portable BBQ, for alfresco dining, allowing you to unwind and enjoy the peace and tranquility. The area provides a walker's and birdwatcher's paradise, as well as great cycling opportunities. In our Village of Barenton, you can follow the disused converted railway line for miles in both directions, stopping for lunch and a well earned rest. Walk into Barenton for your fresh baguettes or drive 10- 15 minutes into the local town of Mortain. This town has a large outdoor swimming pool (seasonal). Your trip would not be complete without a visit to the wonderful scenic Petite and Grand falls or Petite Chapelle (small chapel) housing an American war monument with panoramic views stretching for miles. Mortain also has a disused monastery which you can visit, this was one of the last working ones in France. Other places of interest include Mont St Michel approximately 1 and 1/4 hours drive away. Normandy is famous for its beeches and war Museums. Pay a visit to Bagnoles-de-l-orne, a delightful and only thermal spa in the whole of Northwest France. There is so much to do and see in the area such as the Bayeux tapestry, Domfront, Saint- Malo, Dinan, the Camembert factory, with the Abbey. Your trip would not be complete without a visit to the weekly traditional French market at saint-Hilaire, purchasing foods, clothing, and home goods. Not to mention the Vide-Graniers/Brocantes markets to pick up a bargain. Alternatively, stay in and totally relax, read a book by the romantic wood burner. Purchase the most delicious organic chicken eggs locally from our friends neighboring English farmer's. A lovely secluded garden with table and chairs for alfresco dining and deck chairs to sunbath or watch the sun go down. You are welcomed with a bottle of red wine and chocolates. If you wish to travel with family or friends, why not consider our sister gite Maison de Lilli (ref; 6871522)titled 'An exquisite romantic gite ideal for couples'.If you decide to bring your own bed linen and towels( duvet and pillows provided) I can apply a 25 euro deduction if you give me early notice. Additionally a 10% discount on Brittany ferry crossings using membership number F01T2C. Full directions will be emailed on booking.
