About this property
Sperlinga kept - Il Campanile
In a historic-pleasing rural and very tranquil setting within a private property of about 70 hectares, in the lemon groves and overlooking the sea, this apartment offers a charming base for the visit of the many local places of interest Palermo and its beauty (15 km), the ancient citadel of Solunto (3 km), the historic villas of Bagheria (3 km), the beautiful coves of Mongerbino (4 km), the charming Cefalu (60 km), and the most famous Greek temples.
The house is part of a historic quadrangle whose first building dates from the fifteenth century, which in the seventeenth century it was used by the noble family De Stefano, and where you can find some historical information on wikipedia.
It is spread over two floors; the entrance is on the ground floor; throughout the living area it is on the first floor and has, among other things, a large terrace, intimate and sunny, where you can sunbathe, have lunch or dinner under the umbrella and enjoy the spectacular, front, Gulf of Spain. The living room has a sofa bed for two, through which you can expand the hospitality of the house to 4 people. The kitchen is large, spacious, inviting and bright: a space designed for cooking in fancy, come together for the pleasures of the table and spend time to make "small talk." On the second floor there is the master bedroom, very special and with a feature window on the bell tower of the Immacolata church. The house is equipped with all comforts including: refrigerator, washing machine, dryer, heat, iron, clothes dryer, dishwasher, oven, 4 burner stove, plates, glasses, cutlery and crockery, lounge chairs, umbrellas, pleasantly decorated , with the possibility of reserved parking and availability of internet and wifi. In front of the main entrance, inside the courtyard, you can park the guests' cars.
For large groups of people (up to 12 people) who want to spend a holiday together, Tenuta Sperlinga offers two other adjoining apartments the apartment "The Bell".
The wealth of this place is the atmosphere of peace that you can enjoy throughout the year, in the brightness of the days that characterizes the area and especially in the beautiful coastal views in which to wander the view, from the tip of Solanto (pretty and ancient fishing village), passing through Cefalu and its lighthouse, up to the Messina coast, where it is possible to see the Aeolian islands, in conditions of good visibility.
Guests can have access to the property, the house and the car park 24 hours 24. During the day you can take advantage of the side roads crofting included in private property for walks in the surrounding countryside. For all indoor and outdoor spaces will require guests to avoid behavior that might be offensive or annoying neighbor.
Guests will be greeted and assisted when necessary during their stay, so that they have a comfortable and relaxing stay, in full respect of their privacy, space and time. We are always happy to make suggestions and useful information to make more pleasant the stay at the Tenuta Sperlinga.
Some historical facts about Sperlinga seal (available on wikipedia) suggest the charm that this place can inspire. The first plant of the structure was born around the Tower Spatafora, a sturdy tower of the fifteenth century, responsible for the defense of agricultural funds. In 1632 Carlo Maria Ventimiglia Spatafora wrote that the Tower "... with his other homes ... 'still exists today formed a quadrangle. The name of Sperlinga Tower is documented by the mid-eighteenth century and refers to the marriage of Oliva Spatafora took place in 1652 - of whose dowry was part of the tower and the adjoining fief - with Giovanni Stefano Oneto, Duke of Sperlinga appointed by King Charles II Spain in 1666. The mid-nineteenth century the villa became the property of the barons of Palermo De Stefano; around 1899 the Tower and the complex were the subject of an architectural makeover characterized by considerable affinity with the Villa Igiea designed by architect Ernesto Basile; in one of the rooms are wall decorations with the Four seasons attributed to Onofrio Tomaselli. In 1919 Baron Gaetano De Stefano, in the financial meltdown, was found to sign the compromise partial sale of Sperlinga Fund.
The surroundings are rich in history, as the whole of Sicily. Wherever you can find interesting historical traces of different ages, and the limit is only the desire to seek them.
The ancient citadel of Solunto, the eighteenth-century villas of Bagheria (the famous so-called Villa of Monsters or Villa Palagonia), the Museum Guttuso Villa Cattolica, Castle Solanto, Filangeri Palace (seat of the municipality of Santa Flavia), cathedral Monreale, Arabic-Norman churches of Palermo and its cathedral, the Massimo and Politeama theaters in Palermo, the Palatine chapel, Cefalu and the medieval village, the temples of Segesta and Selinunte, Agrigento, are all extremely interesting sites, but the list may stretch out of proportion.
The best way to move, starting from Sperlinga estate, is using his vehicle; the Palermo-Catania motorway is only 3 km; Santa Flavia country station is located just 2 km, and from there you can find links to the rest of Sicily; to reach by train Palermo just a 15 min. The airport of Punta Raisi can be reached by car in 50 minutes or by public transport in about 2 hours.
The nearby village of Solanto offers, through its bathing facilities, access to exclusive and equipped beach (for a fee); here it will certainly be nice to spend the days between sunbathing, clear water and fascinating cliffs. Nevertheless, there are beaches and coves accessible free of charge, around the nearest coastline.
In the spring and autumn months these areas remain very enjoyable and temperate, and often these periods are preferable for those who does not hold the hot Sicilian summer sun.
The winter months are certainly less frequented by tourists, but for this you can better enjoy the tranquility and the most intimate spirit of the surrounding countryside. In this regard, being the home adequately heated, it still offers a comfortable residence.
For large groups of people (up to 12 people) who want to spend a holiday together, Tenuta Sperlinga offers two other adjoining apartments the apartment "The Bell".
