Casa da Lua is a contemporary, detached three-bedroom villa with infinity pool, on a fully secure plot extending to over half an acre.

The villa is situated in Fojo, a rural, countryside location, only 5km (10 minute drive) from the charming town of Tavira, its beaches and golf courses. Faro airport is a thirty minute drive away.

The villa is approached via single track road, leading to an electric gate and entry phone system, and onward down a calcada driveway. There are stunning views towards Tavira and the coast. The villa's rear terrace offers views of the neighbouring vineyard. The grounds are host to carob trees, together with almond and olive trees.

The large, modern lounge and kitchen both open onto a terrace area close to the infinity pool (not heated). The property is presented to a high standard with several examples of vintage G-Plan/Nathan furniture.

The villa is well equipped both inside and out. There is a picnic table, outside dining table and chairs, together with barbeque, parasol and sun loungers. There is air conditioning to the living room and all three bedrooms, WiFi internet throughout and UK TV channels via Now TV. There is also a stereo/CD player.

As access to this rural villa is via track roads, please appreciate that the terrain is bumpy at points. It is perfectly accessible, but we'd suggest no larger than a family size car for ease of access.

The villa was a dream – exactly like in the photos. Everything was clean and the location very peaceful. The road to the villa was a bit bumpy, but absolutely manageable. The only minor downside was the ants.The beds were comfortable, and everything you might need was available. The absolute highlight, however, was the view: cooking in the kitchen while looking out at the pool and, in the distance, the sea – simply beautiful!I would definitely book the villa again.Thank you for the wonderful stay at Casa da Lua.

Very nice holiday home in perfect location

Beautifull holiday home on perfect location. We loved the pool and the view. One drawback is that the house gets very hot in the summer and the airco’s cant keep up with the heat. The outside furniture should be better for a villa like this. But we absolutely loved our stay here!

Thank you Henri for your review. We take on board what you say about the outside furniture and are looking to add to it for next season. As for the air conditioning, we are somewhat confused as there hasn't been any issue with it all summer. It is wise to keep the blinds down during the day to keep rooms cool and then, combined with the air conditioning, the house should stay at a comfortable temperature. We will get this checked now to be sure, but we've never had any issue with previous guests. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay though!

Wonderful Villa with everything you could possibly want.

Fantastically fitted out modern villa with infinity pool and fantastic views over rolling hills towards coast line in very secluded location, just perfect peace and quiet. This hidden gem is a little tricky to access though the track leading upto it is very narrow and rough going well worth it though spot on thankyou 👌

A lovely relaxing stay

We had a great stay at the villa - the rural location means it is very peaceful and that was exactly what we were looking for! But also only 15 mins drive to Tavira which was so beautiful! Sarah was incredibly responsive and helpful when we had a few queries. Would thoroughly recommend this place - but if there are more than four of you, I would advise two cars rather than an SVU as the track is narrow in places. 😎😘

very nice and beautiful house. The view was beautiful! the beds are very small, 140x200 mtrs. no decent coffee maker, we had to get to Tavira for a normal coffee.

We have just returned from a three week holiday at this villa. It was exactly as described. It is an isolated but secure location about 15 minutes drive from Tavira. The approach for the last mile is an unmade road which needs to be taken carefully. It is well equipped with everything you might need for an enjoyable holiday. The pool is fantastic and although unheated it warmed up considerably in the heat we experienced during our stay. Our only constructive suggestions that we would make was that the beds, linen and pillows were not to the same high standard as the rest of the facilities.

Excellent villa; so well equipped.

Beautiful modern villa in such a peaceful remote location. The driveway is nerve wracking especially arriving in the dark for the first time - we got used to it quite quickly though. Superbly equipped (one of the best we’ve stayed in for that) light airy and super spacious. Excellent to all have own bathroom. Owners very responsive and helpful. Pool is great, lovely views. If there was one thing that could have made it even better for us it would be a more comfortable/better quality bed.. we slept in the downstairs bedroom with a very firm metal frame and one of those mattresses where if one person moves the other is bounced about. With so much space in the bedrooms..bigger, better quality beds would take this to 5 star property easily. We had a lovely holiday thank you …. Overall would most definitely recommend this villa.

Great, modern villa to relax and enjoy Portugal

We've spend 12 nights at the villa together with our three kids. The villa is very modern, well equipped, clean beautifully located and surrounded by orange trees. We can recommend the villa for family vacations, there is sufficient space for 6 people, three bathrooms, balconies and a nice (non-heated) pool. Airconditioning is available. Only one word of caution which addresses the drive up to the house. Since the way is not paved and narrow, and especially the upper part close to the house can provide a challenge for normal cars. Hence I recommend to rent a smaller (not too wide) 4x4 SUV with sufficient ground clearance to avoid damaging the car from below. Overall a very good experience. We'll come again.

Little hidden gem in Tavira

First of all great contact with both the owners even though they were on holiday thankyou.. We wanted to see if we could find a holiday for our family 4 adults n 1 child and believe me going through travel sites all way too much so decided to go through vrbo and really glad we did, this villa maybe on the outskirts of Tavira in a little place called Fojo its well worth the drive (all be it a little nervy at night) you would need to hire a car or a suv to get to this location but definitely worth it.. Pool which i could never get my daughter out of 3 spacious bedrooms all ensuite all very clean, very clean throughout and what makes it better is all the main rooms have AC what a godsend... we did have one tiny issues ants buts we soon learned that if you open food make sure its either in the fridge or in a zip locked bag the little buggers Will defo be looking to come back here again

Alles wat nodig was voor ons verblijf was ook aanwezig in dit luxe vakantiehuis met veel privacy. De weg er naar toe is wel een beetje een uitdaging. Heerlijk zwembad, mooi uitzicht vanaf het huis tot aan de Atlantisch Oceaan bij Tavira. Eigenaar zeer rap met het beantwoorden van vragen.

Great property

We had a great week at this villa. Everything we needed was there. Pool was as it gorgeous as it looks in the photos. Internal layout worked well, kitchen is especially beautiful & the kids loved having access to UK WIFI & TV. Hosts were very responsive to a couple of small issues & everything was sorted quickly without any hassle which was ideal. Would definitely recommend.

PRESTATIONS A REVOIR

Très belle villa, dommage que la personne qui nous a acceuilli n'est pas pris le temps de nous expliquer tout le fonctionnement de la maison, elle est rester à peine 5 mn. le lave vaisselle ne fonctionnait pas, les parasols étaient cassés nous avons du les réparer, la piscine à verdi au bout d'une semaine, et quand on a réclamé ont nous a répondu que l'on avait pas payé pour le nettoyage de celle-ci. Le cadre est magnifique et calme. Par contre le chemein pour y accéder c'est galère!!!

Our comprehensive welcome pack offers a good amount of information for a stay at the villa. Our meet and greet lady, Jane, would also have been very happy to help the guests with any further queries, but unfortunately they advised that they didn't speak English and she doesn't speak French! We were unaware before the guests arrived that the dishwasher was broken. The guests informed us of this and we arranged for it to be repaired. Appointment times and delayed parts meant it wasn't possible to fix until after the guests had departed. Our pool and maintenance assistant did come to the house to try to fix it, but we needed to book the specialist. As for the parasols, we ask guests to put these down in high winds and when away from the villa. Our house manager suspects that the guests were at fault for not complying with house rules and these parasols have subsequently been replaced. The swimming pool is cleaned weekly. The guests suggested it be cleaned every day and we responded that if they required this, they would need to pay for the additional service. Our pool assistant sent us videos and photographs of the condition of the pool during the stay and there was no issue to remedy. As for the track to the villa, we clearly state that the properly is approached on a single track, in a rural countryside location. Of course to enjoy the benefit of the tranquil location, one cannot expect wide open access roads, but the route is very accessible. Perhaps guests who cannot tolerate a countryside location should look elsewhere in future!

Stunning view

The villa is in a quiet remote location with wonderful views all the way to the coast. We had a few issues when we arrived but these were addressed promptly by the manager and owners. The villa is a functional well-equipped holiday home, but the outside furnishing was somewhat disappointing. The internet works well most of the time although we did have several hours when it cut out. Overall it is lovely place and with some improvement would be a 5 star accommodation.

Mooi maar uitrusting buiten kan beter.

Mooie woning en mooie omgeving. Bereikbaarheid is op het eind van de weg zeer slecht. Hebben er 2 dagen in de morgen zonder water gezeten wat vervelend is als je met een klein kind zit en ge u 's morgens wil douchen. Zwakke uitrusting wat betreft keukengerei. Meubelen voor buiten bestaat uit een zitbank met tafel. Geen deftig buitenmeubilair om aan te zitten. Voor de rest zeer mooie woning .

Thank you for your review. We believe the kitchen is satisfactorily equipped. There are plenty of glasses, mugs, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. Everything you would need including dishwasher and washing machine. As you were fully aware we had a temporary issue with the swimming pool auto top up valve which was sorted as soon as possible. We kept you fully updated on this.

Wunderbares Haus in ruhiger Gegend mit Meerblick

Wir verbrachten eine wundervolle Woche in der großzügigen Casa da Lua. Alles war einfach perfekt: die Kontakte mit den Eigentümern, die Übergabe durch nette Engländerin vor Ort, die moderne und sehr gute Ausstattung des Hauses (selbst Sonnenschirme für den Strand waren vorhanden), der geheizte Pool, die Aussicht und die Ruhe (ganz gelegentlich fliegt mal ein Flugzeug über das Haus).Wir waren nur zu viert, aber auch zu sechst hat man sehr viel Platz und die drei Balkone, sowie die Terrasse bieten bei Bedarf persönliche Plätze. In der Umgebung lässt sich einiges entdecken (Tavira, das Hinterland, Faro, Estoi.....). Zum Strand Ilha de Tavira sind es insgesamt mit der Fähre ca. 45 min. Nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Lidl, Aldi, Pingo Doce) sind ca. 10 -15 min entfernt. Ein eigenes Auto ist unbedingt erforderlich. Der einzig kleine Nachteil ist das letzte Stück der Anfahrt zum Haus: ca. 1,5 km geht es über Feldwege. Dafür empfiehlt es sich, ein nicht zu großes Auto zu leihen ( mit unserem Opel Corsa war es kein Problem). Alles in allem können wir das Haus nur empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

A Casa da Lua é uma Moradia de alto standing, que oferece muita tranquilidade conforto e segurança , a propriedade é completamente vedada e é longe de tudo , muito bem equipada a todos os níveis com cozinha que possui electrodomésticos de alto de gama, o ar condicionado é muito bom , piscina excelente.Wi-Fi de muita boa qualidade. Relaxing stay with a gorgeous view

We had a fantastic week at this villa. It is in a peaceful location with stunning views from the infinity pool out to the coast. The grounds were very well kept and the villa was really well equipped and comfortable. It's a great base for exploring tavira and the algarve. We would certainly love to visit again!
