Bad interaction with the owner

I was going to let bygones be bygones but the owner just gave us a bad review as guests so I feel I must put forward our side of the story. After we checked out of the apartment the owner tried to get us to pay a big cleaning bill. We felt she was being unreasonable. We did have a small dog in the apartment that a friend brought over for a couple hours not knowing that pets are not allowed in the apartment. As soon as we found out the dog was not allowed the dog was removed and never return to the premises. We felt the owner was unreasonable and tried to use this slight infraction to extort money from us. The apartment was only marginally clean and needed a deep cleaning before we arrived as her guests and she tried to bill us for this deep cleaning that was needed anyway. We have rented on VRBO many many times and are respectful renters who made an honest mistake.

You were accommodated at every turn, early checking days out organised, the property clearly states no pets I cannot be held accountable for your not reading what you agreed to. The dog was casting hair & was all over the furniture in the wooden rug & the bed cover, hence the need to deep clean you show no consideration for others who come after who may be allergic to pets & the apartment is advertised as No PETS for that very reason. The apartment was spotless on arrival as the previous guest gave us a 5* review for cleanliness will verify now you are just being nasty it took 3 people 6 hours to clear up after you there were permanent marks left on both the tiles and the wooden work tops which had they been wiped immediately would not have left any marks. The dog hair was a nightmare to clean hence the cost which was passed on due to your own lack of care whilst in the property. Other hosts beware no respect for the hosts property.

I have lived here for over 15 years, & probably the best thing about living here is the central location everything is within 5 mins walk but yet it’s quiet here and the coast path is a walk I never tire of it, two walk along it are never the same it has something different every day, the only constant is the breathtaking beauty of the North Down coast

The apartment overlooks Bangor Marina and Pickie fun park, it is less than 5 minute walk to Skippingstone Beach, where there is a shelter for sea swimmers to use. If you want to have everything on your doorstep this is the place to choose.
