About this property
POMEGRANATE HOLIDAY HOME SCIACCA
The house is located on the edge of a large park of about 2 thousand square meters, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, under whose foliage you can relax on the deck chairs perhaps with a good book or simply to listen to nature with its sounds.
In addition to the main bedroom with a double bed, the house has a mezzanine with 2 single beds, bathroom, kitchen, and a private veranda that directly overlooks the lawn, where you can enjoy excellent lunches in direct contact with nature.
Next to the house we find the laundry area and the barbecue where you can grill the excellent Sicilian products, and why not the fruit and vegetables that can be found in the garden or in the main vegetable garden, courgettes, aubergines, tomatoes, peppers .... and then also the peaches the watermelons the cantaloupe the melons ..... the fresh eggs that collect the guests directly, and the fruit slushes, and then the fish and pizzas of Sciacca cannot be missing.
To welcome the guests there will be Antonella who is the owner / person in charge of the structure, and then you will find Salvatore called Totò who takes care of the tasting side.
In fact, it is he who during the stay entices guests with his specialties.
Inspired by the evening he will prepare the "pane cunzato" a Sicilian specialty, which consists of stuffing hot bread with the typical products of the area, such as the oil of his company, the fragrant salted anchovies, oregano salt pepper and sliced tomatoes.
Then it's up to the anchovies seasoned on a plate with oregano lemon oil and onion.
And yet olives, artichokes and "passuluna" or black olives and fresh cheese.
There is also the evening of sweets with cannoli filled at the moment with sweetened ricotta and with chocolate and pistachio flakes.
But let's not forget the slush evening that Antonella prepares for you.
Any for all tastes, you can taste it with white and tasty lemon, with red and inviting wild strawberries, mandarin and then the house specialty the mulberry granita with a strong taste and an intense amaranth color.
If there are families with children and it will always be him who will take the whole brigade around the estate with the tractor to pick the vegetables or pay a visit to the "masseria", to see the cow eating the hay, the goat jumping to the inside the enclosure the chickens that go around undisturbed eating here and there, and then at last all to collect the eggs to bring each one to their own house.
When staying in Sciacca you will find the ideal place to visit all of western Sicily.
It only takes 45 minutes to get to Agrigento, here you can visit the Valley of the Temples, to go back in time, to immerse yourself in the past and relive the glories of ancient Greece.
The same thing can be done moving towards Castelvetrano, 20 minutes by car you arrive on the hill where the archaeological site of Selinunte is located, and you can admire the Acropolis of ancient Greece.
Just move towards the city of Segesta to admire another Greek temple located in the archaeological area of Calatafimi Segesta, an Italian municipality in the province of Trapani in Sicily.
With an hour's drive you can visit the city of Palermo, the capital of the island rich in history and monuments to visit, and from here you can move to Monreale another Sicilian pearl.
But the fantastic tip of western Sicily cannot be overlooked, Trapani with its famous salt pans, Erice the postcard city from which you can admire a fantastic panorama from its 751 meters high.
15 minutes away you reach the village of Sambuca di Sicilia elected the most beautiful village in Italy in 2016, here you can taste the traditional "Minni di virgini" and visit the famous Saracen alleys.
And after so much turning we cannot leave out the city of Sciacca, with its free beaches, its monuments dating back to all the dynasties that dominated this country, the crossroads of many sea routes, a place of passage with its customs, rich in history and traditions, ideal place to eat fresh fish in the countless restaurants and trattorias.
Not least are the pizzerias that entice passers-by with the typical smells.
In Sciacca, in addition to the historic center, you can also visit the enchanted Castle created by the unconventional genius of its owner Filippo Bentivegna obsessed with visions, which made him see faces everywhere, and Mount Kronio, which legend indicates as the Dedalo's Lair, with its unique vapor caves, the result of interesting studies by speleologists from all over the world.
For those who love diving, here is the ideal place to admire the unique backdrops of their kind, the Ferdinandea island named by the major scholars of the sector for its uniqueness, which emerged in 1831 following a volcanic eruption had a short life, in fact it sank again the following year. In the sea of Sciacca live colonies of coral, coral famous in the world, with a bright red color, which is worked in the many laboratories managed by highly qualified goldsmiths.
In the city there are about 40 churches all dedicated to the cult of Christianity.
Palaces and monuments of various periods and the famous walls with the gates of Sciacca, originally there were 5 gates now 3 remain, gates and walls delimited the city limits and protected it from enemies.
We will be happy to have you as guests, Sciacca is waiting for you, we will welcome you by offering you the best of everything.
