Perfect Quiet Getaway
What a perfect place for rest and relaxation. The schoolhouse had everything we needed for our quiet unplugged getaway. The house is beautifully decorated and oh so cozy. It really felt like home! The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meals as we choose to do. Many food/kitchen items had been left from previous vacationers. The fireplace made the living room cozy and warm and the couch with chase was super comfy. Our bedroom was perfect and the bed a dream to sleep on. We enjoyed walking the grounds, visiting our furry friends across the street, reading all the books and learning about the history of the little schoolhouse. This vacation spot works for an isolation getaway, or one that includes hiking, visiting wineries, local breweries, and Pennsylvania shops. We loved our time here and do look forward to returning!

A quick weekend away from the city
What a great little property. The schoolhouse was clean and well stocked with everything you could need. The perfect place for a quiet weekend away. Will miss the goats and donkeys coming to say hi each afternoon.

Perfect, tranquil stay!
Perfect place for peace and quiet (closest neighbors are deer, goats, and donkeys). 15 minutes from shopping and restaurants, 30 minutes from Jim Thorpe. Didn't have cell coverage, but provided Wifi worked perfectly. The home is nicely furnished, with a full kitchen, a patio for an evening glass of wine and deer watching, or a coffee in the morning with the birds.

Growing up within a quarter mile of both Kinder Hawk Schoolhouse and our current farm, Jim, has intimate knowledge of the Albany township/Kempton area. Our main business is Robertson's Renovations General Contracting. We specialize in renovating older homes. Kinder Hawk will eventually become our retirement home - but we are still too busy with other things, like volunteering for the US Fish & Wildlife banding birds of prey, or volunteering for Albany Township Historical Society, gardening and grandchildren! We would love to invite you to experience true old fashioned PA German farm hospitality and welcome you into the family!

Why they chose this property

Kinder Hawk Schoolhouse used to be a part of our 40 acre farm. After many years of educated local children then being converted into a private residence, we were fortunate to be able to purchase the schoolhouse in December of 2014 and add it back into our farm!

What makes this property unique

Private, unique, economical, quiet and very cozy and comfortable with outstanding views!
Equipped with your comfort in mind. You are welcomed with good old PA German hospitality. Great stop over for AT hikers or their family. Stop, rest up, do laundry and keep on trucking fully rested! Artists can paint to their heart's content from any spot on the property! Gorgeous scenic view, private walking paths. Nature right out your door.
