A little piece of paradise. Beautiful surroundings and site - the pungent smell of the forrest!; crystal-clear very small lake (canoe and paddle boat provided); very clean and well-maintained small cabin with all necessary amenities (remember : very small tv though, just a few TV stations, no wifi; but we knew this ahead so it is not a complain! :) ).
Carol and Larry, the owners, live on the same land, in the big house near the cabin, but are very discreet, and the landscaping is well done so you don't feel too close : beautiful tall trees, plants, flowers; two private decks to eat, read or just quietly watch the crystal-clear pond. The owners are really nice and helpful, while very discreet and not imposing. Ask them for advices, for ex. if you have hiking plans in the area - they know all the right directions (some hiking sites are extremely hard to find).
45-60 min. drive to beautiful Portland; 20-30 drive to grocery store. Nearby friendly "Maine Book store" on route 26 where we bought many (used) books. Very quiet county, beautiful little town of Norway nearby, beautiful nature.
Very restful vacation! Thank you!
