Right Downtown Grand Haven!

Thank you for the kind words made all the more special to me by the way you showed "love" to my little cottage. Anytime of year is a great time to visit Grand Haven, and of course, HYH in GH. I hope you will be able to return again with friends, girl friends, or even Quincy!

And, I love returning guests! I often get remarks on the location; one block from Washington, and one block from the Channel. Park your car and walk everywhere, from restaurants, to shops, and events taking place downtown. Then , back "Home" to HYH where you can sit on the front porch/deck and watch the world go by!

It was my pleasure to host you for this special time and provide a little extra (sparkling wine) to help celebrate the occasion! (I love it when guests let me know there is a special reason for coming to Grand Haven) I hope you took advantage of the beautiful sunsets over the "Lake" and were cozy in front of the fireplace. We know there are many great places to enjoy a romantic dinner in Grand Haven, so come again and explore our inviting little "hometown". I was so delighted that you chose HYH in GH for your first visit to Grand Haven! Your review of my little "cottage" certainly made my day, as do many who notice the "details" within: everything you need when you walk through the door, from House Book full of local information, notes posted in key places to help you find things and know things. Our "last pass" policy of making sure everything is in place and ready for your stay is key! The "walk everywhere" location is pretty good, too ;)

So glad you experienced the Grand Haven State Park/Beach! The rain helped you experience more of GH and the surrounding area. I think you packed a lot into your stay! It was so delightful to meet you and your family! I loved how your daughter didn't want to leave; made my day.

It was such a delight to be a part of the "BIG" celebration!!! Forgetting everything and making yourself at home is a BIG part of the Hang Your Hat experience. Finding all the comforts at home in Grand Haven has always been the goal of HYH in GH. So glad you found this to be true. Ya'll come again ;)

I am so glad that you decided to stay at Hang Your Hat in Grand Haven, especially for your first trip to our "Voted America's Happiest Seaside Town 2017" by Costal Living magazine. The city of Grand Haven does a wonderful job of welcoming guests, like you, to our beautiful city and sugar sand beaches: Grand Haven State Park, and Grand Haven City Beach. The bonus is that HYH in GH is just a short ride by car (1 mile) or a leisurely stroll down the boardwalk with lots of shops, benches and beautiful scenery along the way. Did you get ice cream at Captain Sunday, or snacks at the Pier Peddler? I especially like to just sit on the grassy shaded knoll a block from the cottage, and watch the people and boats go by. I often take a book and a beach chair from under the porch to enjoy this special place.

All my guests are the best, and I delight in making your stay at HYH in GH the best! I was so thankful to be right in town across the street at one of our many local shops unique to Grand Haven, when your call came through. Easily sorted out by being there, but also if you needed to use the spare hidden key :) Thank you for all your kind words that tell others about the house and it's location. It is the BEST!

My only regret is that I did not get to personally be able to meet you during your stay! I do love hosting guests, like you, who find HYH in GH a place to relax and recharge at for the days ahead. A Girl's Weekend is the perfect time to do this as you have found out. All the "extras" you mentioned are "standard" and my way of saying, "You're Home!" I look forward to meeting you during another stay :)

I do love hosting guests at my little cottage in downtown Grand Haven! Especially when they are guests like you!! It is always my pleasure to share my excitement about all our little city has to offer, and being so convenient to most of it is a double bonus. Thanks for sharing about how you can hear the Musical Fountain (since 1960) from the cottage, whether upstairs or down, or a 2 minute walk to the waterfront for viewing. I hope when you come next time the catwalk will be open! There's always something going on in Grand Haven year round, and HYH in GH is available , too.
