I came in from out of town for a family reunion that was at the Camano State Park campground. The neighborhood was a nice, quiet place to come back to after full days with my family.
Great stay! The location was good, and parking was surprisingly ample even with the truck, boat and car! Alan was very responsive and wonderful. Am looking forward to our next trip!
Clean easy to access and very plesant there were just 2 of us and there was plenty of room Very quiet area and the veiw was great. Would stay there again.
We loved our stay, very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The living area is nice and open, with a beautiful view of the water. The deck was wondering for having lunch and early supper in the sun. Thank you!
The house is in a nice location on the island. It wasn't particularly well appointed, the furniture was a hodgepodge of mismatched items, beds aren't great, too firm for us. Bathrooms could use with some updating, toilets reminded us of kindergarten. We found someone's underwear on the floor by the bed!
It was ok decor was very interesting with much tender loving care it would have made our stay more pleasing
Bed spreads were old and not fresh couch not comfortable at all tables and chairs mitch mayched i wSas not wowed
The location was great! Our son had a two day golf tournament at Camaloch Golf Course so we didn't spend a lot of time at the house. The time we were there it was very inviting and relaxing, just like home. The neighborhood was very quiet which was nice. We got some amazing sunset pictures too! We would recommend it for anyone looking to stay on the island!
Well supplied, clean home is as described and seen in photos. Prompt helpful host response to a question. Nice water views looking towards Whidbey Island. Turned out to be a cold rainy couple of days but enjoyed short hikes at State parks and beaches, fun eateries, and watching the unique birds at the feeders out the large windows! Space heaters were efficient and appreciated! Thank you for sharing your home!
Beautiful neighborhood, friendly neighbors, great views. Furniture was sparse and not comfortable for extended stay. No WiFi and no television shows beyond circa 1960. Affordable.
We mostly just slept at the house because we were having a large family gathering at another house on the island but needed extra sleeping space. The house was great and served our purpose, our only complaint was it had a musty smell
Spouse and I were able to stay for two nights. We found the location to be wonderful with personal touches throughout which were interesting to look at during our stay. We appreciated some of the brochures that were left on the coffee stand which gave us some ideas of things we could do. This residence was clean throughout which we appreciated. The only negative is that it smelled of secondhand cigarette smoke which could be smelled on our packed clothes throughout the remainder of our trip to E. Washington. Unsure if this was from the previous visitor. Otherwise 5 stars and recommended.

About the host
Hosted by Alan (or Tomoko)
Seattle native who started spending summers on Camano island back in the 50s when the family rented a place right near this one. Never got it out of my system and had to finally build this place in 2014 enlisting the services of a great local builder with 30 years of experience. It was all about the view and the surroundings. My wife, from Japan has embraced my passion for this place as well.
Why they chose this property
It is within a stone's throw of the property my family used to rent every summer when I was a kid. Lots of nostalgia & natural beauty. Hummingbirds, swallows, eagles, wild rabbits and deer are a few of the reasons to like this place. A great view of amazing sunsets is perhaps the greatest thing about it. We are less than 10 minutes away from Cama beach state park where they have the center for wooden boats and boat rentals. Also just beyond that is the other Camano island State park with a boat launch and camping.
What makes this property unique
Faces West, afternoon/evening sun & sunsets. This view helps us detox and relax. It's a great quiet neighborhood for walking and bicycle riding. The back yard is big enough for kids to play in safely and the back deck is a good place for adults to supervise from. Often the only real soundtrack is birds that come to our neighbors assortment of feeders. We always have hummingbird feeders out but there are so many more types to see and hear.
