About this property

Stunning Romantic & Spiritual Sanctuary: 100-Mile Views, Contemporary Design

The new renovated condo is located atop one of the highest mountain peaks in eastern Northern America... an 1,100 square foot one bedroom one bath condo with an upstairs loft, 40 foot vaulted ceilings, contemporary furniture, high end finish outs, custom paint, and a view that has to be seen to be believed. With only four units occupied in the building (of 12), and nobody else on the top floor, this is an extremely quiet and private area, ideal for romance or rejuvination.

In addition to the one bedroom, there is a single mattress upstairs in the loft -- and in a pinch, a guest can sleep on the oversized couch downstairs.

The upstairs loft features dim-able turkish lamps, soft rugs and pillows for lounging. There's an executive desk/chair, a brother laser printer, and extraordinarily inspiring view--many people come here to finish projects. In addition, there is a meditation corner, with soft blankets and pillows for seating, and an MP3 player with several meditations if you want to learn. A single mattress with bedding is stored in the closet.

It sits upon the grounds of The Art of Living Retreat Center, which (for extra charge) offers dining, Ayurvedic Spa services, yoga and meditation classes, hiking, and more.

You can have a lot of privacy, as only four of the 12 units in this building are currently occupied. Or, if you choose, you can explore the retreat center community a bit and socialize. If you don't want to cook or drive into town, the Art Of Living Retreat Center dining hall serves three delicious vegetarian buffet meals a day for around 15-20$ It's the big yellow building two doors down.

Great stsy

Very nice and as advertised. Has a bunch of steps which was not an issue for us but others may not like that. Everything was great and it was convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock. Beautiful view!

Location, Location, Location

Tom’s place was comfortable, the view was amazing and like I said the location was ideal. Easy access to Boone, Blowing Rock and an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway right at the bottom of the mountain. We had a great time and we’ll be back!

It was a great place

Easy to find and a secluded area, with a nice view. Carpet could use a refreshing but other than that it was a nice little place. And the shower with that huge shower head was amazing.

Nice place. A bit out of the way.

For the price, this was a great deal. After wrestling with the front door for five minutes trying to figure out how to open it, saw that the pictures were accurate. Google maps is a little sketchy getting you up there but you will eventually make it. It runs about 15 seconds behind. Everything was very clean and I really don't have any complaints. Well worth the cost. Closer and easier drive to Boone than Blowing Rock

Nice peaceful place with an outstanding view

Unit is part of a 12-unit building, but most units were empty and everyone else was really quiet. Views are fantastic from the porch and even better from the upstairs area. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was good. Would definitely stay again.

Peaceful and Quiet

Beautiful location, very quiet except for a few neighorbors sharing a patio/terrace area. Unit was very nice and had wonderful views and 2 story interior. Owner was very kind and helpful and had bottled water in unit for us. It was a little hot and no AC but windows and cross breeze helped. Some of the buildings were indeed of some maintenance but the inside of this unit was in good shape. The retreat itself if unique. We booked pottery class and had a nice adventure there.

Lovely Spot with Spectacular View

Tom has created a lovely peaceful oasis. It was perfect for me because the workshop I was attending was just down the road and we had our meals at Art of Living, so it couldn't have been more perfect. I had a few friends over for an impromptu mini-bday celebration for a friend and the living room is cozy and comfortable for people to sit around and chat. Waking up to that view is nothing short of spectacular and then at night the star show is equally amazing. The building is very quiet. it felt like it was just me and the neighbors just right next door because everyone was so quiet, but I noticed later there were others in town in the building. It's just so peaceful you don't feel like you are in a condo building at all. Will recommend to others in the future too!

Wonderful views, sparse amenities.

We had a great stay at this property. The views are spectacular, and the apartment was comfortable. The roads can be difficult to navigate during a big snow, as they are not plowed. My largest take away from the trip was that the owner reported a chair broken after I left. I found this strange, because to the best of my knowledge, we had not sat down on the only chair in the apartment during our entire stay. The property insurance covered the cost, so I was not charged anything more than the $100 fee I had already paid. When I contacted the insurance company they told me there had been no description of damages or picture submitted. I am happy no additional charges were asked of me, but I am sceptical of and do not appreciate a claim filed against me with out any description of damages or proof they occurred. Aside from this

A piece of heaven

The property is very nice and met all our needs while during our stay. The view from the balcony are amazing and it felt like we had a piece of heaven. We were there for three days and the view were different every day. It rained, cloudy day and a beautiful sunny day and not to mention the fall colors (spectacular). We will definitely return in the summer. Rod & Nita

A little piece of heaven

Just spent some glorious days in this little piece of heaven, nestled in the mountains in Boone, North Carolina. The air was crisp and the leaves were like beautiful flowers blooming in the nearby mountains and valleys. Such beauty is unimaginable! You just have to be there! Location is very centralized closed to the Blue Ridge Parkway and you can even see the beautiful highway from the porch. Close to the sky retreats, shopping outlets, quaint little towns, rivers, Grandfather Mountain, colleges and universities, galleries, etc. The unit is large enough and sleeps 3-4 people comfortably. It is nicely decorated, modern and eclectic furnishings, lots of amenities and a homey feeling. It has a huge loft with office supplies, printer, windows that peek unto the immense beauty of the mountaintops and valleys, magical sunrises galore and meditation tapes and altar. The bedroom was nice and if you open the window, you will immediately feel the cool, crisp autumn mountain air. The sheets and pillows are top five star hotel quality and the bathroom is accommodating, it has a washer and drier apartment unit and hot water was plentiful. The unit was clean and tranquil. We enjoyed our few days in this place, especially dinner on the porch. The porch has smoking area, two chairs and tavern table which was perfect for our dinner of hot soup, bread and a glass of hot tea. The hummingbird feeder and artisan bird houses and feeders gives it a special touch and invites the winged friends to stop by and enjoy themselves. Were able to see wildlife from our porch, rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels, white tailed deer and many birds. The unit is enclosed in a beautiful spa and therapeutic center and it offers a vegetarian cafeteria style restaurant, spa, massage and meditation services, walking trails and a pottery center. You can see mountains and valleys for miles, as well as the nearby towns of Boone and Blowing Rock. The sunrises seen were phenomenal, beautiful and captivating, unique in its own beauty. We also observed the starry nights, and at times felt like if you just could reach out and touch the stars, the views both during the day and the nights were just awesome. This is a condo unit perfect for a single person or a couple intent on bring back romance in their lives. Perfect getaway, lovely place to just relax and encounter inner peace. Only drawback was we were unable to make sense of the VCR and television, but who needs those when the world is at your feet?

I purchased this condominium during a four year hiatus from the corporate world, where I embarked on a bucket list adventure to visit the most sacred places on the planet, acquire the knowledge. From the Himalayas and the Ganges River to Machu Picchu, to Kauai, Joshua Tree, and The Black journey eventually led me to Heavenly Mountain, in Boone, NC.

Yes, Boone, North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Mountains--and this area in particular -- are considered to be among the most ancient and sacred mountains on earth. This condo served as my sanctuary, where I was able to write, do volunteer work, connect with nature and discover a deeper sense of purpose for the next chapter of my life. Mission accomplished!

To say that I enjoyed my time here would be a massive understatement. It is my pleasure to pay it forward and share this extraordinary place with you. Not because I have because I believe this condominium, this mountain are here for the purpose of supporting individuals on their journey of growth, rejuvenation, rest, and relaxation.

I have recently relocated to Dallas, TX, where I am a corporate and life trainer. I really wanted to live closer to my mother, who inspires me daily.

I am a live music nut, still seek out the best summer music and yoga festivals. Other passions include border collies, Thai and Indian cuisine, fly fishing, mountain biking, the Denver Broncos, John Steinbeck, Tony Robbins, the Allman Brothers, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Krishna Das, The Head and the Heart, and (obviously) the ancient wisdom teachings of the East, including Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Yogananda, Eckart Tolle and Rod Stryker. (my library is kept stocked for your enjoyment)

I return to Boone frequently to rest, rejuvenate and recharge the batteries.

Why they chose this property

I believe in the mission of the art of living, which is one of the largest and most generous global non-profit, humanitarian efforts in the world. From programs for returning military veterans in the US, to prison reform, corporate trainings, youth and women's empowerment....I could fill this entire page with the GOOD they are doing. Suffice it to say, they set up shop on this mountain top. And are extremely humble, kind, and welcoming folks.

What makes this property unique

If you like to hike, or just go for walks, I have five different ones I can direct you the casual stroll, to the advanced downhill, with waterfall cliff dives. There is a map on the kitchen counter with directions, and FAQs.

The Blue Heaven Spa is a three minute ride down the road. with full spa services and treatments. Call ahead, as they get busy on weekends. This is one of only a handful of authentic Aryuvedic spas in the nation, with an amazing array of traditional treatments. Also, they have a steam room and fitness center.

Visitors always seem to find what they are looking for. I get a lot of compliments on my the loft office, with laser printer. The space seems to inspire reflection. I get an equal number of compliments on the morning sunrises, the hiking trails, and just lounging or enjoying meals on the patio furniture.
