Part of June, all of July and part of August is the high demand and I rent Friday to Friday. Otherwise, I am more flexible. I cannot rent for one night as I do not charge guests for maid service like most VRBO properties do. 4 out of 5 guests leave it like they found it less making the beds. That's my deal. Leave it like you found it, no cleaning fee.
Check in is normally anytime after 1 PM . Check Out 11am sharp.
Previous guests may get discount rates renting direct.

Before you book, know this over 90% of my guests love and appreciate this humble place. If you are a 5 percenter that seeks out faults and blems, this 1954 cabin may not be not for you. I suggest you pay triple my rate for a larger, newer summer home. Thank you for reading all the way to the end.
CANCELLATION POLICY. I offer a better deal than VRBO's website. None of their choices fit my property cancellation policy. If there is a cancellation and I can rent your time, I give 100% refund. If Not we both lose.

Why they chose this property
I grew up in Oceana County. As soon as we turned 16 and could drive, Silver Lake was the place to go in the Summer. I noted most cottage owners were 40-70+ years old; Not wanting to wait, I bought my cottage asap in 1977 when in college. Lots on Silver Lake Water Front were and still are cost prohibitive for me, however on the silver lake channel I could afford water front and have access to Silver Lake via boat.. My kids have fond memories of the summers at this cottage as well and many of their friends.
I appreciate my guests that help pay the property insurance, taxes, maintenance, and utilities by renting the cottage.

What makes this property unique
The Silver Lake Sand Dunes are one of a kind. The channel in front of my cottage offers the option of taking the boat or canoe to a County park with 2 tables on the channel for a change from the popular Silver Lake, paddle a little more will take you to the dam. End of the trail for boaters. Kids or Adults alike will remember the little boat trips for a life time. One family told me the kids spent the whole week in the canoe.
