The hot tub is definitely clean & hygienic. The cabin comes with everything you need to be comfortable, even if you forget a little something. Most of the pictures are accurate but the view pictures should be updated as all the trees have grown up so much, that the view they advertise is mostly blocked, it is still a pretty view. The cabin itself pictures are acurate & we definitely enjoyed our stay.
Enjoyed “Mammy’s” cabin outside of Franklin, NC. Cabin is well equipped and really enjoyed hot tub after long drive from Florida. Great location just be prepared for bit of drive up the mountain (some gravel narrow roads) and is probably 20 minute drive fro Franklin. Took a day to drive to Highlands and Rosman, beautiful drive on 64.Great views and very peaceful, will come back again!
We loved the cabin and the scenery. I thought the sunsets would be on the hot tub side of the cabin and the road getting to the cabin was very scary. However, we loved it. The cabin was clean and cozy.
The cabin is at the TOP of a mountain so the view is fabulous. Great sunrise and gorgeous leaf colors surround the cabin and the drive up to it.. Nicely furnished with period antiques. It is cozy so look at the total square feet and make sure this is right for you. Very nice host and Franklin and surrounding area are fun to explore.
This was exactly the place we were looking for! Perfect for two, but could have accommodated another two guests. Love that it is pet friendly! The views were incredible and it was so quiet and serene. Host was very responsive and helpful!!
We had a wonderful stay at this quaint cabin at the top of a mountain! It was clean and had everything we needed. The view from the back deck is amazing!
This cabin met all of our wildest expectations of Quiet -Undisturbed -relaxing beauty. Been a long time since Ive been in a place where the absolute only thing you can hear is NATURE . It was perfect for the 2 of us.
They did a good job instructing where everything was and how to use it. They had a binder full of interesting history about the cabin that we enjoyed. The road is very well kept up with to get to the top of the mountain. The fire place and supplied wood was wonderful. The kids loved having a fire each evening.
We had a wonderful time sitting on the ridge of our mountain sometimes completely obscured in the clouds. We enjoyed a cozy fire every day. The hot tub was a great way to get each day started. Can’t wait to go back to Mammy’s Cabin!
We very much enjoyed our stay in this cabin!
Linens were nice and well stocked. There were plenty of towels which was appreciated, especially with the hot tub. The weather was mild while we were here, but there were multiple fans and space heaters in addition to the regular heating and air. I think temperature regulation would be easy! The hot tub was clean and enjoyable. The fire place was a bonus that we didn’t expect to use, but it made for such cozy evenings. Wood and kindling was well stocked.
The house felt incredibly private. The deck and the hot tub were very private.
The road getting up the mountain is a bit scary. I was a bit uncomfortable with the narrow, gravel road but my husband said it was fine. I would have preferred an AWD vehicle, but our Toyota Camry handled it okay. We did not experience any rain or inclement weather during our stay. I don’t know how the road is in other conditions.
The main bed is very firm. It was fine for us, but may not be to everyone’s liking.
I would definitely stay again! This was such a great space for us to enjoy an anniversary weekend!

Remote
I'm not really sure how to rate this property because it was such a range of experiences.
First of all, the property is remote can be tricky to get to the first time. We drove up in a VW on a rainy weekend and there were a few times that I was glad I could engage a lower gear on the rain-slick dirt switchbacks. It's a little scary coming up the first time (especially in the rain) but once you've been up to the cabin once, it's not as bad.
The cabin itself is perfect for a couple or maybe even a small family, but I can't see it for more than that. 2 couples would struggle in this cabin if they weren't VERY close friends.
The deck was lovely and we spent the most time out there just reading and enjoying the cool and the trees. The hot tub was fantastic and we used it every evening.
The biggest issue we had with the cabin is that the fireplace is a disaster. The chimney has clearly not been cleaned in forever. There are signs all over the place saying not to adjust the flue - that it's perfectly set. But when we lit a fire in the fireplace it literally smoked us out of the cabin. We had to open all the doors and windows and go sit on the deck until it cleared out. My partner took a look up into the flue and the chimney and it was dripping with creosote and char. We would advise anyone who stays there to NOT use the fireplace unless you have proof it's been cleaned since the summer of 2023.
This is an amazing secluded, private getaway. The veiws are wonderful, and it is the perfect rustic romantic cabin experience. The only thing I advise is if you have an android phone, google maps will take you in on a more windy, steep gravel road. Take Ledford branch left around the sharp curve by the mailboxes, its paved further. The gravel past this point is fine and well maintained. I made it in a FWD SUV.
We chose this spot to escape the late July heat in south Georgia, and it did not disappoint! The cabin has great air circulation and AC if needed. We dined out on the deck, took long walks with the dog down and back up the steep mountain road, and hiked on trails near Franklin. The Lazy Hiker Brewing Company is a cool place to raise a pint.
This was our third visit to Mammy’s and we absolutely love it there. It’s like a piece of heaven up on the ridge. It’s so peaceful and the views are beautiful.

Disappointing
Cabin is cute and view is great. That being said streaming kept buffering or would go completely out. Satellite didn’t work as instruction’s stated. Internet was one bar awful.I can see why there are so many dvds. Hot tub jets were not the best. A warning about the gravel road and how high and twisty it is would be nice. Our tires skidded more than once with rain. Scarey! Called and emailed owners about satellite tv never got a response. Not Tons to Do in area either. Did find some good restaurants in Franklin. Beds are comfy and lots of towels and blankets.
The cabin was so cute. We loved it all. The view was amazing. It's the perfect location between Franklin and Highlands. Also, the road getting up wasn't that bad. I did it in a Civic.
Beautiful little cabin on the top of the mountain no neighbors super quiet just cute as a button. The hot tub was a great touch unfortunately all we got was rain the whole time we were here so we didn't get much of a view but you can tell it's gorgeous.
My husband I and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had the BEST trip! There were notes all over the cabin for use of heat/air conditioning, extra towels/pillows, and instructions on using the fire place. Everything was clean, neat and easy to use. The morning and night views were always amazing. The back porch is what faces the sunrise so watching the birds at the bird feeder in the morning in rocking chairs was so nice. Can not brag enough about how amazing our stay was at Mammy’s cabin.
