Enjoyed “Mammy’s” cabin outside of Franklin, NC. Cabin is well equipped and really enjoyed hot tub after long drive from Florida. Great location just be prepared for bit of drive up the mountain (some gravel narrow roads) and is probably 20 minute drive fro Franklin. Took a day to drive to Highlands and Rosman, beautiful drive on 64.Great views and very peaceful, will come back again!
The cabin was so cute. We loved it all. The view was amazing. It's the perfect location between Franklin and Highlands. Also, the road getting up wasn't that bad. I did it in a Civic.
We loved the cabin and the scenery. I thought the sunsets would be on the hot tub side of the cabin and the road getting to the cabin was very scary. However, we loved it. The cabin was clean and cozy.
Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Very quiet and relaxing. The few neighbors I ran into were very nice. About a half hour from town so take your stuff. Great views. Hope to make it back.
Perfect weekend getaway with hubby and pups! A true log cabin, unplug, unwind and enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful views. We will definitely be back!
If you’re looking for privacy this is it!Very secluded narrow mountain roads better be good driver , kitchen well stocked and loved the gas stove. Hot tub was a plus as well as fireplace that was well stocked with plenty of firewood
Great views and cabin was exactly as described. You are literally on top of the mountain so highly recommend a truck or vehicle with 4x4 capability to climb up unpaved gravel roads.
The cabin is at the TOP of a mountain so the view is fabulous. Great sunrise and gorgeous leaf colors surround the cabin and the drive up to it.. Nicely furnished with period antiques. It is cozy so look at the total square feet and make sure this is right for you. Very nice host and Franklin and surrounding area are fun to explore.
They did a good job instructing where everything was and how to use it. They had a binder full of interesting history about the cabin that we enjoyed. The road is very well kept up with to get to the top of the mountain. The fire place and supplied wood was wonderful. The kids loved having a fire each evening.
This rental is amazing! From its rustic charm to its wonderful history shared through pictures, articles and a summary written by the owner, you will be immersed in its authenticity! The sunrises from the hot tub, the birds swarming the bird feeders on the deck, the incredible Cracker Barrel decor, and the wonderful winding road to the top of the mountain are all just icing on the cake. I highly recommend for a romantic getaway. So quaint and warm. We will return and we can’t wait!
This cabin met all of our wildest expectations of Quiet -Undisturbed -relaxing beauty. Been a long time since Ive been in a place where the absolute only thing you can hear is NATURE . It was perfect for the 2 of us.
This was exactly the place we were looking for! Perfect for two, but could have accommodated another two guests. Love that it is pet friendly! The views were incredible and it was so quiet and serene. Host was very responsive and helpful!!
We had a wonderful stay at this quaint cabin at the top of a mountain! It was clean and had everything we needed. The view from the back deck is amazing!
The drive up the mountain to the cabin is definitely “off the beaten path,” but the roads are well maintained and manageable.
The cabin itself is older and rustic but pleasant, and the porch view was stunning.
Towns and hiking trails were at least 20-25 minutes from the cabin, some slightly further, but it never seemed like a long drive.
Mammy’s Cabin was perfect for a long weekend away from the city. The cabin is rich in history and bursting with charm! We loved reading the story of how Mammy’s Cabin came to be- and finding our own connections along the way! The kitchen is well stocked, bed is comfy, and the views are spectacular! The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking. We enjoyed cooking, local restaurants, and nearby hikes! It was a great weekend and we hope to be back!
If you want something remote, peaceful, quiet, surrounded by nature - this is it!! Exactly what we were looking for.
I will say - Wifi did not work at all and service was spotty...and if you're trying to go out every day and do things, it is a 25+ min drive down the mountain just to reach normal roads.
We stayed a full week and only went down twice, really enjoyed the quiet time in the cabin. It has everything you need. Hot tub with the view was awesome! Fireplace was amazing. We did all our grocery shopping first day and cooked there. Lots of blankets and pillows, chopped firewood, kitchen utensils, ice trays.
Thank you for a wonderful week.
Cabin was just what we craved. Quiet, nature, fireplace, proximity to hiking trails and…well who doesn’t love an outdoor hot tub! Glad we got there first time before dark and having 4-wheel drive while not completely necessary sure made the drives up & down more fun.
This home was the perfect romantic and special place to celebrate with your spouse/partner. The location is remote with beautiful vistas, yet close to the highlands and Cashiers for evening meals. The story of Mammys cabin is written in a welcome guide in the cabin- a must to read during your stay. It’s a great place to unplug and focus on the moment. We opened our 25 year marriage time capsule here. Thank you for the new memories, Mammy.
