Peaceful location, courteous host, beautiful scenery. The location puts you far enough away from tourist areas to where you don't have to feel like traffic is an issue but close enough to get to anything within minutes
This cottage is the perfect getaway! The scenery by the deck is breathtaking. The hosts were nice, accommodating, and really thought of every detail to make the stay perfect. Already missing this cottage and Virginia!
We enjoyed our stay! The house was comfortable and the scenery was lovely. It was an easy drive to Busch Gardens and convenient to parks and restaurants. Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway!
Beautiful property, comfy home off the beaten path yet just minutes from town! Sam and Mark are so kind and readily available. She was very responsive to texts and Mark shared stories of the area. Our 2 dogs accompanied us and enjoyed walks outdoors. Dog friendly home yet did not smell like it! Very clean! Visited Jamestown, Yorktown, Williamsburg, & Chesapeake Bay.
The cottage setting was so peaceful. We took advantage of the tiki hut for dinner and card games. The cottage was very nicely appointed - clean, beautifully done. We would definitely stay again if we visit the area.
If you are looking for a peaceful place to take your dog, this is it. Lots of wildlife, and plenty of birdwatching. The water was very relaxing to be by. The cozy little cottage would be perfect for a small family.
The cottage was a very nice place to stay. It has everything you could need. Its also a very secluded area, so if thats something that you like, then youll enjoy your stay. Bush Gardens and Williamsburg are only 30-35 minutes away. We enjoyed our 3 day stay here, thank you Mark and Sam.

Well we didn't appreciate the new neighbor walking his dogs in between the house we stayed in and the outside area which we were supposed to be able to use like it was his property. Our dogs couldn't even enjoy being outside on a leash. We didn't feel comfortable there this time at. The satilite system needs work.
Beautiful location- fairly secluded with wildlife and access to water, and is the perfect place to bring the pups. House has cute waterside cottage vibes, and is stocked with almost anything you would need. The property owners were very nice and accommodating.
This is a beautiful and serene property away from it all--yet close enough to all of the sites of Williamsburg, Yorktown, etc. Hosts were gracious and accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
This property was clean. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the porch, the tiki bar, the grill and the fire pit. The owners were great to work with. It was a really relaxing mini vacation
Hosts were excellent as well as the cottage Any questions were answered promptly and the cabin was well equipped and had a relaxing vibe. We loved coming back to the welcoming cottage's screened porch after a day of sight seeing and just enjoying the river view and being serenaded by the sounds of nature. Sam and Mark share their dock with guests and we saw a beautiful sunset from there on our last evening. The tiki bar was another relaxing place on site that guests are privy to enjoy. Another plus was their pet friendly policy. Would definitely recommend this cozy cottage which is also close to the historical triangle of Yorktown, Jamestown, and Williamsburg.Busch Gardens and a waterpark are also close by.
Cute cottage in a beautiful setting...perfect for a quiet getaway and close enough to Williamsburg and Yorktown for easy day trips. Lots of room to roam and walk the dogs. Had everything we needed for a long weekend stay and communication with host was great.
We had a wonderful stay at The Cottage at Jameslin for the long Labor Day weekend! The cottage was just the right fit for our family of 4 (16 and 12 years old boys, 2 adults) plus our dog. Our youngest even opted to sleep on the living room couch because it was so comfortable! The owners were super accommodating and communication was quick and easy. They even let us take one of their canoes out for some water fun. Our dog loved to run around the property and check out all of the fish the boys caught. The kitchen was perfect for cooking meals and fully stocked. The cottage was an easy drive to Busch Gardens, Yorktown, and Williamsburg, and we really enjoyed our time relaxing. Thank you for a great stay!
This cottage has everything that you may wish for in a country , lakeside setting. There is lots of outdoor space for pets and kids to play. The lake (Severn river) is just steps away with a private dock for fishing. A short walk up the driveway there is also a Tikki bar with a deck and a pond for small bass fishing. The cottage itself was extremely clean and had plenty of towels, linens, cookware, and appliances to make our stay very comfortable. Sam and Mark are wonderful hosts and were extremely accommodating. I highly recommend this property for anyone who has pets and loves a country setting with access to many of the attractions in the area.
Loved nearby historical attractions. Cabin very cute, cozy and clean. Very quiet rural country road a number of miles out. Great area for the dog. We had a lot of rain and there was a bit of mud.
