Mountain cabin with private lake, beach, river and waterfall access. Dogs ok!
We are a family that travels frequently and we are currently leaving this home to work a few hours away, but we hate to part with this area so we have opted to rent the home so others may enjoy it and we can come back as much as possible. We have enjoyed Western North Carolina and calling Lake Lure our base for the past four years.
Liz purchased this House in 2014
Why Liz chose Lake Lure
This property is a new build, built in 2013 and occupied since 2014. Most all the furniture, paint, and kitchen items are new. It is nestled towards the end of the community so it is much quieter than some other homes and still walkable to the HOA main amenities.
What makes this House unique
We have a large plot of land that allows for yard games and a fire pit, plenty of parking and a large common space with many windows to enjoy the woods.
Check-in: 4:00 pm
Check-out: 11:00 am
The house is not baby proofed.
Minimum age of primary renter:25
HOUSEKEEPING FEE not collected with rental payment . Housekeeping fee to be left at cabin at checkout. 2-5 guests, $75-- 6 or more -$100
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
If you want a relaxing, quiet stay, this is your place. We felt like we were the only two people on the mountain. Great fire pit, everything you need in the kitchen, beautiful bedroom on main floor, great water pressure, lots of light.
Internet is very spotty, so put your laptop down and go kayaking on the gorgeous lake there.
Be sure to go to the swimming hole in the neighborhood!
A little tough to find on our gps.
I would have appreciated a little detergent.
Towels could use a bit of an upgrade, so bring your own.
Close proximity to Chimney Rock, which was adorable town.
Owner was friendly and attentive.
Riverbend Lake House
We had a great family vacation at the Riverbend House.
The house was clean, very roomy for our family of 6 and met all of our expectations and more. We loved the community.
We hope to return yearly.
Thanks for the memories!!
Had a very nice time at this comfortable home. Lots of privacy and quiet down time for our family. The kids and dogs lived the yard and exploring through the woods. A beautiful place for long walks every afternoon. The lake is lovely and the river walk was great for the kids to splash around in. The firepit was a hit with the kids. Highly reccomend .
Overall we loved our stay. Our only complaint is that the yard that was spoken of so much in the listing, was not mowed (grass was quite high) when we arrived. We arrived on Monday and notified the owners as soon as we arrived. It was not mowed until Friday (the last day of our stay). It was rainy throughout the week; however, we managed to do something each day outdoors without rain, so we feel it could have been mowed sooner. An attempt was made on Tuesday, but was told the lawn mower broke and they would return that evening or the next morning; however, wasn't done until Friday. Other than that, our stay was wonderful. Owners are quick to respond to any questions and have thought of just about everything you could need in the cabin. There are two kayaks, but no life jackets, so if you want to use those, make sure you bring some life jackets with you. Also, if using GPS, use the address to the front gate that they will give you instead of the actual cabin address to begin with. Ours brought us in a back way and then we had to find our way out to the front gate to check in. The cabin was perfect for our family of 5 and we had a great vacation. We loved the beach, lake, and waterfall right up the road. Also, if you are viewing from your phone, you may not see the $100 cleaning fee that must be left when you leave. We were told as soon as we booked it could be left in cash or check. Please note that the check must also be made out to cash. Overall we are glad we chose this location and took away some awesome family vacation memories.
Very glad you and your family had a good time. Very sorry about the grass being a little high. It had been cut 6 days prior to your arrival and was scheduled to be cut the day you arrived. Unfortunately we had constant rain. It was cut the first time there was not constant rain. The housekeeping fee is not collected but left in the cabin at checkout which is done to save the guest money. If it were collected it would be taxed and Homeaway would add a percentage. The housekeeper, Kellie, has her name and contact info in the cabin and the fee can be a check made out to her or cash. Thanks for taking the time to write a review,
A very comfortable and inviting home in a private setting. We enjoyed walks to the river daily. A great spot for a family vacation.
This property is located in the town of Lake Lure in a private gated community with a waterfall, river that runs through the community and two lakes for your enjoyment. There is a pavilion by the lake to BBQ with picnic benches and electricity.
The home is set on an acre of wooded property towards the end of the community for privacy and serenity. There is yard space for games, plenty of parking, propane grill and a fire pit for family smore nights.
The area offers Chimney Rock State park for hiking. The highest peak in North Carolina, Mount Mitchell is close by with Linville Caves or Pisgah Forest with it's renown waterfalls. There is kayaking, zip lines, golfing and horseback riding within 20 minutes of the property.
If fancy suits you best, Asheville is a 40 minute drive where the beautiful Biltmore Estate would be an entire day visit, restaurants, home to independent shop owners and an amazing farmers market. (although there are farm stands throughout the drive)
Speaking of drives... enjoy the Blue Ridge Parkway which can connect you to all of the above mentioned along its 469 miles which ends in Cherokee, NC.
