Great location for skiing

If you want to walk to the slopes, this is the perfect location. This was our #1 priority when looking for a property and were very happy with this location (HIGHLY recommend if this is also important to you). Pretty well stocked kitchen (but no dish soap to hand wash dishes), giant tv in the living room and a tv in each bedroom. The picture in the listing of the tv in the living room is old - that tv has been replaced with a GIANT tv (which our teenagers appreciated). Good sized balcony that overlooks the pool if you happen to be there in summer. Easy check in, easy check out. Heater works well and keeps the place nice and cozy. Washer and dryer in the unit. The bedrooms are downstairs and floor is VERY creaky, so it is almost impossible to sleep if someone is upstairs in the living room. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of if you sleep in the master bedroom and go to bed before everyone else. Overall, it seemed clean, just very dated. Pretty sure the carpet, blankets, etc. are all several decades old. The chairs were ripped and held together with duct tape. Based on the pictures and other reviews we brought our own bedding and some paper plates, cups, etc. so weren't really bothered by it. Overall, we would definitely stay here again if we were coming up to ski. The location really can't be beat and the price was good.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was clean, similar to photos. SST is the best place to stay to get easy to ski slopes. We've stayed here several times. The only things missing: cut boards and some glasses.

Not what We hoped for

I prefer to praise in public and criticize in private. However the office manager was not willing to listen. Let’s start with the COVID cleaning advertising. All of the dishes and silverware had to be washed before using. There was a half eaten donut in the cupboard. The front bedroom had a dirty sock and spatula in the nightstand drawer. The master bedroom had soft ties in the nightstand drawer. The master bedroom bed was a platform bed which had broken and was screwed together improperly leaving an overlap of plywood (1”) across the center of the bed. The mattress was 4” thick, stained and creased in the center. This is unacceptable. The chairs in the dining room were split and duck taped. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling and held on by thumbtacks. The dishes in the kitchen are old and worn out, something you may send your freshman to college with. The location would have been more ideal but the access to the mountain is closed due to COVID so you must walk around to the front of the resort. The rental office does not open until 9am. We were in need of a shovel to dig out our car, the office has only one, and there was not one in the unit. We were able to borrow from another unit as it seems all units have a shovel, except this one. The price of this unit does not reflect the quality. Very disappointed.

Weekend Getaway

Amazing experience at this location! It was way more than we could've asked for, especially for the price! I plan to revisit Big Bear in the future and can't imagine staying anywhere else!
