Quiet Lakefront Retreat only 80 minutes from NYC- with Private Dock

This newly renovated lakehouse is conveniently located on the quiet and serene Lake Dutchess, just 1 hour 20 min away from NYC. Lake Dutchess is a quiet and serene non-motorized lake, perfect for a weekend getaway! Whether you want to kayak in the spring, bbq and swim in the summer, go apple-picking and enjoy the fall foliage, or cozy up by the fire in the winter, this lakehouse is the perfect retreat all year round!

The house was recently gut renovated, and is fully equipped to accommodate up to 6 people. It has a full chef's kitchen, gas fireplace, washer/dryer, cable tv and wifi. There is a BBQ on the deck overlooking the lake. The kitchen is stocked with everything a chef will need to put on a show! The house also has a private dock with swimming platform, 4 kayaks with paddles, life jackets, fishing rods and a 12ft shuffle board. The main floor has air conditioning, and all bedrooms have ceiling fans and localized heating. Additional amenities include wifi, cable, Beekman 1802 toiletries, high-quality bedlinens, towels and blankets.

The lakehouse is located a mile off of I84 and is a quick 1 hour 20 minute drive from midtown Manhattan. You can also take Metro North's Harlem Line to the Southeast station , which is 10 minutes away.

Local Attractions include: Beacon (Dia Museum, art shops, restaurants), Storm King, Cold Spring (antique shopping, cafes), Dover Springs, Brewster, Carmel. There are a ton of local hiking trails that have been ranked some of the best in the country. We are just a short drive from the Appalachian Trail, Breakneck Ridge, The Beacon Reservoir and The Fire Tower trails. For kids, we are close to Splashdown Beach water park, and several great local farms and orchards for apple, peach, berry, vegetable and pumpkin picking, and maple syrup tasting! For our family visitors, we have a Stokke high chair and baby gate for the stairway, and a full size crib, all available upon request. The kitchen is equipped with kids plates, bowls, and toddler/baby cutlery. We also have two swings below the deck, one standard park style and one bucket style for babies.

Please note the incline down from the house to the lake is steep, so please contact me to discuss further if you have concerns about mobility. The age requirement to book is 28. Due to the septic capacity, we have a maximum occupancy of 6 people.

Great house. Very nice spot on the lake. County road behind the house gets pretty busy and noisy—loud exhaust pipes must be a thing in Dutchess County. Really nice owners and not too far from NYC.

Such a great house. So clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our in laws were able to come over and we cooked out and everyone had a place to sit. We enjoyed coffee by the water in the AM and the house had a pretty view. The supplies provided were so great as it kept us from having to buy EVERYTHING as we flew here from Atlanta. .

Beautiful Lakefront Property

We absolutely loved our stay in this home. We stayed for two weeks in mid-October and it was amazing. The property was extremely clean and well kept. The kitchen and bathrooms had all the amenities we needed, and there was so much to explore nearby. We hope to stay again. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet getaway near NYC

Great Family Getaway

We’ve come here several times and enjoyed our stay each time, particularly our 2 young kids. The home is exactly as advertised in the pictures and description. Nice and secluded with great fishing

Stayed here when it was cold and rainy but had good internet and plenty of games for the kiddies. Absolutely love the dock and there are kayaks provided which we didn't use since it was cold. My kids are young and caught two large mouth bass on kiddie poles the first day.

Amazing Lake House

We were looking for a peaceful family getaway from NYC. Everything was exactly as advertised in the pictures and description. Communication with the owner was quick and easy. Lovely house on Dutchess Lake

This is a great house, and very well appointed. For us it was conveniently located to family who live on Dutchess Lake. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the deck with water views is really pleasant. Plenty of kayaks and other items for lake fun, as well as a dock. Super clean. There are lake views from all the rooms, there's plenty of privacy, and the lake is quiet, with no motorcraft. Easy access by train to NYC and by car to Beacon and other sites. The only issue for us was that the one mini-split in the main room doesn't cool beyond that room (AC didn't reach the bedrooms or downstairs - especially if you close the bedroom doors for privacy - and we were in the house for some very hot days). If you're looking for a relaxing getaway near NYC, and much of what the lower Hudson Valley has to offer, this is a sweet choice.

Relaxing Girls Weekend

My girlfriends and I really enjoyed our weekend at the lake house! The house was newly updated and furnished beautifully. The home was clean, organized and had everything we could have wanted. A nice quiet spot on the lake to relax and enjoy nature- we enjoyed watching the swans and geese! Rebecca and very responsive and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to go back!

The PERFECT lake house

We had a wonderful stay at Rebecca's Lake house. The place was spotless and the attention to detail was remarkable.. The beds were comfortable and the furniture was perfect.. Lake house is well equipped and everything was new..Communication with the owner was also very efficient and timely. The View of the lake and how comfortable we felt here is something we will miss.. This place exceeded our expectations and was even better than the pictures!! We highly recommend it!
