A Slice of Heaven
We highly recommend Jason's place on Dutchess Lake. The location is beautiful. The views of lake, rocks, bolders, hills, and forrest are wonderful. We loved swimming in the lake, kayaking, and relaxing on the dock. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the House Wrens bringing food to their babies inside the little bird house on the nearby tree. This listing is dog friendly, and our little girl loved it there. Jason couldn't have been more helpful by VRBO messages and text. A great place to experience lake living.
Loved our stay
Loved our stay in this lake house. It felt rustic, but refined. Was great fun to fish and kayak on the lake. Beautiful views. Would definitely go back, and of course we recommend. The owners were a great help, and always available.
Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway
Super comfy cabin with all the amenities. The lake view is amazing and very calming. Excellent host and less than 1.5 hours from the city! We will definitely be back.
Wonderful place to just "chill." Everything was quite perfect . Only minor issue was the website did not indicate that the fireplace could only be used with duraflame logs. I understand why (quite reasonable) but was expecting a wood burning experience. However would definitely make a return visit.
Cozy & serene escape
This lakeside cabin was the ideal cozy setting for our Thanksgiving retreat with the bonus of our beloved dog being allowed to join us.The owner was terrific in answering questions before and during our stay. We loved the layout of the spaces with lots of windows so that we had many great views to see birds like the hooded merganser on the lake or the pileated, red headed woodpecker high in the trees. The cabin is literally on the water with a dock where you can sit and enjoy the serenity of Lake Dutchess. It was too cold to use the kayaks, but they are available, and our dog loved romping through the woods on long walks. We enjoyed grilling pizzas out on the small deck just outside the kitchen and cozying up on the sectional couch for the warmth of the cute free-standing fireplace. The area was welcomely quiet, which helped us get the deepest sleep we'd had in weeks.

Why Jason chose Kent
We fell in love with lakefront cabin life staying with a friend and enjoying all that their lake had to offer. We were looking for a similar weekend getaway and this lovely house just fell from the Gods it seemed.
What makes this Cabin unique
We've often been told that the house works both for someone who wants a rustic, authentic cabin-feel, as well as for someone who may perhaps not want to leave all modern conveniences aside and appreciates art and design. It's comfortable, cozy, tasteful, and can be as adventurous or peaceful as you make it. It seems to please almost every type of person needing a break from city life.
