We stayed at the cottage for Sister Bay Fall Fest. We stayed with friends. It would be nice to have two queen beds. Otherwise, everything was what we were looking for in our stay.
Great location, well-maintained property literally in Peninsula Park, close to both downtown Fish Creek and Ephraim. We've now been to Door County 4 times, and have never before been motivated to return to the same place. Now we are!

Quaint cottage
The pottage is older, but quaint. Very clean and quiet. Would stay here again.

This property was adequate but not really welcoming. We have stayed at resort area properties with welcoming messages, some staples in the cupboard and given at least one more hour to check out.

Perfect Location!
This cottage was perfect for our group of four and had everything we needed. It was very clean and the beds were comfy. We loved being in close proximity to Fish Creek, Ephraim, Northern Sky Theatre, etc., yet being off the beaten path a bit. The cottage has a secluded feel while still being close to everything. We will definitely stay again!
Walking distance to State Park. Good bike options. Hiking trails with a wide range of distances.

Clean home
The house was clean but smelled a little musty. It was a convenient location, easy to get in and out of, very quiet and peaceful. Not bad for the price.
The cabin was perfect! Very clean and comfortable. We brought our meals and the cabin had all the supplies we needed. We forgot plastic wrap and left over containers though, that would have been nice to have. The cabin was plenty warm for October and next time we’ll use the outside fire pit! Great location and easy to get to. We loved our stay.

Peninsula Perfect !
We loved the size & location of the cottage - it was perfect for our needs ! Easy in & out with luggage & setting was beautiful too ! Size of main bedroom & bathroom was a plus . The porch & yard gave us lots of breathing room ! All communication with manager on site was easy & they were very responsive to helping me get my eyeglasses ( which I forgot to pack ) delivered via USPS to them then to me . Would recommend for couple or small family !

It was just okay
The cabin was older but comfortable. I like to cook and the kitchen was dark and missing some essentials like a liquid measuring cup, cutting board and covers for some of the pots. The coffee pot barely functioned. The water pressure in the shower was so poor that my daughter had a hard time getting the shampoo out of her hair. I chose not to even try. We left early.
We had a great time staying in Door County at this cute cottage! When we got there, there were fresh flowers from the garden in a vase on the table, and I thought that was a really nice touch. It was so peaceful and quiet that you'd never guess it's right off the road! It was great to be able to walk into the park to hike some trails and enjoy nature. The cottage was absolutely perfect for my husband and me. As mentioned in other reviews, the shower is a bit on the small side, and the cookie sheet doesn't fit in the oven (haha), but neither of those things were a big deal to us. One tip for locking the doors that look like they don't have locks - you have to push in and turn the doorknob, and then the doorknob will be locked. I would highly recommend staying at this property during your visit to Door County!

Cozy Cottage Near Peninsula State Park
Butternut Cottage was great! It was cozy without being cramped. We had three people in total and it was just the right size. Everything was very clean and very well maintained. The fire pit looked amazing, but we didn't have a single dry day to try and use it. The beds were comfortable. While we didn't cook at all, the kitchen was a good size and they had plenty of pots, pans, etc. to use. We were very comfortable and really enjoyed our stay here. If we come back up and need the same size place, we'll definitely stay here again. The cottage is located pretty much in Peninsula State Park, which was great since that was the one thing we really wanted to do. The longest drive we had was to the Washington Island ferry which was about 30 minutes. Everything else was a very quick drive in any direction. It's a great location to stay.Overall, I'd highly recommend staying here. It's fantastic!
Things were there that you basically need at home but in our case surrounded by trees. Very close to Ephraim, Peninsula State Park entrance and Eagle Tower. Must visit. We even had a fire pit; used twice. Supply your own wood. Very quiet!
This property is adorable, exceptionally clean and well maintained! One of the best I have stayed at! I will highly recommend to family and friends. Location was perfect, right in the middle of all we wanted to see and do in Door County during our stay.
Very quaint cottage set in a woods like setting. The cottage has all the amenities of home from all the cookware, dishes, bedding and towels. Very nice. We had a wonderful time in Door County!
Fantastic location Beautiful property with some caveats.
Nicely located between Sister Bay and Egg Harbor. Beautiful property on the state forest preserve. Nice cozy cottage from the late 50s. Enough amenities to get by. Nice sized flatscreen Roku TV with cable and DVD player. Beautiful property with enough space between neighbors to feel secure and private. Easy to get in and out of cottage and in and out of property. There were some issues that need some attention from the owner. Not much you can do about the shower if you are a large person you will be very uncomfortable it’s about 3‘ x 3‘. The showerhead is a complete disaster it’s been split open so water streams in all directions from behind it and barely any water comes out of the nozzle. Very uncomfortable shower! It takes 3 to 5 minutes to get hot water out of the bathroom sink, there’s nearly 0 water pressure. The toilet is nice but the toilet seat feels like it’s going to slide off when you sit on it. It’s just very cheap thin plastic. The stove is great but it angles forward so anything you put into it just runs to the front of the pan. The sofa and the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. So watching TV was not a pleasant experience. Not that many people are going to watch TV on vacation,
