About this property
Quiet Home in Harrisonburg with Spectacular Shenandoah Valley Views.
This home is located on a hill and has a stunning view of the Shenandoah Valley. The large front porch offers a relaxed setting for conversation, eating, watching the clouds, or reading great books. The interior is light, airy, and spacious. The kitchen is well-equipped with tableware, dishes, pots and pans. Fair-trade coffee, tea, and sugar are provided. There is parking space for three cars in the driveway. In addition to the spectacular view, the home offers quick and easy access to EMU and JMU in minutes. There are grocery stores conveniently located near-by and delicious food within walking distance, including Bowl of Good and La Morena's. The Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the George Washington National Forest to the the west. Both areas are renown for skiing, hiking and biking trails, and dramatic foliage in the fall. We are also about fifteen miles from Massanuttan Ski Resort and Water Park. The area around Harrisonburg hosts a number of music festivals, including Red Wing Roots Festival, Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, and the Shenandoah Music Festival. The town has a quiet small town charm with impressive public parks and an Annual Chocolate Walk in addition to other festive events throughout the year. As an added bonus, area universities offer a wide range of cultural performances throughout the year. And the splendid American Shakespeare Blackfriars Playhouse is a mere thirty minutes away in Staunton, Virginia. There is a separate apartment over the garage to our house where a friend of the family lives. Their apartment is separate from the house but they park in the garage sometimes so please avoid parking them in.

We had a great stay! This was perfect for our visit to see our daughter at JMU. There were 7 of us, and our daughter stayed a night also. There was plenty of space and the proximity to campus was great. Mary and Dave were very responsive and fantastic hosts. We hope to stay again!
Our stay was outstanding. First, the panoramic views of the mountains, sunrise, and valley is spectacular. It was a pleasure just relaxing on the front porch during downtime from the wedding we were attending in the Harrisonburg area. Second, we feel the value for the house with B bedrooms, 3 baths, and a sofa bed (which we did not need) was fantastic. While there may be no game room or bar area, we did not need it and everything we did need was available. Lastly, our hostess, Mary, was excellent, Her communication during this entire process from booking to leaving was respectful, professional, and interacting. She went out of her way to solve our only small problem of the weekend. I highly recommend this spot and would stay here again if we needed a place.
Beautiful view! Great spaces for family to gather including a separate den in addition to open-concept living room, dining room and kitchen. Hosts were very responsive.
It is a beautiful house with great city views, located 5 minutes from everything Harrisonburg has to offer. Mary ensures your stay is memorable with the small details and wonderful home. We always enjoy our stay.
This beautiful, spacious home was perfect for our family gathering! There was plenty of space to accommodate small, private conversations simultaneously with larger group fellowship. The front porch provided a quiet, peaceful place to end busy days.
The place was very clean, and the views were spectacular. Close to the town and a spa that we really enjoyed. The host replied to all of our questions very quickly. we will book the place again.
We have stayed at this property numerous times. We have always found it to be clean, well-maintained and comfortable. We love the location and the beautiful view. The owners are super responsive and helpful.
