About this property

Almost beachfront and near the pools. Mild winters and close to a ski hill!

Sun, sand, water & wine and mild winters close to skiing.
This exclusive gated community is sitting in the center of rolling vineyards directly on Osoyoos Lake. There's a private sandy beach with volleyball nets, tether ball and beach fire pits for all to enjoy and an optional private boat slip. The amenities include 2 pools (open until September 30), 2 hot tubs (1 open year-round), and a fitness center. A meandering pathway takes you on a nice walk along the lake shore and to the many restful views that The Cottages offer.

This “beachy-chic” decorated lakefront cottage is uniquely located so you see the private beach and are only a few steps from the warm water of Osoyoos Lake. The master and second bedroom have views of the water. The screened porch and large patio back onto a large, grassed meadow. The house is positioned so both sun and shade are easily found and front patio offers wind shelter. The open plan with loft is spacious and there are two pools and hot tubs just a 3-minute walk away on beautifully landscaped walking paths.
Whether your desire is to play in the sun, the sand, the snow, the warm water, explore award-winning wineries or just enjoy the beauty and serenity of the surroundings, Sandpiper Beach House is the place for you!

SOMETHING FOR EVERY SEASON: Sandpiper Beach House offers gorgeous views, a sand beachfront only 30 steps away, two pools and hot tubs, a private boat slip and the opportunity to make a splash in Canada's warmest freshwater lake.

Breakfasts on the front patio, lunches in the screened-in porch, wine coolers on the beach, cocktails on the back patio with firepit and large umbrella, and soft-lit dinners to end your day. Or for a change of pace drink award-winning wines at some of the 29 local wineries, visit numerous festivals or great restaurants that are minutes away. The good life doesn't get much better than this.

Framed by desert hills, vineyards and orchards, The Cottages on Osoyoos Lake is the ultimate destination. From May through October the climate allows you to swim, boat, fish, sail, paddleboard (one supplied), kayak, and dip your toes into the wild, wet fun, taking place in the warm, beautiful waters of Osoyoos Lake. If you enjoy hitting the links, you will love the golf experience in Osoyoos.

MILD WINTERS: Enjoy a milder winter with a golf season at several top courses that starts earlier and last later than others in Canada. Relax in front of your elegant gas fireplace. Exercise in the well-equipped fitness room or by walking along the foreshore. Refresh in the year-round hot tub at the end of your day. When you miss classic winter, Mount Baldy is 45 minutes away, offering snow shoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing.

MAINFLOOR: Rejuvenate in your main floor Master bedroom with a King pillow-top bed and duvet. Look out at a serene view through the glass doors which open onto your personal patio. A desk for your laptop, and there’s a spacious ensuite with a large, glassed shower.
Gather on the back patio with firepit, while BBQing, or prepare your feast in the fully equipped gourmet kitchen using an induction stove and convection oven. Then serve your culinary delights in the screened porch to the sounds of bird song, or indoors on the elegant contemporary frosted glass dining table (both seat six). Be entertained and set the mood, in the open plan living area with vaulted ceiling, adjustable lighting throughout, a 55” HD Smart TV, a well-furnished seating area, a gas fireplace, and a Bluetooth speaker system. A powder room and laundry room complete this level. Beach chairs and beach umbrellas are supplied.
SECOND FLOOR: a second and third bedroom with Queen pillow-top beds and duvets, and a second full bathroom. A desk with a view of the mountains.

Comfortable and beautiful home in a fabulous holiday complex

Our family of six enjoyed a wonderful holiday in this lovely comfortable home just steps from the private beach on Osoyoos Lake. The complex also provides a beautiful clubhouse, workout facility and pool/hot tubs to enhance your stay. You are only minutes away from biking routes, hiking trails and gorgeous wineries.

Absolutely WONDERFUL

We just spent a month in this beautifully furnished and decorated cottage that is equipped with everything a traveller would need. Cottage is just steps from the beach and a club house with work-out equipment and a hot tub (during summer months 2 large swimming pools and a second hot tub are available). We enjoyed the walking trails and the tours to the area wineries. Sue was a perfect host. We are looking forward to returning next year.

Fantastic, Quiet, Sun & Water & Wine Vacation

Sue was wonderful to deal with and the condo was beyond our expectations with everything we needed. Close to the water and had hot and sunny days while we were there. There are many wineries close by including Burrowing Owl Estate Winery and Desert Hills Estate Winery which were two of our favorites. 15 minutes away from two nearby towns but this coupled with the gated community ensured a quiet and peaceful vacation. Fresh cherries were in season along with other fruit which was better than anything we could get at home.

Amazing family vacation!

The house was amazing and the amenities surpassed our expectations. Our kids loved the beach and the pools. My husband enjoyed paddle boarding around the lake, our dog loved the off leash swimming area and my favorite wineries are right down the road. The house was clean, well equipped and had lots of space for our family of 5. There is new construction nearby but it wasn't too intrusive and crews were gone by 3 pm most days. Owners were very responsive and great to work with. We're already planning our next visit!

Amazing home in a perfect location

We spent a week at this beach home and it was one of the best holidays we've had. The home was beautiful, well equipped, super clean and steps to the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed and when we didn't want to cook, we just went into town for breakfasts or dinner and lots of wine! It was peaceful and so relaxing from the moment we arrived until we (sadly) had to leave. The beach is sandy and very private as it's only used by the residences. The landscaping within the community was beautiful with large open areas of grass and flowers were blooming. Thank you Sue for sharing your beach home with us!

Beautiful cottage steps away from Osoyoos Lake

Vacation starts as soon as you enter this beautiful cottage. It is equipped with everything you need in kitchen, on the patio and by the beach/pool. Air conditioning, screened windows and garage are a plus. Very peaceful community of cottage houses, ca. 15min drive away from town. Everything is brand-new, including the pool and gym at the club house. We can fully recommend staying at Sandpiper beachhouse and would return anytime. Thanks for being a great host, Sue and staying in close contact to us during our stay.

Awesome Holiday

Our family of five really enjoyed our stay at the SandPiper house. It was so nice to stay in a super clean, modern and well equipped home. The location is great. The house is really close to the water so you could easily walk to the beach for a swim or to launch your paddleboards or if you go to the wineries they are a short ten minute drive. The Platinum Winery is a must visit. They pair fresh bread with their wines, fantastic!!! The property is well laid out with a nice pool and hot tub, fire pits and volleyball nets on the beach. Sue runs a real good program, she was very good to deal with, no problems booking or getting any information from her. She has put together a house manual that provides all the info you will need about the house or things to do in the area. After a family trip I always ask, would we stay again at the same location and we all agreed we would without hesitation. G and D Wilson

Comfortable stay at the Cottages

This is an airy, well maintained unit with a vaulted kitchen/dining/living space. The kitchen is well equipped. The spacious master bedroom and en-suite are on the main floor. We ate most meals in the screened back porch with ample room for the six of us plus the occasional extra couple that would drop by during our two-week stay. The units on the opposite side of the grassed area are far enough away to leave you with a feeling of reasonable privacy. We enjoyed walks and bike rides on the paved pathways. It was just a five-minute walk to the pool(s) which were very refreshing in the hot Osoyoos summer climate. Speaking of Osoyoos, it is only a 15 minute drive from the Cottages to town (if you don't stop for a wine tasting at a vineyard) and one of those 'good feeling' small communities with very friendly staff wherever we shopped. The unit is close to the beach with direct access, but has no lake view. This is the only reason we did not give it a five-star rating.

Everything we hoped it would be

Our family of five stayed here for five nights and our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Sue was easy to deal with and was responsive and helpful when we arrived and had to be reminded of the code to enter the house. The house itself is gorgeous and well looked after. The bedrooms are spacious. The appliances and fixtures top quality. The pictures of the surrounding landscaping do not do it justice because off the screened porch and back patio there is a beautiful green space to enjoy. Another great piece that you won't see from the pictures is the floating swimming dock in the lake swimming area which reasonably capable swimmers will enjoy jumping off. In addition to the volleyball area, the beach also has a play area for smaller children including swings, a couple of sand digging toys and a teatherball pole that older kids or teens will enjoy. The house is also close to the clubhouse where the swimming pools (toddler and regular) hot tubs, and games tables (table tennis & air hockey) are located. Everyone we passed on the walkways in this gated community was pleasant and friendly. The community is ridiculously close to many wineries including Burrowing Owl which is basically on the same road as you approach the property. Would definitely stay here again.

An awesome time had with my family

We spent the last week of August at Sue's cottage. We spent 8 wonderful days in the sun, swimming at the beach and touring the wineries. The picture are exactly what you get. The house was more than large enough for us (5 adults and 1 dog). Below I will list a few items that might interest people staying at this cottage. 1- The cottage is approx. 12 kms from Osoyoos and Oliver and is remote in terms of places to eat or getting other items. There are plenty of fruit stands on the main highway to grab fruit and a few other items. We knew this going to the cottage and stopped at Costco in Kelowna and stocked up. Spent every night drinking wine and BBQ our own food. It was nice to spend that time with our family. 2- There are plenty of wineries near the cottage. Stop at Platinum Bench and get some of their homemade bread. Maverick Wineries on the highway was one of my favorites. 3- Sonora golf course in Osoyoos has some excellent specials. We paid 35 dollars on the Thursday for unlimited rounds. 4- Use Black Sage Road to get into Oliver from the Cottage, seemed faster than the highway. 5- The TV on the main level does not have a cable box to watch standard TV broadcasting but is a smart TV (No DVD player either). We did watch some Netflix on this TV. The room upstairs does have a TV with a cable box. No TV in the master (fine by me). 6- Their was a inflatable paddleboard in the garage and some inflatables and beach chairs are also available in the screen room. We loved staying at the cottage and will definetly recommend to our friends.

Great beach house

The perfect place for a vacation at the beach. Two minute walk across the grass to a sandy and dog friendly beach. Even on the July 1st weekend the area was quiet and relaxing. The house was great and well stocked. Relaxing in the screened in sunroom was a great way to spend the evenings. Lots of outdoor and beach chairs and supplies as well. Highly recommended

Relaxing holiday

My husband and I stayed here with our jack Russell terrier and had a wonderful and relaxing week. The place was modern, well appointed and as described in the booking. Lovely home just steps from the beach and lake. We had a wonderful holiday

This home was very well equipped in terms of kitchen appliances/place settings etc as well as beach gear and offered more than enough space for our family of four. Just steps from the beach and the lake, we couldn't ask for a better location. We enjoyed them both very much. The private beach was never crowded. Many amazing wineries are located in such a close proximity; very convenient. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend visiting the Osoyoos / Oliver wineries.

About the host

Hosted by Sue Miller

Host profile image
We moved to Osoyoos from Calgary 10 years ago. It's a pleasure hosting rental guests at Sandpiper Beach House. Not only is it perfectly located just 30 steps from the beach and a 3-minute walk from the pools and hot tubs, we furnished and equipped it for a relaxing and enjoyable time.

Why they chose this property

We often traveled to Osoyoos in the spring when our Calgary winter seemed endless. We were amazed to see fruit trees in blossom in early April and fell in love with the desert surroundings. When we saw The Cottages on Osoyoos Lake we were excited to be able to own a home with so much sun, a few steps from a sandy beach - and warm water - something we don't have in Calgary at any time of year! It's a great place to relax and enjoy life.

What makes this property unique

This house is uniquely located so we see the beach and are only a few steps from the water. The master and second bedroom have beautiful views of the water, and we love the screened porch - which backs onto a large grassed meadow. The house is positioned so both sun and shade are easily-found and if there is wind in the backyard the front patio offers shelter and beach views. There is usually a lovely warm breeze and the birds provide great background music. The open plan feels really spacious and the community is beautifully landscaped with walking paths through-out. Oh and there are two pools and a hot tub too!
