About this property

The Little Cedar - overlooking South Black Creek

Bring a good book, camera, or fishing pole. This cabin in the woods is located off the beaten path, Situated on a sidehill next to a meandering mountain stream. The deck is partially screened and a grill is provided for outside cooking. A set of steps take you down to the creek where there is a fire ring for your evening campfire. All the basics are here, pots, pans, dishes, gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace. One queen size bed in the bedroom. A sofa bed which is a queen or and single hide-a-bed in the living room, this will be an option as they face each other in the room so only one can be open at a time. You will need to bring your own linens and food for your relaxing retreat. We do have bundled firewood available for sale at the cabin or at our shop on Route 220 South of Dushore. This cabin is unplugged, No wifi, no cell service, no tv.
The cabin is approximately seven miles from the down of Dushore, Pa which has two small grocery stores a Family Dollar Store and two gas stations.
PLEASE NOTE *** This is a cabin in the woods, not a spa retreat or a pristine property in the country, you may encounter Mosquitos, flies, gnats, spiders, ants, mice, bats, ducks, birds, skunks, porcupine, fox, coyote, deer, bear, just to name a few. If you have a fear of any of these you might be happier staying at home, Save yourself the trouble of asking for a refund because you feel unsafe. We do our very best to make this property clean and comfortable. In the Fall and spring we Do have to evict mice from the cabin and it does involve placing "special food" for them in strategic places in the cabin. Be realistic with your expectations of any cabin in the woods when you are booking your retreat!
If there is a problem with the cabin please feel free to call us so that we can address the situation while you are there! Complaining about something after you have departed is bad form and somewhat suspicious!

About the host

We operate a small business just outside of Dushore in Sullivan County, called Rexers LLC. We drill water wells, install water systems and provide many services which are nessesary to our rural area

Why they chose this property

The first time I arrived at this property I was hired to drill the water well for previous owners, Walter and Ruth Alonzo. I was struck by the way the cabin was situated next to the creek with plenty of space for the family pets and children to play on the hillside and in and around the water. Years later after Ruth's passing Walter asked me if I might be interested in owning this property, I jumped at the chance to offer this setting for my family to relax and enjoy.
