PIONEER MEADOW: The cabins at Pioneer Meadow are antique log cabins made of poplar, oak, and chestnut logs purchased throughout the south and restored to their original beauty. The logs were numbered, transported to our property and reassembled.
HISTORY: The Phillips cabin (named for its founding family) was originally built in Bulls Gap, Greene County, Tn (then Greene County, NC) circa 1790. This cabin was in the Phillips family for many years and W.W. Phillips, State Assemblyman (known today as State Congressman) resided in this home through the 1930's. It is a full 2 story cabin built with oak logs.
LOCATION: 5 miles from Pigeon Forge, Tn off Wears Valley Road. Off the beaten path, this gravel road will take you up the mountain (don't worry, the steepest part is paved) to a beautiful meadow. Convenient to the tourist attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, a short drive to Smoky Mountain National Park but secluded enough that you can here a car driving in from a mile away.
PAYMENT: All payments are due in full at time of booking. Payments are made through VRBO's Homeaway Payments. Homeaway automatically puts a hold on those funds. If we are forced to decline your reservation for any reason, the hold on your funds will take 5 to 7 business days to release. This is VRBO's Homeaway Payments policy. We have no control over this and do not even see your credit card information.

This is our second time staying here and we will be back! Nice and quiet, very relaxing! We are trying to figure out a way to live here!!! Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s working! I will say the road to get there is quite an experience though, still will be back!!!

We are thrilled you had such a wonderful experience and would love to host you again.
Stayed here twice now and would like to stay here again. The road is a little tricky, but the destination is well worth it. Really like the how the cabins ate situated with the meadow in front.
We arrived at the cabin and were astonished at the beautiful valley. The cabin gave us the old time feeling with modern amenities. There were 6 of us and our dog staying, but we didn't feel cramped. The cabin isn't far from town and there was plenty to do. We also got to see a bear early one morning and could hear the turkeys talking.
Owners were very nice and easy to work with. Cabin was very cozy, clean, and the working fireplace was wonderful. The driveway to the meadow was alittle steep but well worth getting to the beautiful meadow that 4 cabins set in. Enjoyed our stay very much.
We had a dance competition at the Leconte Center. This cabin was only 12 min away. We were able to get away and be in the mountains on acres of land where the boys could run around outside. The layout of the cabin was perfect. The boys loved sleeping in the loft style room upstairs. It was definitely a great get away location.
Our family loved this sweet cabin and the location was just beautiful! Quiet, serene and relaxing the whole weekend.
We had plenty of room, beds were comfy, porch and rockers were perfect for cool evenings sitting outside.
We so appreciated Bob sharing the history of the Phillips cabin with us and he was so kind to reach out prior to our arrival.
Thanks again for making our family time away so memorable.
This was one of the most relaxing and comfortable stays we have had in a long time. It was an old cabin and very unique. We had a fire every night, it was cool when we went. The property is beautiful and there was wild life daily. The road to the cabin is an adventure you’ll never forget! Will stay there again!

We're so glad you had a comfortable and enjoyable stay! Thank you for recommending us. You are always welcome back.
This cabin is authentic, rustic, scenic and comfortable. A welcome retreat from the over commercialized touristy town. Just what we needed to get a break from a hectic schedule. Thank you!
GREAT PLACE FOR RELAXING. JUST OUTSIDE OF LOTS TO DO.
ONLY COMPLAINT, POND WAS A BIT GREEN, NOT GOOD FOR FISHING DURING OUR VISIT.
ENJOYED OUR VISIT!!!!
We loved the cabin but it needs some updating. The cushions in the living room on the rocking chairs were old and nasty. Also the couch pillows need to be replaced with something pretty and clean. We would go back as long as these issues are taken care of.Janet Moores
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this rustic cabin with its wrap around porch and plenty of rocking chairs to enjoy the peace and quiet outdoors. It is a very private area with 4 cabins on the property. The only downside is the road/drive to access the property is very narrow and some areas very rough and bumpy and in need of some work. That aside though, the property was beautiful and we all enjoyed our stay very much.
We arrived in pitch darkness. We had no problem locating the cabin. The final drive in includes some rather steep portions with switchbacks. They were much less challenging the next day in the daylight. We enjoyed the cabin. Well supplied, nice rooms, comfortable accomodations. Bob communicated with us well despite the fact that his location had just been hit by a bad hurricane. Very unique historical cabin but with all the necessities.
The cabin is a beautiful rustic cabin one of a kind. On top of a beautiful scenic moutain. Just wasnt prepared to be that high up. Would differently recommend for anyone who wants a break from real life and not afraid of heights or mind being on top of a secluded moutain with 3 other cabin in sight you will need all wheel drive to get up certain areas of the road or have experience driving the mountain roads lol 😆 the cabin is beautiful and the surrounding breathtaking
drive only withc3 other cabins in sogt
Loved our stay at the Saylor cabin in Pioneer Meadow. The cabin was exactly as described. If I had one complaint, it would be that the ac did not properly cool the upstairs where the bedrooms are. The owners did have a couple fans up there and there was a ceiling fan, but it did get a bit stuffy. A window AC unit would do wonders. The pond was not as expected. Had a green slime on top that made fishing difficult, but we enjoyed the area anyway. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
