Marquette Island Escape

This was a great family vacation. The house has plenty of space to spread out and all we needed for a relaxing week. Kayaks were a lot of fun too. Loved having morning coffee on the porch, taking in the lake views.

Inaccurately Described and Very Dirty

We had several concerns about our stay that did not get resolved. The listing includes wifi, bathroom towels, and kitchen towels; these were not included when we got there. (Wifi was turned on, but did not work.) Beautiful location! But we weren't notified about the lack of potable water until just before we got there. The house was also extremely dirty. We had to sweep, mop, clean leftover dirty dishes, clean cobwebs, and vacuum dead bugs off of window sills and bare mattresses. (The beds were not made up.) We also had to clean up tipped over BBQs and sweep the deck. Any updates provided from the owner were provided at the last minute, when it was already too late to cancel/reschedule. We asked for a refund of the cleaning fee since we did the cleaning; the owner refused. We also asked for a partial refund of the nightly rate since the described amenities on the listing were much different from how we actually found them; the owner also refused. This would have been a wonderful place to visit if it were accurately described and properly cleaned.
