Welcome to The Tuis Nest!

This property is available for medium to long term rate from May to the end of August. Please enquire for a tailor-made weekly/monthly rate for this.

This beautiful, architecturally designed Bach leaves no stone unturned. Situated in a safe cul-de-sac on Waitui reserve. With views to the iconic Mount and just a 5 minute walk to the gorgeous Omanu beach (patrolled in summer), and cafe. Indoor outdoor flow that opens up onto a huge sports field (college), and access to college tennis courts, you are spoilt for choice for outside entertainment.

3 bedrooms including a king with ensuite, a queen and a custom built bunk room with 4 long single bunks. (2 extra futons)
Television in bunk room also, so pop a movie on for the kids while you carry on in the main living.

Wrap around decks, a 6 seater spa, BBQ, outdoor games and ocean sports at your finger tips, what more could you want? or just close it all off for your private haven!

The abundance of boutique shopping, restaurants and bars of Mount Maunganui is just a 5 minute drive away, but if you want to stay in and enjoy this fabulous house, then takeaways, bottle store and dairy are all within a 5 minute walk.

You have hot pools, Bay Wave leisure centre, 2 golf courses all within 5 minutes, a movie theatre, shopping mall and much much more.

There is an additional linen charge of $20 per person per stay. Cleaning fee applies per stay and varies depending on group size. Per night prices vary depending on dates and number of guests. Great Stay!!

We had a great time staying here. It was such a crazy windy day in Tauranga and I read the host’s message wrong and we turned up early. However, they were super lovely and let us stay and hang out/have lunch out on the deck while they finished up cleaning. The property was lovely and great location too.

There is ample living space and the living room opens to the outdoor deck area which made for seamless living. There was plenty of room for two families with four kids in the bunk rooms. Thank you for the beautiful space.

Awesome property in a fantastic location. Clean and well appointed with everything you need.

The property is very comfortable to stay in and has everything that you need. The indoor/outdoor flow is fantastic especially when you open the back gate to let in the view of The Mount across the college grounds. We stayed in school holidays so it was uninterrupted. Fantastic location. We had a wonderful holiday despite the weather!!! Would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely, comfortable, well laid out house. Located on the rear section, it backs the field and is very private. Loved the simplicity and ease of stay. Everything that we needed was there. The property is located close to the beach, cafes and shops, which was great. The owners made the booking process quite easy, with great communication. Mount Maunganui Gem

Our family spent a week over New Year at this property and could not be happier. The house was fantastic, it was clean and spacious, and had absolutely everything that we needed. We loved the large open living area and large sliding doors that opened onto a beautiful deck with a great view of the Mount. We enjoyed using the gas barbeque, as well as the outdoor hot tub, which was a family favourite! The house’s location was awesome, it was in a quiet neighbourhood, but was only 10 minutes walk to the beach and was very close to a shopping mall and supermarket (also in easy walking distance). The host Erika was wonderful and very responsive to our needs. We loved the house and would highly recommend it for a stay at the Mount, it far exceeded our expectations.

Well designed and well-appointed home

We enjoyed our stay. The property is as described, and the photos are accurate to the property. A well-designed home. The bed was really comfortable, soft but supportive. The water pressure in the shower is great. It has all the amenities you need and lots of little extras. We found it quiet, peaceful and private. We were there in winter, so didn't use the outdoor space. I can imagine opening up the huge sliding door in summer enjoying the indoor/outdoor space and opening up the back gate to give even more feeling of space is a great bonus. There was only 3 of us so lots of space. Erika was very accommodating which we appreciated. We enjoyed the spa but prefer a deeper one might be a bit squishy with 6 people. The heat pump struggled a little with heating the area. We were there with a particularly cold snap, so that would have had an impact. On the one sunny day we had it was pleasant and warm and didn't need the heat pump on. There were lots of snuggly blankets so that was good. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Unexpectedly disappointed

Unfortunately our last day and communication with the property manager has left us with a bad review on our experience. I was accused of taking things from the property. These were false accusations as the missing equipment was later found by the property owner. Equipment which was not used was said to be “broken”. I was charged a plumbing fee as the sink was apparently blocked (no receipt or photo evidence of this was provided) I left the house clean but unfortunately not clean enough so i was charged extra for cleaning (although i already paid in advance for cleaning) Only half of my bond money was returned. I will not be returning here after this experience

I have made a mistake with my review of this guest, confusing them with previous guests. The house was left in a mess, sink in kitchen was completely blocked which required a plumber. guests were not ready to leave at check out time. I had to call an extra cleaner to get the house ready in time for the next guests as ended up short on time due to late check out. Cigarette butts inside, in beds and all around the outside. The first time I’ve had to take money from a bond. Disappointed.

Top priced house but not what I expected

Description says the first 2 bedrooms are a king bed and queen beds, but they are a queen and a double. The third bedroom is 4 singles as bunk which it is, but the room was so tiny and it was like a hot house. It really needs air con. Plus if you want to sleep 10, as described in the house advert, then I think the extra 2 mattresses would be put in this room, and it would be totally crowded. We only had 3 in the 3rd bedroom and noone in the room was happy. The room had a floor standing fan but it really did nothing the keep the room comfortable. Based on the top end price of the house, I did not feel it met the standards of the price. Plus the ad says tennis courts just outside the house, but they belong to the school and are locked and not available. On a positive side, the house was a lovely space, modern, clean, lots of utensils etc. Hosts were friendly and polite, but they live in their 2 story house right next door and their balcony looks straight down on you, so if you are a private person, this property might not suit you. Property does not match the description or the price. Air con definately needed in third room to make it comfortable to sleep and live in. I would not stay there again at that price. .

I’d like to respond to this review. I’ve NEVER had a complaint like this before. You can see this from our review history. Firstly the ensuite IS king size, the second room IS a queen. The bunk room is NOT tiny. We clearly state IF you want to sleep 10 it’s is mattresses on the floor. You happened to stay at an extremely hot time of year, when all houses are hot. The main house has air con and the rooms have fans. I had made it clear we live next door so for any needs just ask. Extra fans could have been supplied on request with no problem. The tennis courts are right outside the house as stated and as written in the manual you just need to ask for a key from us. Finally, regarding us being next door, this is a positive as we are there for any issues/problems. We are very conscious not to encroach on privacy and have installed privacy screens to this end. I am extremely surprised with the negativity of this review. I encourage anyone reading this to look to past reviews.

This property was immaculate and very well equipped. Everything needed was provided. Erika was such a gracious host and quick to respond to any queries. We were only a few minutes away from the beach and a shopping mall which was very convenient. Definitely look forward to returning!
