Cozily set up for two with a comfy queen size bed, enjoy cooking and dining in the cute kitchenette with new, quiet, refrigerator, 2-burner gas stove (no oven), microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, pots, pans & dishes, Bathroom with a shower, plenty of linens! Or use the propane BBQ while enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Equipped with gas heater and new, quiet, A/C. Explore the quiet surroundings, stroll to Crane Creek moments away, then rest under the shady oaks and pines. Foresta is a great starting point to various Yosemite destinations, Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows, the Merced & Tuolumne Groves of Sequoias and many hiking trails. Offering Free satellite TV, WIFI and HughesNet Gen4 internet, Verizon's 4G network is also available.

Foresta is located within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. Now known as an “inholding”, Foresta (Big Meadow) started as a pioneering area. Two ranches (McCauley and Meyers) provided beef, pork, dairy and vegetables to the Yosemite Valley hotels. In the twenties, it was sub-divided and given the name of Foresta. Created as an “artistic” community, musical gatherings were held by the creek. After the Great Depression, many lots were sold for back taxes. Approximately 75 homes were in use, either full time or seasonally, before the 1993 A-Rock fire destroyed most of them. More than half of the homes have now been rebuilt. Fire has been a defining force in this area, showcasing Mother Nature's endless cycles.

Take garbage and recycling out to the dumpsters upon check out, or any time during your stay. They are located 2 miles from the home on the Foresta Rd., You will see them. Bags provided.

Please check out by 10:00 a.m., this is important as our house cleaner is very busy and has a busy schedule.
Take out garbage and recycling often and on check out day, dumpsters are located 2 miles from the home on the paved Foresta Road. Save the bears!

Amazing location!

My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Yosemite. The cabin was small but had everything we needed. Location was really amazing - we were in heart of Yosemite Valley in 30 minutes. Bonus - Foresta Falls hike right outside our door!

Perfect for us… easy access to Valley and Tioga Rd… gorgeous surrounding scenery. We could cook simple meals and enjoyed walks to nearby sites (old barns, Foresta Falls). Annie was a delight to work with.

Peaceful cabin off the beaten path

The cabin was in a beautiful location and perfect for two! It was nicely appointed and comfortable and allowed us to escape the crowds of the valley and really appreciate the stunning beauty of the area. So quiet!!

Perfect little cabin

The place was perfect for what we needed. We did a lot hiking and exploring so this gave us a great place to come back and relax to. It was quiet and away from the crowds. The shower has amazing pressure but make sure you close the bottom all the way to keep water from leaking out. Highly recommend.

Great Location!

Easy access to Yosemite Valley and other attractions. I was impressed with the fully stocked kitchen supplies. The cabin is great for a couple but won't recommend it for more than two people. Very quiet and peaceful.

Awesome stay in the heart of the park!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Shady Grove cabin. The location cannot be beat!! Loved spending time at the creek down the way and the accessibility to Yosemite Valley. Even saw a mama bear and two cubs in our secluded neighborhood. It was amazing! This place is perfect for a couple looking for the comforts of home and a place close to the park.

The perfect stay

We booked this place for our first stop on our honeymoon. We are from Chattanooga. Tn. We loved the location. It is in nature and away from traffic and crowds. We took amazing pictures on the road that takes you to the place. Everything was in driving distance. It really set our honeymoon off to a great start.

Great location

My spouse and I loved staying at this property. We stayed for four nights. It’s close to all major attractions yet peaceful and not crowded like the valley. We are early risers and we’re able to see the park each day before it was too crowded. Everything you need is in the cabin. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We definitely plan to return for a week long stay.

This was a simple cabin in the woods. Warning: a lot of information in the ad is incorrect. The property is 25 minutes from Yosemite Valley. Many of the amenities listed were NOT provided (no Mountain View, shampoo, coffee grinder, electric kettle, bowls). The wi-fi did not always work and is very slow when it does. The electricity was out for 12 hours which meant additionally no water or gas. Communication with the owner during this time was minimal and there was no offer of compensation or assistance provided. A more accurate description would have gone a long way to manage expectations.

Fantastic cabin

Absolutely fantastic experience. 16 minutes from the call just off 120. Drive to the valley was so beautiful, we loved it. Completely stocked kitchen. We had the best time. Thanks so much Rick and Annie. Hope to stay with your property again!!!!

I selected this location when looking for an option to visit my brother who lives/works in Yosemite. Was looking for more space than a hotel offers and better price point. This was great. Allowed us to cook some (nice since there aren’t a ton of options in the park). Enjoyed sitting out on the deck too.

Peaceful Cabin in the Park

Highly recommend this cabin if wanting to stay in the park, but also enjoy some peace from the crowds. It is close to the valley but has the feeling of peace of privacy in the mountains (with A/C!). There are a few close neighbors, but we never heard them. We brought in groceries and enjoyed breakfast/dinner out on the porch each day. Only recommendation is to print off the directions the host provides or your own because it’s a bit hard to find the first time, especially with no service.

Everything was just as advertised. We are seniors and everything was very comfortable. It was our first trip to Yosemite. I had a double hernia the day before we left so I relaxed a lot on the great deck. we did tour the park one day, but left on Sunday even though we had paid for 3 nights . Wanted to sleep in my own bed and heart home. I highly recommend this cottage in Foresta.l

Very nice and basic cabin. Very quiet and peaceful, at the very end of the road. A good location inside the park.The outside deck is small and open so if when it rained we couldn't use the outside seating.Only issue is the water. Water pressure is poor, for a long haired woman it is very hard to rinse shampoo. Since the cabin uses well water, guests are asked to use water very sparingly. It made me feel a bit guilty when taking a shower, not to mention we are asked to keep toilet flushing to a minimum.
