Beautiful quiet place to relax. Excellent hosts.
Would definitely recommend.
My mom and I stayed at this beautiful place for 5 nights and it was the perfect place to sit and enjoy Whitehorse. 15 mins from Whitehorse itself but an am easy and picturesque drive. The condo is fully equipped with everything you need to make this your home away from home. Hosts are responsive, generous and accommodating. All around perfect trio!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful place - the scenery and area were amazing. We could not have had better hosts than Alain and Carolyne, who worked very hard at ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay. We are looking forward to returning soon.

One of the best equipped kitchens we have ever rented. The rest of the house was equally nice
This home is exactly as described. It is spacious and very comfortable. We preferred the somewhat remote location so we could be immersed in the rural area of Whitehorse.Al was very friendly, offered helpful hints and was generous in his support. If friends or family visit Whitehorse, I will absolutely recommend the beautiful retreat. Thanks Alaine.Bruce
The lodge is gorgeous, the surrounding area is breathtaking and Al is a delightful host. We were so lucky that we were able to stay at the Cranberry Lodge. It's well-equipped with thoughtful amenities. Although it would have been helpful to have a rental car, we enjoyed walking to Scout Lake and relaxing in the hot tub and grounds.
We had a great stay, it is a very quiet cabin and the property is the perfect distance away from the city. The cabin itself was very clean, and I appreciated that we had a washer and dryer to do laundry as we ended up staying an extra night. Alain was very understanding as I wanted to book an extra 2 nights due to a blizzard, but ended up only staying one extra night as it didn't snow as much as expected. He was quick to book us in for the needed days and quick to give a refund when we decided to leave early and that was very kind.
This property was a great place for our family of 6 to get together. We came from three different locations for our family reunion. Enjoyed husky Mushing the Spa and we did get a peek of a Northern Light ( not lights). The house is well equipped and our Host was Super. Thank you All and Carolyne for a wonderful week, and accommodating us so our family could all be together.
We stayed with Al and Carolyne in August 2023. Their guest home was immediately kept and has everything you need and more! Considering we drove from Edmonton, it is a quick drive to wherever want to go to see the sites the Yukon has to offer and then enjoy a soak in the hot tub at the end of the day.
It was wonderful to have main floor bedroom for my mom who has arthritis and has a hard time walking up and down the stairs.
I would highly recommend your next stay be a Cranberry Lodge!
We used Alains property mainly in the hope of seeing the Lights. We were not disappointed with two showings within the week.
The property had three good sized rooms for six people to enjoy with space, good kitchen dining room and chairs.
Hot tub was a bonus, though a little too much on the chemicals by the hot tub guy, and plenty of firewood for the fire pit.
Nice and clean, lots of heat.
The TV area was away in a corner and that suited us as we were more into chatting with friends and playing board games etc round the dining table.
We really enjoyed the vacation, and lots to do in winter in Whitehorse
Cranberry Lodge offers an exceptional experience, with perfect hosts who offer friendliness, warmth, clear directions, responsiveness and invaluable advice.
The lodge's location in the serene Ibex valley offers breathtaking views and is an ideal spot for viewing the Northern Lights, plus it's only a short drive from the Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs.
The lodge itself is spacious, clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, with an incredibly well equipped kitchen, cozy bedrooms, comfy beds and well-stocked bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need: plenty of pots, pans, utensils, dishes, coffee maker, etc There are even books, games, TV with Netflix and strong WIFI -- for the long winter nights.
The outdoor space includes an amazing hot tub, fire-pit, snowshoes, sleds, and a playground area.
Overall, Cranberry Lodge is highly recommended for anyone seeking a cozy, comfortable, and unforgettable vacation rental experience.

This place was everything we had hoped for and more. Lots of room. Beautiful inside and out. Well furnished with all necessary amenities supplied. My son had a medical emergency our first night there and Al was very helpful and compassionate. Gave us their landline to call an ambulance, talked with 911 operator, waited outside to guide the ambulance, and left us a landline phone for the week in case we needed it. (Cell phone was spotty). He was great and we couldn’t have asked for a better host. Answered any questions I had about the area, gave us suggestions…. Just amazing. Other than that, like I said the accommodation is perfect. You should not hesitate renting this place. You will not be disappointed!!
We were VERY happy with our stay. The place is beautiful, inside and out. The cabin is lovely with basically everything you could want or need, and the location is excellent. Remote but not so far away from things as to be difficult. A 25 minute drive into town and amenities, but because of the gorgeous scenery the drive felt like ten minutes!! There is a great 2km trail to a lake which was a lovely walk. Ideal viewing of northern lights when they’re out too. So special. The cabin is supplied with bedding, towels, all the kitchen equipment as well as condiments and seasoning. Toiletries were plentiful as well. Plenty of great board games, puzzles, books for inside days. Loved the art on the walls too. And there were toboggans, kick sleds and snowshoes for outdoor play. Communication with the owners was excellent. They were very responsive. The cabin is attached to the house that the owners live in but it is well separate enough that it doesn’t feel intrusive. I have already recommended this place to a couple of people. Thank you for a great stay!!!
Our group of friends spent five unforgettable nights at Cranberry Lodge just outside Whitehorse, and it was absolute perfection from start to finish. Tucked away in the forest, nestled beside a mountain and overlooking a ravine, this property felt like something out of a dream. The peaceful setting, combined with the immaculate and thoughtfully designed cabin, made it the ultimate retreat. One of the highlights of our stay was the chance to do yoga with the owner, who has a stunning studio located right above the garage. Even though the lodge is right next to the owners’ home, it still felt private and secluded—which we loved.Evenings were spent hot tubbing under the stars, singing around the fire (with a beautifully stocked woodpile!), and soaking in the stillness of the forest. We brought in a private chef, for a special milestone birthday celebration. The commercial kitchen was well appointed and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. Every moment felt special.Cranberry Lodge truly exceeded our expectations—it was clean, cozy, and absolutely magical. If you’re looking for a place to reconnect with friends, nature, and yourself, this is it.If I had to offer any constructive feedback, it would be this: one of the queen beds upstairs really needs a new mattress.

Thank you for the feedback, it's greatly appreciated. The second floor queen mattress was replaced two years ago and we confirmed with our guest that what she meant was in the double/full bed. We promptly purchased new mattresses and box springs for both the double and twin beds for the second floor bedrooms.
Lovely property and well equipped. We wanted to stay outside of Whitehorse, and this fit the bill perfectly. A car is absolutely necessary, and everything is roughly a 30 minute drive. There is a lot to do in the area, and we were out and about most of the time. We would love to go back in the summertime too. Great vacation, and wonderful to escape to a slower pace.
My best friends and I all did a college reunion at Al's cabin and absolutely loved it. The cabin was a perfect place to hideaway from the world for a few days and enjoy the wilderness. Al was kind and thoughtful host.
Cranberry Lodge was a great experience. The lodge is very spacious and can accommodate a group of 7 people. The property has all the amenities that you need and more. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t stay any other place while in Whitehorse. The views are exceptional.
Alain provided an excellent experience for our family of five. He was able to answer all our questions about the home and local sights in a knowledgeable manner. This was truly a home away from home. Thank you!
Our stay in the country in a log cabin was wonderful.
The cabin is very well equipped with everything one would need. The quite tranquil setting is amazing. Yet still located close to Whitehorse and other amenities. Alain was wonderful to deal with .

About the host
Hosted by Alain and Carolyne
Hi, we are your hosts, Al and Carolyne.
We are excited to list the Cranberry Lodge Guest House on VRBO and to share this unique Yukon home with travelers and adventurers from all over the world. We offer beautiful accommodations in a world class setting. As hosts, we will respect your privacy while also being available for any questions you may have about the facilities and travelling in Yukon.
Carolyne is truly multi-talented. She is a primary school teacher but also has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, a Master's degree in Art Education, and is a certified yoga instructor. She offers yoga and art classes as well as group creative retreats in her on-site studio.
Al is a wildlife biologist and handles communication, property maintenance, and gardening. Odds are you'll be chatting with Al when exchanging messages and if you enjoy the meticulous flower gardens in front of the house, well, that's also Al.
Why they chose this property
We own and care for the guest house ourselves and treat it as such. Our approach has been to provide our guests with a vacation rental property such as we would want ourselves when traveling for vacation or work. We have been offering this property since fall 2018, have learned a lot from our guests' feedback, and have thought through most of the little details that truly make a difference to our guests. We are proud of our reviews on this site and others because they reflect the hard work we put in to ensure our guests have a great stay and experience with us. Although our own house and the guest house are joined at the hip, they are two separate houses and your stay with us will be as private as you wish it. We are always there to help if you need anything or have any questions on local amenities and attractions. We look forward to meeting you!
