Born and raised in the Bay Area, our family is a 4th-generation Californian. We are a Christian family, involved with our church and community, and we have young adults who keep us going at a rigorous pace... We push ourselves and our kids to excel in our work, so we cherish our vacation time together, when we can put obligations aside and just eat, sleep, and laugh.

Why they chose this property

We are a Northern California extended family with ties to the Santa Barbara area. We found this perfect spot in Summerland, so we jumped in. This property is unusually large for the area...1/3 of an acre, so we think we're pretty lucky to have it. We get down here quite often, and our family converges here for easy days and nights. Our mother grew up in Orange, where her father owned and ran the local grocery store, Thompson's Market. She's not here any more, but we know she loves that we have a place in her beloved SoCal. She would really LOVE just sitting on the patio with a cup of tea and the ocean...

What makes this property unique

As mentioned in the description, this place just feels good. It has a kind of serenity that is hard to find, and you can feel it when you walk in. I think the high ceilings combined with warm, comfortable furnishings give you an ensconced feeling: that you are safe and sound. It also feels very private, as there are really no spots where neighbors are nearby looking in. It's an oasis. With an ocean view. Can't beat that.
