About this property
The High Carolew Over Brevard:A Scenic Mountain Escape b/t Asheville & Cashiers
The High Carolew, named after my dad (Lewis) & mom (Carolyn), was born from Dad’s hard-earned money & Mom’s gifted sense of style. This gorgeous home sits on 27 acres atop Liz Reese (Indian Camp) Mountain on the highest spot in the gated community. Enjoy all the modern comforts of home while absorbing most scenic opportunities Southern Appalachian has to offer. In less than an hour, you can venture out anywhere from Asheville to Highlands. Odds are, though, that you’ll want to stay put: It’s all right here!
Transylvania County, North Carolina is the Land of 1000 Waterfalls. There are so many hiking trails and scenic opportunities available there’s not sufficient space to list them all. To highlight a few things: the town of Brevard is 15 minutes away; the Asheville airport is about 50 minutes away; The Biltmore House and the 50 yard-line at Death Valley in Clemson are right at an hour away. Heading northwest, you can hit Lake Toxaway, Sapphire, Cashiers, and Highlands within an hour. If you want to venture up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, it is also under an hour and is accessed by taking the most beautiful road in North Carolina, Highway 215. If you’d like to fly fish, mountain bike, or hike, you are right where you need to be!
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home. The owner is in a separate cabin down the hollow on the same 27-acre parcel.
Interaction with guests
Bubba places great value in his own privacy and most certainly respects yours. Having said that, he will most likely be in his cabin that he built eight years ago deep down in the hollow on same 27-acre parcel as the High Carolew. You should feel free to let him know if you need anything during your respite. In the event he is not around, he will have provided you a contact name and number in the event of emergency or if there is any special dispensation you require.
Other things to note
The High Carolew will be stocked with a variety of breakfast foods, coffees, teas and a variegated spread of snacks for your enjoyment. Bear in mind that there is a fully stocked kitchen at your disposal in the event you want to prepare any meals during your stay. All linens and towels are provided along with extra blankets, pillows, towels for hot tub, etc. There will be an easily accessible, generous supply of cured split logs for the upstairs wood-burning fireplace. (The downstairs fireplace is gas-burning.) Additionally, the High Carolew will be stocked with games for the kids and adults, including poker tables, chips, bridge tables, an Olympic-size pool table, and a pub-style dartboard...
Not to mention a BRAND NEW, 5-person hot tub overlooking the majestic Jocassee Gorges!
