About this property

Lovely, comfortable apartment In Branscombe, Devon close to beach

A lovely, light and airy, ground floor apartment, superbly equipped with everything you need, in a block of 4, situated in the village square, close to the beach and coastal footpath. Sleeps 2- 4 people in comfort.
A perfect place in the centre of the beautiful village of Branscombe for a peaceful and relaxing holiday and an ideal base for exploring this wonderful area of East Devon and the Jurassic Coast.
Due to the challenging circumstances of CV19, the apartment will be thoroughly cleaned between guests and all hard surfaces wiped down. The countryside is excellent for walks with minimal social interaction and the apartment is well equipped for self catering.
The quiet, unspoilt beach is a 5 minute stroll away alongside a stream, with just one thatched roof cafe, with outside seating area, serving delightful home cooked food. Fishing trips are available from the fishing village of Beer, 3 miles away. There is a real ale pub close by, also with an outside eating area.
This lovely Devon holiday accommodation consists of an entrance hall leading to a spacious, tastefully furnished sitting room with separate dining area, seating up to eight people. The kitchen is very well equipped for those of you who like to do your own cooking. The sleeping accommodation consists of a comfortable double bedroom and a second bedroom with bunk beds. There is a bathroom with an electric shower over the bath. We often stay at the apartment ourselves and have made sure that it is thoughtfully furnished with everything you need to make your holiday thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing. It is also very competitively priced in this much sought after holiday area.
Please note in high season bookings are on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday.
Branscombe is a small picturesque village situated on the Jurassic coast of East Devon. It has been featured in the Guardian as one of the best British beaches. The services in the apartment include: Freeview digital TV, DVD and I-pod player, full internet access, washing machine, electric hob and oven, fridge with freezer compartment, ironing board and iron, toaster, kettle, coffee percolator, well stocked library of books, maps and board games, telephone for incoming calls, duvets on beds and bed linen provided. The apartment is all electric including heating and electricity is included in the price.
There is a parking space for one car in front of the apartment.
The real ale pub serving good food is a short walk across the village square.
Bed linen is included in the price.
Further afield but walkable along the SW footpath are the quaint fishing village of Beer to the East and the old English resort of Sidmouth to the West. And if you need to get in your car, Lyme Regis and the rest of Devon and Dorset with many holiday attractions are just a short ride away.
Some of the attractions for children within 10 miles include;
Donkey sanctuary, Beer Pecorama, Seaton tramline, Crealey adventure park, Bicton gardens, Devon Wildlife trust geocaching.
‘Nestlecombe is a wonderful jewel. I have been staying for a weeks holiday for the last four years – we love it. The flat has everything you need and a fully functional kitchen. .........The property is as advertised…’ Close to quiet beach, coastal footpath and local pub. Charming Branscombe flat
I am an American Morris Musician who was performing at a folk festival in Sidmouth, only a short ride from Branscombe. I was looking for something a little off the beaten path. I was only sorry that I didn't have more time to explore the quiet and quaint town, including the very lovely-looking pub that was just a short walk from my door. Jean provided me with everything I needed in the flat for cooking and even tons of entertainment options which I didn't get to use. The place was spotless and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again!

Clean, quiet flat with lots to do in surrounding area
The property was clean, quiet and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. There are lots of things to do in the local area, such as Beer Pecorama, the Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth, Seaton Tramway and Beer Quarry Caves We also visited both Branscombe and Beer beaches, as well as walking sections of the South West coast path. We had a great week and were very sorry to leave!

Charming village
Revisited Branscombe after 31 years. Still a beautiful little village. The apartment met our expectations. The location was great. Close to paths, the pub and a short walk to the beach. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

We live in Yorkshire but have a large extended family in Devon and miss being able to be near them, so we have the apartment as a foothold in Devon. We let it out when we are not visiting and like to keep it nice and welcoming for our visitors..

Why they chose this property

We stayed here for a holiday and liked it so much we inquired about whether it might be for sale and it was! We bought it the same day as the famous wrecking of the Napoli off the coast nearby in the winter of 2007. Not a good start at the time!

What makes this property unique

Such a beautiful area and very unspoilt. Reviews from our guests often talk about finding a 'hidden jewel' in Devon. We never tire of the fantastic and varied walks around the village and over the cliffs on the coastal footpath. The views are stunning and we always manage to find new walks we have never been on before.
