You feel secluded and at home - meanwhile, you are a short walk from downtown Kihei. Our entire condo was recently remodeled and offers a fully furnished kitchen, two spacious bedrooms equipped with queen-size beds, full bathroom with granite countertops, living/dining room, a lanai, and is air-conditioned. The condo is located on the ground floor and is a corner unit, allowing for maximum privacy and ease of entry (handicap accessible). Complimentary hi-speed Wi-Fi will help you stay connected, or relax in front of our 42in HD tv. Newly installed tropical-themed furniture is complimented by local Hawaiian artwork to give you the true feeling of island living. The lanai provides the perfect space to sit outside in privacy and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning. If you feel like relaxing nearby, the newly renovated pool is the perfect place to indulge in the sun. The connected grilling area featuring two large stainless steel grills is perfect for barbecuing or to throw your own Luau!
Let your feet take you to one of the numerous boutique stores and local markets you’ll find nearby. You’ll be enchanted by the Hawaiian craftsmanship and Island themes. Or, walk the beach through beautiful Wailea. This place and location was amazing! I would definitely stay again. Daniel was very accommodating quick to respond. The location was great as well. It was an unforgettable experience. No central ac but with the room coolers it was very comfortable. Beds and couch very comfortable we slept 6 to 8 hours a night.
This home is very comfortable and clean. It is walking distance to three separate, fabulous, beaches and numerous eating establishments. The onsite pool is lovely. What could be better?
A comfortable, well stocked, place to stay that is close to the beaches and all the amenities that Kihei offers. Would be happy to return.

Love this place! Great pool (8' in deep end) 2 BBQ'S enclosed in granite countertops. Outside seating covered for use in all weather. 1 block from ocean/Charlie Young Beach ⛱️. Great location to access ALL THINGS!
This condo is in a great location, walking distance to markets, restaurants and beaches. Well equipped, nice pool area, ground floor with walk out balcony.
The unit is centrally located. Unit was clean and neat, came with some basic essentials. Owner was very responsive to question I had during checking in. Nice place and i will definitely check this place next time I return to island

Daniel and Carrie were super friendly! Really enjoyed our stay at this cute two bedroom condo. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was great - walking distance to shops and restaurants (Roughly 1/2 mile either way on S Kihei Rd) but a block off the main road provided a peaceful stay. There's coin laundry on the premises, as well as a nice little pool and BBQ area when you want a break from the beaches. We couldn't have asked for anything more, especially for the price!
We had a great stay at this ground floor condo. Very comfortable living room furniture which is not always the case. Just a few steps from the pool. Daniel was an excellent host and very easy to contact and communicate with. Secluded patio was perfect for morning coffee. Close to "downtown" with, shops, restaurants etc..
Walking distance from a beautiful park and beach. We will definitely stay again when we come back to Maui.
I am sorry you Missed' your flight to Maui...Giving a 1 star rating because you were unable to visit Maui is Not a reflection of the property. You signed a non-refundable contract. Future guests please look @ all the reviews where guests stayed on property. Please consider buying Travel Insurance.

We rented the condo due to the location - very walkable, close to many restaurants, shopping, beaches, bus line - no car needed.
The condo was exceptionally clean and had most of what we needed - what it was missing is minor, we let the owner know, and they may even be there by the time you stay. It doesn't have a TV in either of the bedrooms, which might be a nice upgrade, but the living room TV was great.
The place is quiet, beds are comfortable, nice pool and BBQ area. And the hot water is amazing - it seemed like there's a recirculator. Overall, we'd stay again.

Well kept condo just off of the main strip (S Kihei) so nice and quiet. Great to wake up to bird song in the morning, and at most a 5 minutes walk to the beach, and a couple more to shops and restaurants. Well laid out 2 bedroom, clean, neat, spacious.
Take a snorkel and check out the ?dozen green sea turtles and way more fish who hang out near the rocks that bracket the beach. Even better snorkeling if you drive about 15 minutes south - but you can find that out by checking through the books and brochures that are thoughtfully provided in the condo.
Overall this apt was all we needed for the three of us - my husband and I and my BFF from Feb 27 - March 5/24. It is close to the beaches although we would drive because my husband has mobility issues. The bathroom is small but adequate. The portable air conditioning unit in the bedroom is definitely needed because it gets very warm in there. The closet in the primary is crowded because the owner has a lot of personal stuff stored there in trunks but overall not a big deal. The lighting could definitely be better, but again a little thing. All the rentals are so expensive in Maui, and this price was right for our first trip here.

The place was just as it said very clean!!Charming decore,you get what you pay for!!! The major problem I had was with the bugs,as everyone knows you are going to a tropical climate the very first thing I see when I pull back the covers is a cockroach second went to the store got a few groceries had them on the counter for a short time and little small ants were everywhere ( still in containers) all over the bags moved a few small appliances from the counter and was just grossed out. Kept my cool sent Pat the guy who takes care of Dan's property a text and nothing no reply no fix so if the bugs don't bother you it would be fine and like I said it had nothing to do with cleanliness the place was very clean Perhaps a new manager that puts more interest for you and your guests -Ended up Renting a different place

Thank you for sharing your concerns. As you can imagaine, living in the tropics we do occasionally have bugs. However, Kalama Terrace actively has a top notch Exterminator/ Pest Control Program for preventive maintenance. I lived in/on this property for over 6 years and Never' had your experience. Kalama Terrace property manager had pest control evaluate my property & treat my unit accordingly.
To my future travelers, guest satisfaction is very important to me personally. i will do my Very Best to make you as comfortable as possible during your stay on beautiful Maui.
Has almost everything you need, but it is an old building
Likes:
-parking spot included
-great location, next to beach and restaurants and activities
-nice patio, can watch birds in the morning
-plenty of beach towels and normal towels
-ice cube trays and Tupperware with ice made for a nice ice pack. There is a Styrofoam cooler in the kids room
-vanity in the kids room
-beach chairs and some beach toys included
-hand sanitizer included
-A/C included in main room and adult room
Dislikes:
-Old building, didn't really get a "luxurious" feel. Especially the bathroom.
-Dim lighting everywhere
-There was an almost empty bottle of Conditioner. Daniel said it wasn't included so we needed to buy our own if we wanted more. The body wash was "for men" and was very heavily scented.
-Windows don't fully close and it can be noisy outside, especially when garbage truck comes by. Mosquitos and a lizard somehow came in with the doors closed.
- some dishes were covered in old grease/oil so we had to scrub them before use
FYI no check in to an association (like some other condos for rental), it is a lock box. Also there is a ring camera at the entrance, not sure what it connects to.

Good value, condo needs some updating
Overall I'd say this condo was ok. Here's a few things we liked.
1. The pool was great, very clean, not too busy.
2. Air conditioning functioned very well at the condo when required. Also lots of air flow through the property meant you didn't need to use it too much.
3. The beds were quite comfortable. Never know what you will get on VRBO.
A couple issues with the condo would be as follows:
1. Kitchen is in pretty rough shape. One broken drawer, not much for quality kitchen tools, some cracks along exterior walls allowing ants to come in and the bottom of the cabinets are getting really beat up. There is a hole on one side at the bottom of the cabinets and had to kill a few roaches here. It wasn't pretty.
2. Cleaners need to do a better job. We had to re-wash all dishes and floors.
3. Cable package on TV was pretty weak. Only a few channels. Not that you are in Maui to watch TV, but a modest upgrade would be beneficial
Overall the best part of this condo is the price, pool and comfortable beds. But needs some investing to make it a "Luxury Condo".

I'm happy that you recognized the excellent value of my Condo. I pride myself in offering the best vacation experience possible to all my customers. As a new renter on VRBO, I am always open to new suggestions on how to make my property more enjoyable for future guests. I am disappointed that the cleaners did not adequately wash the floors/dishes. I contract the service out and I will address them immediately. As for the kitchen, I will look into upgrading our utensils to parallel our newly installed appliances. Finally sir, the apartment's ground-floor location is one of its many amenities. Because of the condo's location (the tropical island of Maui) you cannot leave food out on the counter-top without attracting bugs. That goes for anywhere on the island. By storing your food in the refrigerator you can immediately remedy the issue. Thank you for your feedback - it is an invaluable asset to making my condo the best value/experience on Maui!

We regret choosing this condo/owner
We stayed at this condo when Hurricane Lane was headed towards the island as a category 4 hurricane. The owner never contacted us to assist with emergency planning. When we left early to escape the hurricane, the owner refused to refund us our unused night.... the night that the hurricane was predicted to possibly make a direct hit on Maui! I am very disappointed in this owner and regret giving him our hard earned money.
The condo is a bit run down, old carpets, water damaged floors and missing pieces in the glass window shutters. The hardest part for us was the air conditioning in the living room does not reach the master bedroom, leaving it uncomfortably hot in the evening. The master bedroom is just feet from a street and I was awoken to cars and trucks coming down the road every morning.
I am a registered nurse from Washington state and I always provide assistance, empathy and compassion to the people I work with. This condo owner showed us none of these principals.. if you find yourself in an unexpected emergency while on the island... don’t expected any help from the owner. By the state of his condo, being a bit run down and having the cheapest kitchen accessories, etc... this owner appears focused on making money and not providing his guests with a positive experience.

Maui is a wonderful place to vacation and is known for great weather and beaches. However, bad weather can occur like anywhere else in the world and is something to consider whenever you go on vacation. VRBO/HomeAway is very clear in explaining the options for trip cancellation and options for trip insurance. Unfortunately, the time had expired per the rules set for rental but I offered to credit the tenant for the day they left early due to bad weather.
Per the VRBO Website:
There are many different types of trip insurance available, but Trip Cancellation and Interruption protection is the most important benefit you should look for. If your trip has to be cancelled for covered reasons such as illness, accident, death of a family member or traveling companion, jury duty, weather conditions which cause delay/ cancellation of travel or fire or flood in your home, this coverage protects your investment and will reimburse the normally non-refundable payments you make for your vacation rental, airline tickets and other covered travel related fees.
Some properties may allow you to transfer your vacation to another time period. We recommend that you find out about the cancellation/refund policy before you rent and ask for the policy in writing when you reserve the property. For additional protection, we recommend that you purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance.
I take great pride in keeping my condo up-to-date. The kitchen and carpets have all been recently updated and I ensure that all kitchen utensils and pans are ready for use.
My condo is great for those who want extra room with 2 bedrooms, on the first floor (which is good for those who have a hard time going up stairs), and want a CLOSE WALK TO THE BEACH. Sometimes there is traffic being near the ocean, however being a block in mitigates that noise.
