This location was nice and secluded, along with being clean and tidy! It was just what my spouse and I needed for a quiet getaway while also enjoying local festivals.
Check in was a breeze, owners are welcoming and available if needed.
Definitely will be looking to book again soon!
We loved staying here. The screened in porch was perfect for sitting out and watching the lightning bugs. There were cows and wild turkeys (both with babies!). The hosts Jeffrey and Angela were both very kind. We drove into Red River Gorge and loved coming home to a relaxing stay. away from people. We would love to stay again.
Second time at this property and we will return, If your looking for peace and quiet, a chance to escape the world this is perfect. Then firepit by the creek and the porch are perfect. Not big but more than enough room for a small group and minutes from Longbow ramps and marina. beautiful place to get away!
TERRIBLE- The owner held our reservation hostage unless we gave her an extra $40 IN CASH, stating that there was a $20 PER HOUR late fee for checking in after 6:00. Per our contract, You needed to call ahead if you would be arriving late to avoid the $20 late fee (not per hour), which we did call ahead to advise. We reviewed the contract we were given and the one that was provided to us to sign at check in and discovered that they were 2 VERY DIFFERENT CONTRACTS. Folks, review all contracts to ensure what you sign is what you were given. You will be charged extra for anything possible. We never ended up staying at the property because we refused to pay her the extra money in CASH. I advise you be aware of the following: 1. Check to ensure that the contract you are signing is the same one that is emailed with your booking 2. Check in is only from 4-6PM, you will be charged outside of this time frame. 3. There is no mention of paying CASH in either of the contracts. 4. Their contract does not allow you to bring your own blankets or pillows. There was no mention of this in ours. 5. Ensure that your booking number is correct, they will charge extra. 6. They keep your credit card on file so when you sign their contract, you are also giving them authorization to charge any amount they deem necessary for whatever excuse they want (this is actually mentioned in an earlier review as well) 7. Make sure all communications are in writing. 8. Find some place else to stay.
We arrived on a Friday evening to a quiet cabin. It backs up to a little babbling creek behind a screened in porch. Saturday we spent the day going to Broke Leg Falls which is beautiful and a short hike. We then drove around Cave Run Lake looking at the sites. We went back to the quietness of the cabin and enjoyed the afternoon. Dinner time came we took a 25 minute Drive to Morehead Kentucky and grabbed something to eat. Upon arriving Friday the host told me about Thunder over Big Woods (FIREWORKS) happening Saturday night of our stay. We went and pulled up to a spot on the side of the road and watched some awesome fireworks. Sunday we got up early I called the host like requested for check out. Over all we had a great stay.
We had everything we needed at this cabin. It was clean and quiet and check in was easy. Communication was good and we had a great stay! Would stay again.

Spring break getaway
The cabin was in a great location and a perfect size for the two of us. It was great to watch the animals in the field, especially the donkeys and newborn calf.
We were a bit disappointed in the comfort of the sitting furniture in the living area. The futon is not good for sitting and was difficult to get out of. It is in much need of replacement. The bed in the loft, however, was very comfy and we slept very well.
We had quite a bit of trouble getting the TV to work. There really should be a list of how to work it provided. Our second night we got help from the owner and she got it working right away. There was WiFi that worked well but no cell phone service. The land line did not work so we had no way of calling out if there had been an emergency.
The kitchen was very limited. We have stayed in several Vrbo rentals at a similar price point, and all have provided complimentary coffee, sugar and creamer. I would like to suggest to include some for the future guests. I found it interesting that there was a small wine fridge but no wine glasses. The cookware is also limited. I wanted to put one of our meals in the oven, but there were no pans or casserole dishes.
We enjoyed our time there, but wish there were a few more comforts after a long day of hiking.

The cabin was dirty when we arrived. There was blood in the bath tube. The pillows were not very thick.
Hosts were wonderful, good communication from booking to the day we left. The day we got there they told us to watch for them to bring the cows in from the pasture behind the cabin, it was such a cool experience to watch. Charming cabin with back screened in porch for morning coffee with serene sounds of the creek and wildlife. Quiet and private, away from other buildings on the property. Well maintained and clean. Everything you could need and less than an hour away from all kinds of activities at Red River Gorge area. Inside was cool in the day and warm at night, nice loft sleeping area, but we slept on the porch bed after a small bonfire outside which was surprisingly comfy! They even had some board games for us to play on the rainy evenings. Thank you Angela and Jeff we would love to come back!

Water’s edge
Location was awesome property was clean inside, not enough bedding, the stairs, going to the bedroom was impossible to climb and especially dangerous with having a dog wanting to climb the steps. Board on the floor of the bedroom was extremely loose.
Check out time was 11 o’clock. The property manager was at the property at 10:30 telling us that we were late even though we still had a half an hour to check out waited for 30 minutes while we finish packing our stuff extremely rude and very unprofessional. Other than that the say was good, and the views and locations was amazing.
Host was extremely welcoming and made sure our stay was perfect. Absolutely loved being able to get away from the city life and just relax. Close to Daniel Boone Forest which was a huge bonus for us. Definitely on our list of places to return
The cabin worked out perfect for our trip. We were looking for a spot with easy access to Red River Gorge and the Cave Run Lake area for hiking and this was a great spot for that. It was a little cold on our trip so didn't really use the outdoor space (deck and screened in area that overlooks the creek), but would love that in a bit nicer weather! Very accommodating and nice cabin!
Hosts were friendly.. we were privileged to meet the farm animals including a new baby calf, Booger. We were “secluded” in nature with wild and farm animals under the stars. Stargazing was amazing… will definately bring our telescope next time. Plenty of room for our boat as we visited to go fishing on Cave Run Lake … was close to several boat launches. The views with the fall colors were amazing and we hope to return in the summer for more fishing and to explore the Daniel Boone National Forest more!!! Would highly recommend!
Very relaxing. Love the setting. Had a great time.
