‘LakeHaven’ is our mountain/lake home located on Monte Verde Lake with priceless views of Wheeler Peak and the lake. A wonderful place year round for relaxing and enjoying your surroundings. You can indulge in summer or winter sports, hike, fish, ski, canoe, or just sit by the fireplace or out on the spacious deck and read a good book. No matter what you pick ‘Lake Haven’ is the place for enjoyment.

The large open living room has a beautiful fireplace and a large screen smart TV & open to dining area that sits 10. You view the gorgeous lake and Wheeler Peak mountain from living area.

The spacious deck off the living room has the same rare view of both Monte Verde lake and the Wheeler Peak mountain (largest in NM) where you can relax, sip coffee, hot chocolate, a cocktail or even have dinner. Often, you will see deer, elk, turkey and other wild life go by.

The kitchen is large and open and you can see all the way through to the view of mountain and lake. It is fullly stocked and has an eating area with a table that seats 6 where you can sit and enjoy the scenery.

The dining area seats 10 and has a beautiful view.

Four of the five bedrooms have spectacular views of the Monte Verde lake and Wheeler Peak mountain.

The master bedroom with a king size bed. Across the hall is a small bedroom with a twin bed. There is a full bathroom with a shower. All are located on main floor with living room,dining area and kitchen.

Downstairs has three bedrooms (the two end bedrooms have queen size beds. Each bedroom has a beautiful view of lake and mountains. With the middle bedroom having a queen bed and a spererate twin bed along with the same view of lake and mountains. Middle room also has large screen TV.

There is a fully equipped laundry room located downstairs and a full bathroom with a tub/shower.

The garage has a ping-pong table to host some friendly competition. There are fishing poles, and sleds. Four wheel drive is not needed to access house since we have a flat driveway & roads to the house.

There is a fire pit in the back yard away from the house with 6 adirondack deck chairs and a picnic table. The pit has a grill that fits on top and you can grill burgers or whatever there. However, please know there is absolutely no grilling or fires of any kind allowed on the patio off the living room or the area underneath that patio. It is strictly not allowed. The fire pit is the only place where a fire of any kind is allowed. It is not to be moved for any reason Sometimes there are open fire restrictions and you should always check with the fire department to find out if any restrictions are in place. PLEASE never leave your fire unattended and be sure it is out before you leave the area.

Quick, easy access to everything in Angel Fire including the ski mountain is about a 5 to 10 minute drive. Monte Verde Lake is a private lake with lots of activities. For activities and fees please contact Monte Verde Lake for current fees and rules.

This was such a beautiful home to spend Christmas with my family. Very spacious and cozy and just a few minutes from Angel fire ski resort which we spent much of our time at. Our host Lori was wonderful and gave clear information on house rules and recommendations. Lori was excellent at responding when we needed help and even helped out when we accidentally left a bag after check out. 10/10 would rent again!

Mountain Get-Away

Property is in a great location right off of the lake that is an easy walk even carrying fishing equipment. Large house with plenty of room for family and friends. Lots of wildlife in the area. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.

Cozy Winter Home with amazing views of Wheeler Peak!

We enjoyed our ski vacation in Angel Fire and coming home to this beautiful and cozy home! Was well appointed, having everything we needed. You’ll love the views of Wheeler Peak and it’s just a short drive to the resort. Would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake!

Perfect, if I'm in angel fire again I won't look to stay anywhere else.

We stayed with a large group including small kids. Location was perfect. Close to ski resort yet isolated enough to appreciate the views of the lake and mountains. Kids could sled on a slope just feet away from the house. House was clean and well equipped. Owner was a joy to work with. We all loved our stay.

Spring Break Fun before the Virus Shut Down

My family had an excellent time staying here. The home was conveniently located to stores, restaurants, and the ski resort. It was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. Wonderful Group Getaway!

My Group and I all had an amazing time here! This property has so much to offer whether you want to spend a cozy day in, or if you want to have an outdoor adventure this is the place to be. The property provides so many different amenities to where you'll yourself never having a dull moment. The Cabin itself is very cozy and fitted with enough beds for any group to be comfortable in. Lori is very helpful and quick to respond with any questions you may have in regards to your stay, overall I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back in the future!

Really enjoyed our stay. Got 20" of snow so that helped too. House overlooks the lake, which was frozen over and snow covered. Although house was fairly clean, there was trash under furniture and cobwebs in kitchen. Kitchen was fully stocked. Zero complaints. Owner was responsive to messages.

Wonderful Friends Snowy Getaway

This property was perfect for 3 couples and children. The layout of the home was exactly what we needed. It’s amazingly insulated so we adults could stay up as loud as we wanted without waking sleeping kiddos! The fully stocked kitchen is large/open so very easy for everyone to move around without feeling congested. The men in our group made an incredible snow slide just on the side of the house that the kids spent hours on. So many laughs! So much love!

Great Mountain Get-away

This was a perfect property for our needs. It's right outside of Angel Fire, so skiing is very accessible. The lake, while mostly frozen over at the time, is within shouting distance. It's also a great point if you're looking to visit the whole Enchanted Circle. Everything was very fresh and clean. The kitchen is huge! We made full use of the sleds and ping pong table which are included. We also saw plenty of deer and birds walk right up to the house, which was thrilling. Overall, this was a fantastic spot to host our family with 6 adults and 2 kids

Septic issues.

We had to leave within 2 hours as the septic was not working. It was around 5 PM when we discovered the problem. We had to relocate to a hotel & found another place to go to the following day. However, that meant over 24 hours of chaos with 2 small children. While the owner was helpful, this has made me realize rentals have major issues which are not easily solved. Also, TV never worked.

Relaxing Week with a great view

A beautiful view of the Monte Verde lake with Mt. Wheeler in the background made a great start to every day in this cozy home. We enjoyed a great week with our kids and grandkids (9 of us) staying at Lake Haven. It was just as advertised. We came over Thanksgiving just to spend time with the family. We enjoyed walks around the lake, hikes in the snow, sledding, watching the deer, playing games around the big dinning room table, putting together puzzles on the table in the kitchen, preparing meals in the big kitchen and eating them around the big table and finishing each day sitting by the warm wood fire place. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils, staples, coffee and hot chocolate. Having a TV upstairs and downstair was nice. Not many house have a big table for eating together which we enjoyed. The kids enjoyed the ping-pong table in the garages which also has sleds and bikes. Lori was helpful to answers questions before and while we were at the house. Staying in Lake Haven will be a good family memory for us.

Great spring break trip!

Great trip to Angel Fire. House is just a short drive to everything and is well- appointed. Had everything and more to cook all week and was plenty of room for 2 families of 4. Kids enjoyed the bunk room with games and there were plenty of movies to watch after a day a skiing. Location on the lake is perfect for any season- very pretty! Would definitely stay again!

Family Ski trip

The property is very cute and spacious and the location was perfect, not to mention the views. Everyone from the kids to adults enjoyed it, it felt very homey. The property is very well equipped with kitchen utensils, blankets, towels etc. plus lots of board games to play for most ages. The instructions for check in were very easy to understand and communication with the owner was great. We will definitely come back on our future ski trips!

Very Memorable and Wonderful Family Christmas

First, Lori was amazing working with us on our accommodations and even went through the trouble of putting up Christmas decorations for our stay during the week of Christmas. Lori, Thank you for that. The house was very beautiful, and it even snowed for us Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The view of Monte Verde Lake and the snowcapped mountains was just amazing. The house was very spacious, clean and roomy. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely use this house again. Lori, Ya'll have a beautiful place. No gas grill,we had to bring our own. 3bedrooms on bottom floor. We had to go up and down the stairs to get to kitchen. The view was beautiful. There are 2 bedrooms on top floor. One of the bedrooms on top floor is as small as a closet no windows. We don’t thing it was worth the money we paid

Lori is a great host, 5 minutes from The mountain.

Lori was a great host. We didn’t have any problems. It snowed around 7-8” during our stay. The driveway was plowed before we left to snowboard that morning. I highly recommend this place for couples, family or big groups. Felt like home! Thanks Lori! We will stay there again for sure!
