This delightful renovated and private cottage is quietly nestled between the foothills of Gulaga Mountain and the sapphire coastal waters of Narooma. The cottage is in a spacious tranquil clearing at the rear of a 50 acre property which is run as a wildlife reserve, yet it is only minutes away from Narooma shops and Handkerchief beach. The new in-ground pool and wood burning stove are highlights. The cottage is fully fenced and both pet and mountain bike friendly and is perfect for all occasions from a weekend getaway through to a whole family city escape. If you like waking up to bird call and wallabies, this is the place for you.

This quiet rural cottage is suitable for up to 2 couples or a family of 6. The property is not suitable for people travelling with speed boats, jet skis, etc. Camping and motor bike riding are not permitted and cars and boats cannot be washed because the property relies on tank water.

Additional terms - Pet Friendly

1) Tenants must ensure they clean up after their dog prior to departure. (Otherwise excess cleaning fees will apply)
2) Local rules about dogs on beaches must be adhered to.
3) Dogs must be under the owners control at all times, must be kept confined in the backyard when not on a lead, must not be allowed to roam the streets, and must not disturb the neighbours.
4) Guests are fully responsible for the safety of their dog and no liability can be accepted for any misadventure (including as a result of inadequate fencing or escape from yard)

What stood out was the stocked kitchen. Utensils and cookware was full which was great. Location was great and out of the busy areas of town.Space was exactly what we were after and the pool was awesome.Owners/hosts were often very close, working around the property which at times felt like the privacy was diminished.Some rooms had a decent amount of spiders and webs in them.It also was not clear where the bins were kept to put out. So perhaps some clearer instruction or a sign would be great.Ceiling fans or a reverse cycle aircon would also be wonders to help in the summer.Would happily stay again but would be mindful of how private it really is.

the property is great and in a beautiful location. Everything 5 stars apart from the fencing for a dog friendly property. Could be improved to make it more suitable for small dogs or puppy dogs. Instead of ringlock fencing could do with chickenwire fencing around the house. we loved it and look forward coming back to this property.

The accommodation was great everything you need, we hired linen for a small amount and saved taking our own, the owners are lovely people, highly recommend.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second time staying here and we didn’t enjoy it as much as our last time unfortunately and left a day early.The house wasn’t as clean as last time. There were cobwebs and spiders everywhere. We expect it to an extent, but it was a dramatic difference from our last stay. Plus the mat in the toy room smelt horrible. We also thought that there may have been some upgrades since it has been 2yrs. Nothing had changed, actually there was less. TV is very dated, no wifi, as well as no aircon and no fans means it gets very warm overnight, especially up stairs. Last time we were also able to ride little motorbikes around and the owner wasn’t bothered at all, however this was stopped within 5mins this time. Which I respect, but probably worth noting on the information that it’s not allowed. BBQ ran out of gas quick. And the bin was completely full on arrival (recycling too). So we had to pile our rubbish up inside out of the wind until it was emptied. $106 in linen hire and you have to make your own bed on arrival is a bit annoying too. Would expect for the extra charge you would arrive to at least a made bed for the night. Overall it wasn’t too bad of a break, but we won’t stay again. Basics like not even a fan is hard with kids especially. We love Narooma, will definitely come back to the area, just change places to stay.

Worst accommodation ever / Whale Coast extremely unprofessional!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at this house for 9 nights and it was the worse experience I’ve ever had.The owners live 100m away and multiple times a day would drive past the property and check up on us. We wanted privacy. We were towing our boat up the driveway (it’s up a hill so we are quite slow) and the owners approached the house screaming at us for driving too fast. The husband was yelling for ten minutes despite us apologising multiple times. This was inappropriate and should have been dealt with by Whale Coast. We have made a formal complaint to the property manager however nothing came of this.After leaving, my credit card was charged $500 additional fees without any explanation. After falling the real estate multiple times, I was advised it was because the house was left messy. They provided photos and it was extremely unfair - there was one bag of rubbish next to the garbage bin (after 9 nights, the rubbish was full so we put the excess bag next to the wheely bin) and the BBQ was dirty (I cleaned the BBQ but there was a tiny piece of bacon left on the side that I had missed). I believe $500 for this is excessive given that we had already paid a $150 cleaning fee. The property manager could not provide receipts or invoices proving that the cleaner charged these fees. Upon research, the cleaners were the owners. I will never stay at a house through Whale Coast ever again and recommend that no one else does.

Stunning Private Retreat

We loved our stay! The property is extremely looked after in every way, excellent clean and very private with everything you need. Only 5 minutes to town but far enough away to relax and unwind in the beautiful bush setting. I would recommended for couples and families with the facilities such as the pool, bbq, fireplace and games there is something for everyone. Extremely dog friendly - the fully fenced yard was perfect to bring our dog on holidays with us. Thank you very much we will be back!

Not enough firewood to last our entire stay - and no other form of heating. However, the house was great and we were pleased as it was very child friendly. Weird that there is only 4 dining chairs but the house accommodates 7...

Overall great!

Overall a very good place to stay. Only suggestion would be a light installed at front door and some sugar with the tea and coffee complementary bowl, but great place! Also, written directions to property would be great as google is not always correct.
