ⓂThis 1880s historic home once owned by a member of the legendary Maverick family has high, high ceilings and a historically accurate exterior. Inside, however, you will find modern, high-end fixtures, brand-new plumbing and electric; high-speed internet; ample outlets; and large closets: all the amenities you've come to expect in luxury hotels.

Sleeps 1-3 comfortably, with plenty of closet space and a full bath with tub/shower combo. Choose from 2 twin pillow top beds that can be combined for 1 king, with prior notice. A plush chair bed folds to one full-length twin bed for a third adult or child.

🚶🏻‍♂️No car? No problem. The owner chose this home for its outstanding walkability: favorite eateries such as La Fonda on Main, Barbaro for pizza, or Cookhouse/NOLA for New Orleans cuisine.

Great spot... inaccurate listing

This listing is somewhat misleading. It’s not comparable to a luxury hotel- it’s a room in a home. The room was configured for two single beds- not exactly romantic, as the listing suggests- and the owner did not proactively communicate before our arrival.... except to warn us that we’d be charged extra if we used any of the other rooms in the house. Again, not a quality of a boutique hotel. The neighborhood is great, and the room itself was clean and very comfortable- but considering the price per night, and the exorbitant fees, luxury is nothing close to what you’ll find here.

Fabulous location; luxurious amenities.

We could reach a lot of great places on foot, and it was convenient to the airport and other attractions. We went to a show at the Tobin Center and it was a quick ride back to the place. The place is very clean and comfortable. We will return. Next time we will bring our bikes.

I have strong ties in this historic city through my years at Trinity U. While a student, I cultivated friendships with the amiable locals, and I maintain those friendships today. I'm very excited to live in San Antonio again!

Why they chose this property

I chose this property because of its convenient location, history (built 1880s), and stunning new remodel (2017) with high-end materials (real marble, etc.). It has a peaceful screened-in porch in back as well as a great front porch for people-watching. Dedicated bike lanes take you to the Pearl, or you can easily walk to St Mary's Strip, an entertainment district with a variety of dining, drinking, and shopping options. North Tobin Hill has much of the charm as the more-established Monte Vista Historic District a couple of blocks away, but it's closer to downtown and fun.
