Immaculate and Pet Friendly 2 BR 2 Bath House on Tybee's North End!
The Location
This modern 2 bedroom 2 bath house located on Tybee Road (US 80) is convenient to just about everything on the Island’s North End, including beach, dining, shopping, the Island’s premier wedding chapel, and lots more for your fun in the sun. While the house is not actually on the water, your day in the sand or on the water is close by. Like to spend some leisurely time on the beach, walking, fishing, or even watching ships coming to and from the Port of Savannah? The beach along the Savannah River side of Tybee is just a quick four-minute walk from the house (with boardwalk access over the dunes). Captain Mike’s and Captain Derek’s Dolphin Tours are just down the road (less than 3 minutes by car), and of course there’s swimming and sunning along the Atlantic at the island’s popular North Beach (1.3 miles by car). The Tybee Island Wedding Chapel is very close- about 1000 feet away! If you prefer the busier South Beach with its pier and pavilion, bars and restaurants, it’s less than 3 miles by car. And best of all, the very popular Tybee Oaks collective of unique gift and art shops, along with famous Huc-A-Poos for pizza, drinks, and entertainment, is steps away.
The House
Starting as a house up in the trees, the exterior was reimagined as a quaint “dockhouse” - without the water of course! Corrugated metal siding, a red metal roof, and a large wrap-around deck perfect for watching the sunset over the marsh, or maybe just for relaxing or dining under the century old live oak tree out front. Access to the home’s interior is by stairs leading up to the deck above. The house was renovated with bamboo flooring throughout as well as updated appliances and fixtures. Each of the two bedrooms has a queen bed. There is a single movable roll-away bed in the front bedroom. There is a 5-person occupancy limit (including infants and pets as well) unless prior approval has been given by the hosts.
Amenities - Home has central heating and cooling; - Towels, bed sheets, soap, shampoo, toilet paper provided; - Hair dryers provided; - Kitchen has microwave, range/stove, refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker, dishes and utensils; - Shaded Balcony/Deck with grill, adirondack chairs, dining table and chairs; - Iron and ironing board; -Pet friendly- Low pet fee only $30 for entire stay. (see below for details); -Stacked washer/dryer is located in the second bath; -Outdoor shower on side of house to rinse off sand; -Streaming Smart HDTV’s are located in living room and each bedroom (3 total). -Luxury 800 thread count sheets on queen beds in both bedrooms; -Complimentary wireless internet; -Off-street parking available in the rear and front with room for 2 cars. Pet Policy Responsible dogs arriving with their well-behaved humans are welcome to stay with prior approval. Advance reservations for pets are required. Guests will be charged a nonrefundable $30 per dog for entire stay; service animals excluded. Applicable taxes apply. We kindly ask dog owners to act responsibly with guest pet(s) and follow the guidelines listed below: • Pets must be current on vaccinations. Proof of vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian is required and must be available upon request. • Maximum of TWO (2) PETS (dogs) allowed. • Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet(s) including grounds. Please immediately remove and dispose of any waste. An additional cleaning fee may apply if the pet(s) creates an excessive mess. • Keep your dog(s) on a leash when outside of the house. • Pet owners are responsible for all personal injuries and/or property damage related to their pet(s). • Host reserves the right to ask the guest and his/her pet to leave without a refund if the pet displays signs of aggression. • As a courtesy to our neighbors, noise should respectfully be kept to a minimum. If guest pet is making excessive noise, you will be contacted for compliance. Your pet needs rest just like you. We want you to enjoy your stay. • If the pet’s behavior results in complaints by others in the area, the owner may be asked to board the pet in an outside shelter. PLEASE NOTE: We wish it were not the case (as we too have a “dog/child”), but the City of Tybee Island prohibits all animals on the Island’s beaches except for service dogs. You will find however many restaurants and shops on the Island that are pet friendly and welcoming.

Great location. Short drive to downtown Savannah and great for the weekend when you don’t have to fight traffic to get off the island. Would stay again.
We enjoyed our stay! The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We picked this house based on the reviews and the fact that we could bring our dog. It did not disappoint. The location was perfect with a very easy walk to the beach and the delicious coffee shop close by as well as other points of interest. The hosts were readily available to answer any questions we had. Their responses were always almost immediate. We would absolutely stay here again if we plan another trip to Tybee.
This was our first time visiting Tybee Island and we had a wonderful stay. It was nice to bring our dog and enjoy restaurants and shopping within walking distance from this cute and clean home. Thank you David for all of your communication and ideas for places to eat and things to do in Tybee and surrounding areas. We also enjoyed exploring the beach access within walking distance to the home. We will definitely return in the future!
The hosts are very thoughtful, leaving cold water and chocolates out upon arrival. Info about Tybee, and additional info was also left out for our convenience. The private yard was useful wity the dogs. And access to the beach was very close by.
Hosts were wonderful. Great value! My only concern was the deck. The deck boards felt very weak in a few places. I was concerned with falling through on the left side of the house.Would stay here again but not gonna take any chances walking around the house on the deck.

Thank you for complimenting Marty and me as hosts. You mentioned the deck surrounding the house in your review, and I wanted to reassure you that it is perfectly safe and should not be a concern. The area you mentioned has been reinforced with metal braces to ensure that portion of the deck is structurally sound. I personally walk and blow off the deck between every guest. While the surface is weathered, it has strong support underneath.

We enjoyed our stay. Non crowded beaches. Plenty of food and shopping within walking distance. Very accommodating amenities. Thank You very much for everything. Best check out experience ever.
Property was clean, owners are super nice. Beds are very comfy. Drive way is hard to see at night. Tybee police love catching speeders right in front of the house, but its free entertainment while porch sitting. If you have pets, owners give lots of suggestions for where you can take them. It was perfect for a fall trip.
The house is perfect. Is on the quieter end of town and walking distance to the beach and delicious restaurants. Dave keeps in contact with you and responds quickly. Really enjoyed staying here.
The house was spotless and well stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. The beds were comfortable and we slept great! The location of the house was perfect, just a short walk to the shops, restaurants and beach. We will definitely stay at the dockhouse again.
The house was very clean and as represented online. There were a lot of nice little touches like having small fans, beach towels, black washcloths for makeup removal, and a notebook with information about the house and Tybee.

This house fit what we needed for our 3 night stay on Tybee Island. It's pet friendly and everything was in working condition and very clean. The location is prime for things to do in the area. David was a great host and that made things go even more smoothly.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, spacious, and perfect for our holiday. Davids attentiveness was so helpful in directing us to the beaches, restaurants, etc. We will definitely be back!

Our guests have given us consistent 5 star ratings. They like the convenience of the location, the close proximity to the beach near the entrance to the Savannah River, and the interior furnishings. This is presently our only rental property. Accordingly, we do our best to make sure that the house stays immaculately clean and attention is given to the "details" that matter for a comfortable stay.
What makes this property unique
Less than a 4 minute walk to the beach as the Savannah River empties into the Atlantic, as well as being convenient by car (or rental golf-cart) to Tybee's North Beach and South Beach areas which front along the Atlantic. The nearby beach at Byers Street access provides excellent viewing of large container ships making their way into port from all over the world. The house is also a VERY short walk to The Shops at Tybee Oaks, which has gift shops, a coffee shop, and is home to the famed and very popular Huc A Poos pizza restaurant and bar.
