Panoramic views across Shoal Bay from the balcony

The Location - Shoal haven is located at the Western end of Shoal Bay Beach, just walk across the grass and you are on the beach. It is also only 500 metres from family friendly Little Beach for calm water swimming, picnics and BBQ's and just one kilometre (or a walk up the beach) to Shoal Bay's shops, cafes and restaurants. Plus five minutes drive into Nelson Bay.

The Unit - This third floor unit offers panoramic views across the Harbour from the balcony and living area. The living area is open plan with a flat screen TV and DVD player, a dining area and a full kitchen with a cook top, oven, microwave and dishwasher. Two bedrooms (queen bed and two single beds), both with ceiling fans, a bathroom with a shower (no bath) and an internal laundry with a washer (no dryer). Undercover parking is available for two small cars.

There are definitely smoke alarms at this property.

Great Location

This Unit is situated in the best location with stunning views. The Unit is quite dated but the location certainly makes up for it! Awesome being able to listen to the waves at night and have great views from lying in bed, sitting on the lounge or having a cuppa on the balcony. Beautiful Lorikeets visited us on the balcony & large bunnies were seen in the evening on the grass outside the Unit. Within 5 minutes drive of Nelson Bay main town centre and only a 10 minute walk down the beach to Shoal Bay village. The only issue was the bed linen..... there was unfortunately a 'sweaty body' linen smell in the main bedroom. We were supplied with clean linen ($28 cost) however the pillows, mattress protector, quilt cover etc was in need of a good hot water wash. We actually went & purchased new pillows due to the extent of the issue. I have given feedback to the Company who manages the Unit so hopefully this will be sorted out for future guests. I would definitely stay there again (providing Linen issue sorted) just for the location, view etc.

View was beautiful. The beds were not made and had the linen in plastic for us to make. Unit was not clean. Bad internet reception. Also dealing with them to make reservations and to organise late check-in was really hard work. The booking process was not made easy.

Awful experience

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property is dangerous. Every time a wave hit the beach the building shook meaning no sleep for anyone. It was dusty and mouldy causing asthma to flare up and made us cancel our last night. Check in process is too complicated and staff were rude when organising out of hours key collection

Our unit number 6 on 3rd floor was **** , no lifts , steps were so narrow more then 50-60 steps to climb and carrying stuff upstairs was so painful ruined the whole stay . There was no aircon and it was hot humid n stcky . Once we went up didnt want to go down because of stairs . We booked the room for 4 adults picked up keys at 2:30 pm went up with everything , long trip , tired and then toilet roll was less then half a roll , imagine 4 adults n 1/4 toilet roll and there was no spares . Had to wakeup early to go find toilet roll lucky wollys was open early . I will never ever go there again .
