Thank you so much for celebrating such a special occasion with us! We’re thrilled the property worked well for the wedding celebration and that we could help make the stay a little more flexible for your family. We hope the memories of your celebration linger as beautifully as the day itself. You’re welcome back anytime!
This home was spacious enough to accommodate my family and friends. The home was beautiful and location felt very secluded in a beautiful mountain neighborhood just minutes from FairPlay . I would definitely stay here again!

Well kept. Great getaway location.
The cabin was in great condition and the owner was accommodating to my group. We loved the open living area and the big deck and yard. It was so quiet and such a great location to get away from the busyness of life. The beds were also very comfortable and all the appliances worked well! I would definitely recommend this place for large family vacations. It's great for building relationships with it's open design and feels like you're always together.
We found everything as advertised. The property manager was quick to respond. There was an ample supply of paper towels, toilet paper, and soap. The showers even had shampoo and body wash, which was a nice surprise. We loved the town of FairPlay. We saw moose, elk, and deer on the property during our stay.

The home was ok. It looked a bit different from the pictures but was overall a nice cabin. Unfortunately there was a few discrepancies we noticed upon arrival and through out the stay. Communication with owner was easy and fast.
Only one person can shower at a time even though there were 3 showers.
Rat feces in a closet
Not enough trash bags and toilet paper had to purchase after 2nd day staying in cabin.
Bathroom locks were not working.
Some wood in balcony was rotting so we couldn't enjoy that part of the cabin.

From the owner: "Thank you for your review! We've done a deep clean, restocked materials and fixed the shower issue, so future guests will enjoy their stay."
Loved the privacy and seclusion of the home, felt very comfortable letting our German shorthaired pointer roam and explore the property. My husband and I stayed here with some friends and loved the layout of the house, we took the master which was on its own side of the house away from the other 2 bedrooms on the main floor, so we were happy to have our privacy. Loved the extra space downstairs, however we were unable to use the space because it was unbearably hot, and we could never get the temp below 80 degrees. While the home is far from some of the more popular attractions in Colorado we still found plenty to do without having to travel too far. My only complaint would be the cleanliness of the kitchen, it could use a good deep cleaning, I found I had to wipe the counters and outside of the cabinets down upon entering the home. With that being said I would stay here again.
Joyful and relaxing with excellent full moon views!
This property was quite enjoyable. The beds and linens were comfortable, kitchen well stocked and overall floor plan easy to mingle or break off for privacy if needed. Although the downstairs can be noisy, you hear every foot step above you.
Feedback that I also shared with the property manager:
The outdoor boiler was packed full of trash but instructions say not to put trash there. Not sure how or why that's happening. Only realized that because the door to boiler was open when we arrived (with trash nearly falling out).
The front door needs adjusting, it's difficult to open and shut.
Hallway bathroom water pressure in sink was just a trickle of water. Had just enough TP, no more rolls in the house. There should have been more for a house that sleeps 12-15.
To the owners - thank you kindly for choosing to share your beautiful log home with guests. It made for an extra special birthday celebration!

Beautiful property, but needs improvement
The good: as other have noted this is a beautiful log cabin on a beautiful property.
Areas for improvement:
Here are some issues I noticed:
1. There are mice that live in the house and enter/exit thru grates beneath the kitchen sink
2. The backyard balcony really needs to be maintenanced/repaired. It's in pretty rough state: a. Banister is rotting b. Some wood panels are raised and could cause people to trip or little toes to be stubbed.
3. The sofas are really awful and not what were in the photos. They were VERY uncomfortable. You can feel the springs and the backing won't stand at the 3rd position so it's always reclined about 45 degrees.
4. There was no outside tables as indicated in the photos.
5. Forget about getting any response via the VRBO app.
6. There was a leak in the roof during the rain. No big deal, just had to put out a bowl to catch the dripping.

Hi Sean, thanks for your review. This homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response:
- The mice situation has been remediated. There aren't mice in the house any longer.
- The wood on the deck has been repaired, and guests will continue to enjoy the scenery from the deck.
- The sofas have been replaced with very comfortable new couches
- A new patio set has been purchased, so guests will enjoy sitting on the deck over meals
- Our guest contact, Amy, was never notified via phone, text, or email. We wish you had reached out to her as the Guest Contact during your stay for any issues you needed to be addressed. We would have done everything we could to resolve them immediately so that you could enjoy the home"
Thanks for letting us know about your stay.

Disappointing Experience, Major Improvements Needed
While the Fairply Log Home offers ample space for larger groups, it unfortunately falls short in several critical areas. We encountered a number of significant issues during our stay that impacted our overall experience.First and foremost, the home was not prepared for guests upon our arrival. Essential items like light bulbs, batteries, and tissues were missing or in need of replacement, which should have been checked beforehand. In addition, the kitchen was poorly stocked — we found dirty dishes, glassware, utensils, and bakeware in the cupboards, which was a huge letdown.Another major concern was the dangerous ice buildup outside the back door. Not only did this make it nearly impossible to access the deck, but it also posed a serious safety hazard. The condition of the property’s outdoor areas in winter needs significant attention. The home lacked sufficient linens and towels at the start of our stay, requiring us to request extras. The dining room seating is also very limited, with only eight seats available and an additional three folding chairs, which felt inadequate for our group. The outdoor table, which could have been a nice feature, was frozen into the deck, making it unusable during our winter stay, even on warmer days.On a positive note, the fireplace was a highlight — the fire starter provided made it easy to enjoy a cozy evening, and the couches were comfortable for relaxing indoors.Ultimately, the home needs a major deep cleaning and restocking to meet basic expectations. While it has potential with its spacious layout, I would not recommend this property until the maintenance and safety issues are addressed and the property is properly prepared for guests.

Not cleaned, no running water
Do not stay here. While the property is beautiful and secluded and quite large, the management and communication is trash. We arrived to find that it had not been cleaned after the previous group- beds are unmade with dirty sheets on top, crumbs everywhere, no counters cleaned, a huge stack of dirty dishes in the sink- OH and no running water. This includes sinks, showers, toilets. One of the toilets in the basement even had human feces sitting in it from the previous group. I immediately tried contacting the property manager and had no luck. I called and texted and left voicemails. Finally I got in touch with the Evolve customer service. The first guy hung up on me. The second gal was a very helpful and told me that unfortunately no running water would be available the entire weekend. They “tried” to get in touch with me but apparently the messages didn’t get to me in time?? I still have yet to receive any emails, voicemails, or messages through the app that this was the case and the reservation was supposed to be cancelled. The lady tried to help me find a relocation spot but was unsuccessful (it was a holiday weekend and already 7pm Friday night). She said the best she could do was refund me- fine. At this point my group and I decided to stick it out and stay. We had driven hours to be there and we’re kind of stranded. The next day the property manager showed up and came in very hot about how we were not allowed to be there and she was going to call the sheriff. However no one told me I needed to leave the premise previously? I let the women know I would absolutely be compliant and leave if need be, but it was not made clear that was the case and 15 of my friends and I were kind of stuck. Finally by the end she told me we could stay if we were ok with the situation. At that point what else could we do? I then got contacted by evolve that I should not be there. That was a whole other phone call that had to be handled- thankfully we weee able to stay. The whole stay was stressful and super gross. I slept in a bed that a previous person slept in that hadn’t been cleaned. We had no running water. We had to take trips to town to use the bathroom. You’re better off elsewhere- save the headache and hassle it’s not worth it.

Hi Lexi, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark and sincerely apologize for the mishap that occurred during your booking. We'd like to clarify that Evolve dropped the ball on communicating these issues to you, which resulted in the issues you experienced. This does not reflect the owner or property and Evolve takes full responsibility. The lack of hot water was due to an electrical issue with the well that has since been fixed. This homeowner goes above and beyond for their guests and we are confident that future travelers will have excellent experiences.
The property has the most beautiful views we have ever seen! We had a lovely family weekend! Magical walks, a fun time in the quaint city of Fairplay, and much laughter as we all played cards in the spacious cabin made the weekend one we will not forget! The kids and grand kids want to go back soon...
We had a great experience here. We did not have contact with the property manager because we didn't need to. The instructions for the house were very helpful. There is some work to be done on the decks and fenced portion of the property, but they are functional and did not affect us having a great time.
Didn't get to stay here, our trip was canceled the night before we were scheduled to go due to heating and plumbing issues. Because of the cancellation, we had to change all of our plans and wound up not being able to see everything we wanted to see in Colorado.

Hi Nadine, we're so sorry that you were unable to enjoy this lovely home! There was an unprecedented issue with both the heat and water ahead of your stay, so the homeowner canceled the booking in an abundance of caution. This issue has since been fixed and we hope that you keep us in mind for your future travels/the next time you visit Fairplay!
Beautiful home. Well supplied. Much farther to skiing than anticipated. We had thought it was only 8 miles to Ski Cooper but it was much farther. Ended up skiing Breckenridge which was nearly an hour away, but was the closest ski slope. We reported a drainage problem with the dishwasher and bathtub which was fixed before we checked out
The house was absolutely stunning. The listing depicted precisely what the property looked like.
Maintenance appears to be minimal though with an eye to saving money.
One thing I would stress is altitude sickness is real. Out of 13 people 3 became violently ill, headache, nausea and diarrhea. All of us where effected to some degree. I believe the elevation is 10,100’. We were naive but we are also from Florida, Illinois and Iowa. It was so severe for one family that they had to cut their stay short. Just be aware.
If you want a secluded property with easy access to town this is the one for you! Gorgeous views and lots of wildlife. My only issue was the safety of the deck. The railing is weak and shakes, holes are in the deck stairs, and the deck table was unusable due to a broken leg. The grill also does not work. If taking kids you just must use lots of caution! Otherwise it was a great property!
