Gills - Waterfront House in Culburra Beach

Absolute water front house in beautiful Culburra Beach. Step over the road and in two minutes walk you are on your own river beach - swim, kayak, fish, walk, relax - then come back to a beautifully appointed beach house complete with new furnishings.

Plenty of places to relax - light filled lounge room, roof top terrace, rumpus room with additional large flat screen TV, huge back and front yard - looking out onto a bushland reserve teaming with birds.

Sleeps 6 and dogs are welcome. Culburra Beach a ten minute walk. A very special place. Breathe again at gills!

Do as much or as little as you like - laze the day away with a great book in one of the many relaxing areas offered by the house or in two minutes you can be swimming in the Crookhaven River Beach.
How about a cocktail while the sun goes down on the roof top terrace? Movie night on the flat screen TV in the rumpus room? Bird watching, great walks, Culburra Beach, cafes and restaurants are moments away.

All furniture, appliances, crockery and cutlery are in great condition and the well equipped kitchen awaits. Games, DVDs and books are available for guests to use on your stay.

We welcome your dog and our enclosed back yard makes it a great holiday for your furry friends too.

Culburra Beach is 2.5 hours south of Sydney on the beautiful NSW south coast. It is a quiet peaceful place with great cafes, restaurants and a Woolworths for all your needs. It is a great location to explore, relax and unwind - surrounded by water and only 30 minutes from Jervis Bay and 40 minutes drive to Berry.

Peaceful family space

Beautifully presented home and set up well for families. Gill was so thoughtful leaving some lights on for us given we were arriving after dark. Location was great and close to the water - we will need to come back and spend more time so that we can explore more of the Culburra Beach area!

Perfect seaside getaway with your doggos

Loved our stay at Gill's. Great location, everything you need in a house with comfy beds and a bonus to bring your dogs on holiday. The bird life was spectacular and we loved our walks down to the river beach. We'll definitely be back.

"Absolute Beachfront"

Disappointed that it was not "absolute beachfront" as advertised. We stayed "absolute waterfront" further down the coast where we walked from the deck, down the yard to the water.

Thanks for your comment. Listing does point out that you need to cross the road to get to the beach. Maybe you should read more carefully next time rather than leave reviews that are about you not reading the listing thoroughly, rather than the accuracy of our description. We had the same problem with you not finding the check in details that had been sent well ahead of time. I’m happy to assist but the review you left is unfair given it was your mistake. These guests did leave the house clean.

Lovely beach house

We had a wonderful stay at Gill’s gorgeous house. The location is beautiful and the house is spacious and comfortable and has everything we needed. We had a lovely couple of days and would have liked to have had time to stay longer! We would definitely recommend it!

Wonderfully relaxing stay

The house was even nicer than the pictures. Definitely much more spacious than I was expecting. Lovely, peaceful location. Close to the beach and just across the road from the inlet. Good information provided by the host about local facilities and places to visit. I will definitely recommend this property to friends!

Perfect girls weekend

Gills waterfront house was perfect for a quiet girls weekend. The photos accurately depicted the beauty of this house and the comfortable spaces within. The well stocked kitchen allowed us to cook up delicious meals and the large collection of DVDs meant we had ample girly movies on hand to watch after our day at Callala beach. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

All you need

This was our second stay at Gill's place. It's Located across the road from the Crookhaven river and not far from the beach. The house is very well equipped and has a really calm feel about it.

Interaction with the host was responsive and good. Amenities : there was no teatowel to be able to dry dishes so reliant on draining or the dishwasher. There was an element on the stove that was not working, and was told it was fine the week prior.More options for cooling especially in the larger room with the 2 bunks, there was only 1 room with a ceiling fan and 1 spare pedastool, along with the single reverse cycle system. There were no curtains or blinds in the kitchen, only sheer curtains in the main lounge room, which allowed for ZERO privacy at the front of the house, or the ability to temperature control. No fly screens on the living area windows or screen door at the back also meant restricting ability to temperature control. All the 'sharp' knives were blunt, so needed to purchase one for the duration of our stay (couldn't even slice a tomato)

Sad that you didn’t enjoy your stay or communicate with me in a polite and respectful manner. No please or thank you in constant demanding texts at all hours is not what we’re used to. I’m surprised in your multitude of texts you didn’t ask me where the T Towels were if you couldn’t find them along with how to cool the house by turning on the AC and overhead fans simultaneously. We have never had complaints like this review or demands like this guest made before. Suggest next time you look at the listing - you would have seen the curtaining in the lounge room which again no one else has complained about, or mitigated the multitude of other complaints you had. It’s very difficult to keep track of working order of everything during busy periods but we will fix the stove element - hope the other three allowed you to cook efficiently.

So close to the river, we never saw our girls. So much for them to do with all the games and equipment so generously supplied by the house. We all had a lovely and relaxing stay.

Relax with nature on the rooftop

My favourite place was morning coffee on the rooftop terrace watching and listening to the local wildlife while the sun came up. Clean, comfortable, close to everything. Loved that there were things in the shed we could use. Mozzies were the only downfall, but it had been wet weather on and off.

Lovely, welcoming cottage with everything you need for a perfect coastal holiday.

Ideal holiday cottage with plenty of room for a family or just one or two people - and a dog or two. Lots of lovely touches from cookbooks to fans, DVDs, games, surfboards and bicycles - even a water bowl for the dog. Comfy beds that are made up when you arrive, so all you need to bring is your own towels. The living area is roomy and cosy at the same time and the upstairs deck is perfect. It's opposite the rived and close to the beach. The place is great and the personal touches make it really special.

Family friendly comfort

Clean. Practical. Organised. Ideal South Coast quiet. The kids equally loved the river beach and Northern Warrain beach (patrolled). They also loved the kids room and bunks. Rooftop balcony was a hit too for watching birds in the evenings. Lovely stay. Excellent host.

Culburra getaway

Our family of 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 small dogs really enjoyed our Xmas stay at Gill's. We made the most of a WiFi-free time as a family and explored the lagoon beach aswell as the surf beach at Culburra. The place was quiet and tranquil and has all the modern amenities as well as a contemporary fresh decor. The dogs enjoyed the backyard space and happily chilled out with us. Gill was awesome and communicated well during our stay and we would recommend her home to others.

Hi Nelly - My first ever one star review (in fact the first one under 5 stars) - not very fair or accurate I don't think given the location is exactly how it’s described in the listing - over the road from the river beach - and all other guests have enjoyed the location very much. I'm not sure what you were looking for but the house is in a beautiful location as described (over the road from the river beach) and so many guests have loved it. But you can't please everyone - even though we try very hard. Could your one star rating be due to the fact that you broke several serious house rules that were clearly articulated and I have advised you that you would not be welcome again in our house and rated you accordingly? This is the first time this has happened and we were shocked at the way you treated our property. House rules such as NO FIRES given there is a total fire ban (and the recent catastrophic fires on the South Coast) - you started a small fire in our backyard after dumping smouldering briquettes in the garden. The house rule about picking up after your dog was also ignored - you left dog waste all over the house and garden for our cleaner to deal with. Sadly you showed no respect for our property or the wider community - a serious fire could have been started if our neighbour hadn't seen it and put it out. You haven't even apologised for this. I hope other potential guests will make up their own minds based on all the other positive reviews and the way you treated our property. We look forward to welcoming respectful guests who understand the value of our natural environment and other people's properties . Regards Gill
