The house is perfect for two people and well designed for efficiency and comfort. We liked having the bathroom out on the verandah. The house is on a small block but well placed with a lovely garden giving good privacy. Only a short walk to the beach and a bit of a longer one to town but quite a nice walk. Really great space for a couple.
The cottage is lovely and as described. Quaint with the outdoor bathroom but no surprises. The beds unfortunately are about 40cm off the floor which is not great but seriously are harder than the floor. We booked for three nights but left on day 2 as I had slept on the couch the second night as the main bed was to hard to sleep in. There is a topper on the terrible matress but it does nothing, the floor would have been more comfortable. Disappointed as everything else was as described, but if these beds have been updated (as per review comments), then they need to be replaced, not just throw a topper on them. I like a firm bed, but this was unbearable, especially when combined with being a foot off the ground.

Homely but beware the bathroom
A quaint beach shack with a retro fit out. Spacious kitchen and living area. TV reception not reliable. Plenty of homely inclusions but many items need updating. Beds are old, low and hard and need replacing. Blankets available. Bathroom and toilet are outside and exposed to the elements. Shower over bath with no curtain so water goes everywhere. Not a suitable stay for winter months, the elderly or young families.

Unfortunately TV reception in the area can be unreliable due to all the trees. Beds have been upgraded. As per advertising - Please note that the bathroom is 'separate' to the main section of the house although linked by a covered deck.
We really enjoyed our few days here. Even though you are on a small block you feel like you are in the bush with many trees around. The bed was very comfortable (I was somewhat worried following other reviews however I think a mattress topper has been added). I didn't mind that the bathroom was built onto a deck with adjacent to the house - in fact I think this works really well if you are here to enjoy the water as I was. It was great to get back from diving and swimming and be able to go straight into the shower and wash without traipsing sand and water through the house. So I think it is well designed for a beach house.
It is about 2 km from the main centre, and there is a lovely walking path mostly through trees that takes you all the way to town. Phone reception was OK but not if you want to do any data intensive work. All in all a lovely place to stay.
About a 5 minute drive from the town centre, great quiet escape. There were no curtains or drapes throughout the house which was a bit confronting at first but otherwise a great place that was good value for money. More ideal for summer than winter with the outdoor bathrooms and little to no heating and is well shaded - of course we went in winter!!!

Great holiday house by the beach
Calledon was a great little place to stay, was so close to town and the beach. It was super relaxed and had everything we needed. This place was very economical too. Only drawback were the beds being a little hard for us, but otherwise highly recommend.

Quirky and cute
Had a great 3 nights in this cute, quirky, cosy house. It had everything we needed for our stay. The only downside was the beds could do with some decent mattresses.

Sadly on arrival at the property we encountered a dead fly blown bandicoote which we had to find help from neighbours to remove before entering the house. having the bathroom and toilet outside the house were an issue for the older couple with us. not a pleasant stay at all.

Thank you for your review. It would've been great if you had contacted us to let us know about the wildlife and we would've fixed this problem for you immediately. Unfortunately we cannot resolve issues that we are not made aware of. Please note that all of the advertising for this property specifically mentions the fact that the bathroom is 'separate' to the house - linked by a covered deck, so that guests know prior to their arrival.

Great summer beach house
A lovely, modern house with all comforts and facilities. Although the bathroom and toilet are connected to the house by a covered walkway, we didn't find this a problem. Very comfortable beds.

Great little place for 2-3 people.
A mate and i stayed here for a boys fishing trip for a few days and it was great. Clean and tidy little place with a big kitchen and gas cooking. It was october so it wasnt too hot yet. There is no aircon so it could be an issue during peak summer but overall was perfect for us. Coloola realty were great to deal with, very friendly and easy going. We will be back!

Perfect Beach House
loved it!
A lot of thought went into making this shack give that holiday feeling
I felt I was on holidays rather than staying in someone's house.

Nice place to stay at large open rooms with high ceilings and timber floors. Plenty of large open windows so that you can stare and be lost in nature that encloses the house by trees. The kitchen is fully operational with gas stove tops. The house can be rather cold in the cooler times but I found plenty of blankets in the cupboards to keep me warm with. Shower and toilet is external with permanently open louvers which can be rather chilling at times I showered in the warmer parts of the day when I could which wasn't too bad. I recommend staying in the house but its more suited to the warmer months so you may want to bring some warmer cloths for the cooler months of the year.

Nice house BUT
We stayed here 27, 28,29 and 30 August 2014. The house is probably a good summer holiday house, but for cold days, it is quite miserable. In the living room, there is even a window that only has a screen and not even glass to the outside. It was cold and slightly humid in the house. Also, the house does hardly get any sun because of the trees and the bedrooms have open windows (also without glass or anything) to the lounge, which makes it harder to share. We asked and received a (very little) heater from the real estate, which helped but was ridiculous to run with those open windows. When I told the Real Estate, who were very friendly, I did not have a double doona cover on my double bed, they just said that it was in the wash and left it at that...
