About this property

Family & Pet-Friendly Cozy Cabin

Located at 89 Parker Creek Rd in Murfreesboro Arkansas.
The Codex Cabin is tucked away on 3.5 acres of private wooded land and surrounded by wildlife and tranquility. This custom-finished cabin is filled with warm, rustic style and all the modern conveniences. Comfortably sleeping 4-6 but able to accommodate up to 8 guests, the knotty pine interior and playful beagle-themed decor is cozy and inviting.
Woodsy touches and sweet beagle faces decorate this charming space. Codex the beagle, a beloved family member of the builder and owner, is the namesake for this unique pup-inspired oasis. With all the darling dog decor, visitors might come away craving a beagle puppy! The tongue and groove pine, thick cypress beams, and abundant windows create a pleasant setting.
The Codex Cabin has an open living room, including a sofa that opens into a queen-size sleeper with a memory foam mattress, a side table with a reading lamp, an electric fireplace for chilly evenings, and a Smart TV for snuggling up and watching a movie. Guests are welcome to play one of the many board games provided. Visitors can sit on the rustic pine swivel stools and dine at the large kitchen counter that looks into the kitchen.
In the kitchen, guests will find all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay and easy meal prep; a full-size fridge with ice maker, a dishwasher and large stainless sink for quick cleanup, two burner stove, a toaster oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, all necessary kitchen utensils and cookware and even a full range of spices and seasonings. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with all the essential conveniences of soap, sponges, foil, coffee filters, oil, coffee, and sugar, so you can arrive with just your groceries and spend your time having fun instead of provisioning.
Remote workers can keep in touch as needed with convenient high-speed internet.
The primary bedroom is on the main level with a queen-sized bed, hanging closet, and ceiling fan. Upstairs is the fun loft area that peeks over the living room and will delight little ones. It provides sleeping spaces for up to four with a trundle bed and two additional floor mattresses. It is a comfortable space with a wall unit for heating and cooling and windows for ventilation and light.
The full bathroom is a smart use of space with a small vanity sink and mirror, a corner shower with a glass door, and a window for additional light. Guests will have plenty of towels and essentials like soap, shampoo and conditioner.
The entire space provides thermostat-controlled mini-split heating and cooling to ensure a comfortable stay. A ceiling fan in the living room circulates air throughout.
Step through the front door onto the oversized covered front porch for an elevated view of the surrounding woodlands. The outdoor ceiling fan will move the air and keep bugs at bay while you enjoy a meal at the alfresco dining table. Guests can stream their favorite music via a multimedia center by connecting with Bluetooth and broadcasting to speakers in the bedroom, living room and covered deck. Just steps away are a firepit, charcoal BBQ, and picnic table to enjoy s'mores over an evening campfire. There is even a fenced dog pen for your pet. During their stay, guests will have plenty of parking space for trucks, trailers, or ORVs.

Quiet cabin in the woods 😍
Such a great place for family time! We absolutely loved our visit. Jim, the really good looking cleaning lady, was extremely kind and helpful! It was a short 5 minute walk down to the lake. We enjoyed a bonfire a couple nights. The diamond mine was a simple drive. Definitely recommend!

Diamond hunting bucket list with granddaughter
This cabin was perfect for us! We took our 14 year old grand daughter on this trip. The location was perfect for Crater of Diamonds. The cabin itself was cute, clean and well stocked. Had a bonfire both nights and enjoyed the covered porch. Perfect in every way. Susan, Terry & Lilly

I am a chiropractor and a real estate investor, received my B.S. in Human Biology and my Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan University - College of Chiropractic. The majority of my undergraduate schooling was at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. I am also a veteran of the U.S. Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve having served both in an enlisted and officer capacity. I served on Active Duty at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia and Ft. Polk, Louisiana and have trained at several other posts. While enlisted I was a medical lab technician. As an officer, I was commissioned in combat engineering.

I love music.....many types but especially country and rock. I had the privilege of growing up partly in the city and partly in the country so I learned early on that I prefer the country. My favorite activities include motorcycling, backpacking, hiking, and camping.

When watching movies I tend to prefer SciFi or action. When reading books I prefer history or biographies. I like food in general but particularly Tex-Mex, Italian and Cajun style.

My favorite destination is not a particular place but geographically I prefer woods combined with mountain scenery.

I have been married over 25 years and our "children" are the 4-legged furry kind. We own 8 dogs and a Mustang. Many of our dogs have titles in agility, obedience, and tracking.

My goal as a host is for my guests to not just have a 5-star experience but to exceed their expectations. I want my guests to feel that their cost to be a guest in my cabin was worth every penny and that they would be a guest again in the future and refer friends or family.

My motto: "Live simply, Dream big, Be grateful, Give love, Laugh lots!"

Why they chose this property

There's lots of privacy as well as being adjacent to Lake Greeson's Parker Creek Recreation Area for swimming, boating, hiking and ATV riding (launching area for trails around Lake Greeson) that make this the ideal location for your Crater of Diamonds getaway.

What makes this property unique

Close enough to town for convenience but near the lake for recreational enjoyment. We are pet-friendly too! (additional pet fee)
