George and Sally's Farmhouse

George and Sally's farmhouse is a beautifully restored original farmhouse. The Draughn family raised their 7 children in the early/mid 1900's. The original structure is now over 100 years old. Recently restored in 2015, this two bedroom 1 bath home is perfectly located in the countryside just outside of Mount Airy(Mayberry) and Dobson, NC. The farmhouse sits in the middle of a 120 acre farm with views of the blue ridge mountains in the distance. Three miles of walking trails take you to the banks of the Fisher River bordering the farm. Guests can enjoy fishing in the river or in the farm pond located across the road from the house. Come be our guest and enjoy the quiet peacefulness of the Carolina countryside.

I stayed during an ice storm, the host shoveled the porch and drive way. The house was stocked with several thing that are easy to forget when packing (zip loc, coffee, trash bags, bathroom amenities. They were very communicative and always quickly responded to messages.

This house is wonderful,old fashion, and cozy. So nice to get away from all the busy life and just relax. Nice big yard for kids to play and spacious deck for grilling and eating outdoors. Love this place and would refer anyone to stay. Thanks again for your great hospitality.

Quiet, great for setting on the porch in the morning and evening! Central location and short drive to wineries and towns. Don’t forget to visit Pilot Mountain State Park—beautiful!

Comfortable farmhouse

Very relaxed and homey from the moment we stepped inside. The kitchen was great, we enjoyed cooking our meals here. The whole house was very charming. The bathroom shower was very nice. The bed was very comfortable, really appreciated the ceiling fan also. We would definitely stay here again.

Dobson Farm house

This property had every thing we needed it was quiet, had a great view, and was conveniently located near Mt. Airy. The property was well keep and my entire family enjoyed the stay. Meet Mrs. Vaughn yesterday and she was very friendly. If we are in the area again would love to stay here again.
