About this property

Dean Way Chalet - Spacious & Family-Friendly in Blue Lake Springs

The Dean Way Chalet is a large and inviting cabin with three spacious levels in which you can spread out and enjoy. The chalet is set smack in the middle of the Sierras, and is surrounded by beautiful big trees all year round! The cabin is located in Blue Lake Springs in Arnold, California, and is waiting for you and your friends and family!

The chalet has 4 bedrooms, PLUS a loft, PLUS a full lower level with rec room and ping pong room! You can comfortably sleep 12 bodies in beds!

Bear Valley ski resort is only 25 minutes away from the cabin! In both winter and summer, it's a fabulous, family-friendly alternative to busy Tahoe resorts, and a MUCH easier drive! Outside this special cabin, in summer you are steps away from two lakes with beaches, as well as access to all the fabulous recreation that Blue Lake Springs has to offer. Tennis, basketball, swimming pools, shuffleboard, organized kids' activities, bingo nights, outdoor movies, playground, volleyball, Snowflake Lodge Restaurant, and more! Not to mention nearby Calaveras Big Trees State Park and numerous golf courses. In winter there is snow all around the cabin and numerous sno-parks, cross country skiing trails, and of course, Bear Valley!

Of course, you don't have to leave the chalet at all to have a wonderful vacation in the mountains. The possibilities are endless -- you can enjoy a barbeque on the spacious deck and admire the tall trees surrounding the cabin, you can play in the snow all around the cabin during winter, you can make a fire and play games inside (puzzles and games are provided too), or you can swing on the authentic chair lift swing hanging from the deck. Our guests tell us that simply hanging out at the cabin is always a highlight of their vacations! And if you must work, we now have two separate workstations (desks and desk chairs) available to make it comfortable for you.

Great place to Stay!
The check in process was really fast,as soon as we get in we were excited to explore the place, place are good except for the bathroom toilet, it looks like they didn’t used that for a while so stain stayed but i’m sure it’ll came off after more cleaning. And don’t forget to bring your own towels and bed sheets.!The bedrooms are perfect for us and have some spaces for other kids, basement are perfect for the kids and adults with couple of games to choose from,Just a concerned about the lock, I wish they have a lock inside the door downstair in the future, so it’s okay to leave the kids down .The kitchen was great! All the things we need were there. We did a lot of cooking and grilling outside and it was awesome! There was a wifi ,but really hard to get a service outside.Overall our stayed were great! The host Sandy’s amazing! Recommended!

Lots of space and great for kids!
Highly recommend the property to a big group wanting to stay together. Beds were comfortable. Make sure to read the listing bc you need to bring your own towels and sheets. Fortunately, our friends were coming up after us and were able to bring them for us as well. Cleaning could have been a little more thorough as some of the dishes had food stuck on them and there were a lot of cobwebs on the lights. That is probably the only place I could knock this property bc otherwise it was a great place to stay. :)

We are two families from the Bay Area who own this vacation rental together. We have owned the cabin since 2007, and we have spent every year making improvements and updating things so that our guests have great experiences. We also enjoy the cabin with our (5 total) children when it is not rented out. There is so much to do in Arnold, and our cabin makes for an easy, special getaway. The kids love the ping pong and in winter, the sledding right outside. In summer, we spend a lot of time floating on the lakes!
